@ShadowRJ SEGA already confirmed that the PS5 version of Persona 6 is the only version that will have a physical release, so it will come out next year.
SEGA explaining why they didn't became LI-SEGA yet.
Anyway this was the right move. Most people who play Live-Service games don't care for SEGA, KONAMI or even Capcom and the majority who do want single player games, so I hope they will give us more games like Golden Axe and Streets of Rage, and bring back Skies of Arcadia SEGA.
Already pre-ordered, people who fear micro transactions in this game need to get better informed, this game was made for those who don't like to play on mobile and gacha mechanics.
Meh to ok. Seeing more of Final Fantasy Resonance and Rev.Noir was great for me and Rhapsody in Scarlet appealed to me. I also liked to see more of Gundam Rogue Orbit also looks fantastic. Where the Seeds Fall also looked interesting.
@ShadowRJ I think Mega Man fans thought Pragmata was a more realistic reboot of the Mega Man franchise, something like... well what Sonic 06 was supposed to be.
First she says that they're going to cautiously move this forward, the word cautiously implies to me that they are not certain if ceasing physical media was the right decision.
Second, she said the reason they are ceasing physical media is because digitalisation is progressing. Didn't they say before the reason they are stopping making physical discs is because costumer preferences have changed? Now they changed the reason.
Nonsense, this is just an excuse Yoshida is using to sell more games of what should have been one. They want to do what Nintendo did with Golden Sun in that, instead of selling the whole game they divide one game in multiple games to profit more.
Dragon Quest 7 is bigger than any Final Fantasy and they remade it as one game and even with the content that was cut from the original it's still bigger, so this Final Fantasy Remake games need to be divided to multiple games to be made is just greed.
Many who were PlayStation fans since the PS1 days went to PC not because Sony's Blockbuster games were released to the platform but because those games didn't appeal to them.
Xenoblade 2 only sold 1 million copies in its first month, which doesn't come close to what Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing and Pokémon sell in the same timespan, four games that sell more than any Sony game, yet Nintendo allowed Monolith Soft to co-work on Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
If Metroid was owned by Sony, the franchise would be long dead.
Also shutting down Japan Studio was a short sighted decision, because it did not take into account that many fans would be fed up with those cinematic games, and want something else in the future which seems more and more to be the case now and Japan Studio would be that alternative. People tastes in games change with the times.
Plus Japan Studio games were cheap to make, extremely cheap compared to what Sony's biggest games cost. Not to mention Sony now struggles to release a first party game every year now and games like Intergalactic and Wolverine take years to make. Japan Studio games could have been easily released in the years Sony didn't release a first party game.
Japan Studio was called Sony Computer Entertainment when it existed before being renamed, so Japan Studio making a game was like Sony making a game themselves. Japan Studio was Sony's identity as a video game company.
Mat Piscatella showing data without contextualising again and this time showing 11 days data to prove a point even though 11 days isn't enough time to prove anything.
This is also the US market only which is one of the least profitable markets for physical media. In the European Union and Japan the physical market is still strong.
It's easy to say that 85% of the sales are digital when you also include digital games that don't have a physical version and the majority of digital games don't have a physical version.
How can we players buy a physical version when whe don't have the choice to do so?
@get2sammyb I mean if it only affects new games, developers will have to adapt to the new laws, developers comfortability cannot come at the expense of consumer rights.
@get2sammyb Stop Killing Games have been very vocal that the only games their fight will affect are new games that aren't released yet. So any online game that is already in the market whether paid or free to play can be shutdown without any offline mode.
What this means is that developers only have to worry developing their future online games in a way they can be played offline if the servers get shutdown.
I prefer Wild Arms 4 over 3. Wild Arms 4 and 5's Hex system is one of the best turn based systems in JRPG's history. 5's is better but 4's is also not bad, even though losing a turn when you move a character to another hex was a bad idea.
Happy to see Wild Arms 4 to come to modern PlayStation wasn't expecting it, but I'm glad it did. I hope we'll see 5, Alters Code f and XF soon as well.
Give us Shin Megami Tensei 1, 2 and 4 Remakes please ATLUS.
Persona 1 was my first Persona, but it would be hard to get back to. Persona 3 was the first Persona that actually made me care for the Personas even though they were not the main focus of the game, because with 1 and 2 I just called them without even knowing which persona is the best and I usually used the starter Persona.
I hope they get re-released on modern systems but I doubt I will replay them not because I don't like them but because my interest in the series is fading and I prefer Shin Megami Tensei.

Re: Spoilers for Major Upcoming Games Made Public in Achievements Leak
@Questionable_Duck I see, I was wondering why XBox wouldn't have a physical version but that would explain it since XBox isn't very popular in Japan.
Re: Spoilers for Major Upcoming Games Made Public in Achievements Leak
@ShadowRJ We only found out about it last month and I believe SEGA would know about the ceasing of physical media months before us.

Definitely one of the games I'm most excited about. I hope it gets released next year so I can get it on disc. I at least expect a physical release.
Re: You Can Now Try Final Fantasy Resonance for Yourself with Free Playable Demo on PS5
I will definitely play the demo, but I will not carry over my save file. I want to play the game from the beginning again once I get the full game.

Besides that nothing else captured my interest.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Will Ship on One PS5 Disc, Digital Download Required
I'm so happy that I'm not interested in this Retrilogy.
What's the point of the disc if the game isn't fully there?
Square Enix has no excuse for this, they should have released the game with two discs like the others.
Re: When Is PlayStation's State of Play for September 2026?
@belmont They started the Japanese one in December last year. This will be the second State of Play Japan.

Re: Sony Knows How You Feel About No More Discs, But It's Not Going to Reverse Course
Two things I want to point out here.

@DennisReynolds You will see, you aren't thinking as logically as you think you are.
Re: 'They Wait for This Storm to Pass': No Chance of Sony Walking Back Its Decision to Kill Discs, Warns Analyst
@DennisReynolds "If people aren't buying a PS6 its because of the price"
It will be because of both, and companies can make mistakes even with data.
Also those players you mentioned play where their friends are and aren't as loyal as the ones that know about this news.
Again you are heavily underestimating how important SONY's most enthusiastic audience are.
Re: 'They Wait for This Storm to Pass': No Chance of Sony Walking Back Its Decision to Kill Discs, Warns Analyst
@DennisReynolds You might cave in, but I guarantee you, the number of people who will not buy a PS6 will be significant.
And you are not using logic, it's not true that only 15% of physical games are sold, the split is closer.
Re: 'They Wait for This Storm to Pass': No Chance of Sony Walking Back Its Decision to Kill Discs, Warns Analyst
This backlash will not go away anytime soon.
A lot of people here are underestimating how much gamers still want physical media. Especially you @DennisReynolds
Re: 'They Wait for This Storm to Pass': No Chance of Sony Walking Back Its Decision to Kill Discs, Warns Analyst
Another one who makes his decisions based on the spreadsheets.
Even if we were the minority, the backlash is so great that politicians will interfere.
Plus a lot of digital only players are against this as well, they aren't only the "this doesn't affect me" crowd.
Also if Project Helix will have a disc drive as it is rumoured now, SONY will reverse its decision.

I hope when/if Wild Arms 5 comes to the PlayStation Store SONY doesn't force us to find every treasure in the game to get the Platinum.
Re: Wild Arms 4 Returns on PS Plus Premium, But Its PS2 Reviews Were Ruthless
I prefer Wild Arms 4 over 3. Wild Arms 4 and 5's Hex system is one of the best turn based systems in JRPG's history. 5's is better but 4's is also not bad, even though losing a turn when you move a character to another hex was a bad idea.
