Yep, it's here! Final Fantasy XVI has an atmospheric new trailer, which places a heavy focus on the game's setting. It's largely made up of gameplay footage, and it goes without saying that the title continues to look fantastic in terms of presentation. There's also some particularly explosive combat shots near the end.

"It has been fifteen hundred years since the fall of our forebears, and Valisthea has been slowly dying ever since. Darkness spreads as day gives way to twilight, the Mothers' flame now all but a flicker. And as the fringes fade, the people flock to the Mothercrystals," reads the official press release. Sounds moody!

What's more, Square Enix reiterates that Final Fantasy XVI is targeting a summer 2023 release date — which suggests that everything's going according to plan behind the scenes.
