And no, all games on internal drive doesn't update automatically at all, not if they haven't been played for quite some time.

Edit: And I don't agree with your take on the external drives, that is not how my PS5 is working. ALL games on my start page update if they release a patch, no matter where I installed them.

@Voltan Could be true, but funny enough my console updated Pinball FX3 for me a few weeks ago and I haven't played that since last summer.

@belmont Yes I think the total savefiles your allowed is 1000. I had to remove a ton of Driveclub saves back in the day because they bloated up the cloud. Now I only have one plus the gameprofile with all the stats saved.
Check if you have some old saves you don't like and delete them for good, better to have new gamesaves then old that you will never use. (probably).

Not true my friend, it updates all games on start page automatically, but if you have like me, almost 6 TB of games installed it will not update the games in my library unless I start that perticular game in question.
During the last week my PS5 have autoupdated AC Shadows, PoE 1 & 2, Diablo 4, GoW Ragnarök when I turned on my PS5.
Maybe it doesn't work if you put it in sleepmode, that might be a bug. But it should work even then.
TLDR: It works.

Edit: Have you checked under system Settings: Automatic Updates under Saved Data and Settings for games/apps??
You might have turned it off by accident?

I bought it and played from day one but the weird inventory system made me drop it for better games.

I just preordered Deliver At All Costs, a perfect little "lay lazy in the summer with my portal-kind of game" releasing at the end of may '25.
Not every game need to be enourmous blockbusters a'la Death Stranding 2 or AC: Shadows. For me gaming is a perfect mix between all of the above, just missing Sony's 3rd person adventures lately. Guess I can sort of count in Death Stranding 2 in that category?

I don't support M$ in any way, shape or form. Buying up studios so they can bruteforce their way onto PlayStation, no thanks. And demand you have an M$account attached to your PS5 , hell no LOL. This site feels like a new xboxsite for people like me that have ZERO interest in xbox and their crappy games. And as I'm in a group boycotting U.S as much as possible due to Trump and his regime, it's even easier to ignore M$ and all of their (imho) boring games. I still need to see proof of actual A.I in 2025!! So far it's only programs that are doing what they are told in the code. Actual A.I = Artificial intelligence. I see no proof of actual "intelligence" in todays programs. But they are great at copying others work without permission.
If we all could stop calling it "Artificial intelligence" until the "intelligence"-part is actually true.
Todays so called A.I is more or less a "random code generator" within set frames and not much actual intelligence.

No I don't have the link since I deleted it. It was on Chrome on my workPC so it doesn't save deleted items in my apps. (security issue)
But I know the post was made on the EU PS blog before the merge of the EU and U.S blog in 2020 (that happened 2020 if I remember correctly.)

For anyone else wondering if you can update it for ten bucks, if you have a PSplus subscription, use PC, go to your Profile picture and click on "gamelibrary" in the dropdown menu.
Here you can see all the games you own and the ones with a PS + is claimed monthly games and/or PS plus subscription games.
All games without the +sign is considered owned and and can be upgraded with $10 upgradepath if available.

Hell I even sent videos (hours) of gameplay to the developers and they didn't know how this could happen!

Edit Having a bossfight with an level 2 weapon that makes 0.00000001 damage to the boss aint "ruthless", it's bad game design.

@Brundleflies21 I don't know how to make this a short explanation, but while I on one hand agree with your entire comment, on the other hand you must realise that even the creators behind Returnal made a PS Blog post about how the game was unintentionally too hard for some players. When you install the game it makes a "worldseed" setting up your game and it can be "easy" (not really) like 1 out of 10 or it can be like mine, more like 9,10 out of 10. No matter how much I play it, I never, like NEVER get any higher level weapons!
And reinstalling doesn't help as they explained in that post, as the world seed is forever attached to my PS account. Stupid design for a trophyhunter like myself.
They tried to fix it with patch 2.0 I think it was, but that didn't solve the bad weapondrops on my account...
I contacted their support and they really really tried to help but in the end it was just like: "sorry dude, it sucks but you're f**ked"...

Just checked Horizon Zero Dawn and I got both "Horizon Zero Dawn" PS4 and now Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered PS5 after I did the $10 upgrade last year.
So you should keep the old game.
Just checked Last Of Us Part 2 also, same thing, got both new PS5 version and my original PS4 version.
All bought digitally by the way

@VaultGuy415 If you got it thought the PS5 collection you should be able to use the 10$ upgrade option as you own the game forever. But if you only played it through recent plus catalog you are just in fact "renting" it so the upgrade wont work. I hope that makes sense.

I will never beat Returnal as the game never give me any serious wepon upgrades. I love the feel and look of the game, but I REALLY hope Saros will be a little easier overall. (= more balanced)

99% was sequels, rehashed ideas and just plain boring imho.
Saros was the only thing that caught my attention for real. And I will buy the 10$ upgrade for Days Gone Remastered so we might finally get a Days Gone 2!!
Game studios need to stop copy eachother to death and start making innovative fun games again in my opinion.

Great but too short game. I replay it now and then just for fun. The PS4-era was my favourite for sure. This game, Driveclub, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Last Of Us 2, Horizon, God Of War (2018) and so on. Win after win the whole generation. I loved it.
PS5-era... well, one day we get some games of that caliber on a regular basis I hope
