Uncharted: The Lost Legacy PS5 PS4 PlayStation

Last week we brought you word that Sony is building a new internal development team in partnership with PSS Visual Arts. Based in San Diego, this secretive support studio previously contributed to the recently released The Last of Us: Part I, from developer Naughty Dog. Now another job listing in the San Diego area has given us more food for thought, indicating that this mysterious team will be "co-developing an exciting new project with Naughty Dog in a beloved franchise.”

According to reporting from Bloomberg last year, Visual Arts had initially wanted to remake the first Uncharted game, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, but due to the nature of that title and the work that would have been required, priorities were instead shifted to The Last of Us: Part I. Drake's Fortune could legitimately use a remake to bring it in line with the rest of the franchise, and so perhaps this is something we might see further down the line?

While it is entirely possible that the San Diego team is working on some kind of mind-blowing next instalment in the Jak & Daxter franchise, the smart money says this is the oft-rumoured return of Uncharted. As anyone who beat Uncharted 4 knows, the stage is set for an all-new era of adventuring, and one we at least are ready to revisit.

What do you think is going on in San Diego? What do you think is the "beloved franchise" the job listing refers to? Let us know in the comments section below.
