I don't get it. We were supposed to have the game already at this point before it had been pushed to May. Very likely 99.9% of the work was done and right now, the game should have pretty much been going gold. So how can it be pushed back indefinitely unless there was problems even WITHOUT covid-19.
Or was it the fact it has a pandemic in the game? It couldn't be issues with releasing the game. People are moaning about FFVII Remake's release but its a tiny percentage. I still haven't received my 1st Class Soldier Edition of FFVII Remake and I doubt I would have without a global pandemic lol.
Better clarity on the PS4 BC would have helped. And SHOW ANYTHING that wasn't a static presentation slide. They were my only gripes. Even the PS4 reveal had a small tech demo to demonstrate the big deal of offloading CPU tasks to the GPU, something that is still blowing us away this gen and will continue to do before next gen even gets here.

So that means they were actually taking away from development of their next game. If Horizon Forbidden West does not release this year its because they wasted 7 months on an ALREADY released PC game in 2020.

@Ralizah Bad take. This time 13 months ago Sony put on a next gen event where their own games Spiderman Miles Morales, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Demon's Souls Remake, Destruction All Stars and Returnal were revealed AND are all out right now.
And lets not forget that these games have Ray tracing and other bells and whistles.
Meanwhile Fable, State of Decay 3 and Perfect Dark still haven't a single ingame screenshot to their name with the 2 former revealed this time 12 months ago now.
And this is 3 years after daddy Phil said they won't ever announce a game too early ever again.
And the 2 major games Xbox has this year has pretty much no real ingame practical ray tracing, Halo and Forza. A year after the console comes out and they couldn't even get this stuff ready for the games' launches.
So let's be smart and actually look at what the competition is doing by comparison, which is practically nothing 8 months into the gen.
Sony could announce anything tomorrow that has a release date for this year going by what they did this time last year.

Yeah Microsoft did say a similar thing with Halo....................... and didn't Microsoft show off an Xbox DAMAGING piece of terrible gameplay that killed any hype there was for next gen Xbox, killed even more by the feedback and then delay of Halo???
At least Horizon 2 was so gorgeous looking, not a single person said it looks like a last gen game like Halo Infinite, or even a current gen game at that. That's because a 2021 PS4 game is STILL going to be incredible looking it turns out.
And another thing. Xbox talked up supporting Xbone for years....... and yet they kill production of 2 of their Xbone skus months ago because they are selling so bad. One of them was Xbonex, a console not even 2.5 years old yet. PS4 Pro is still selling strong nearly 4 years later and being made. Why is nobody talking about THAT mixed messaging?

Why the picture of the Square Enix PS5 game for this article? There are PLENTY of times Square Enix simply ignore Xbox with the release of one of their games. Even games that come to PS4, Switch and PC with no Xbox release and sight. Sony and money has NOTHING to do with it in these instances.

I don't get it. We were supposed to have the game already at this point before it had been pushed to May. Very likely 99.9% of the work was done and right now, the game should have pretty much been going gold. So how can it be pushed back indefinitely unless there was problems even WITHOUT covid-19.
Or was it the fact it has a pandemic in the game? It couldn't be issues with releasing the game. People are moaning about FFVII Remake's release but its a tiny percentage. I still haven't received my 1st Class Soldier Edition of FFVII Remake and I doubt I would have without a global pandemic lol.

Better clarity on the PS4 BC would have helped. And SHOW ANYTHING that wasn't a static presentation slide. They were my only gripes. Even the PS4 reveal had a small tech demo to demonstrate the big deal of offloading CPU tasks to the GPU, something that is still blowing us away this gen and will continue to do before next gen even gets here.
