They probably don't want to announce the PlayStation version because they want players to buy the game now, but I'm sure the game will come to PlayStation in the future.
It's sad to se a Sony subsidiary not supporting the PlayStation from the beginning though.
If you try to please everybody, you will please no one.
I honestly hope that he means that they are trying to make different IPs that might appeal to different type of players instead of changing the genre of their established IPs. I would welcome this decision, because while sticking to the most profitable product might be lucrative in the short term, there will be a time where it will not be profitable anymore, so creating different kind of products is a good decision. Variety in products is always a good thing.
This being said I would love a new Unicorn Overlord game, I know Vanillaware doesn't want to make sequels (Hironobu Sakaguchi would feel at home there) and the director of the game left Vanillaware, but he also said he would love to continue to do more with the IP and maybe he creates a new studio where SEGA and Atlus handles the IP to him since they own the IP and not Vanillaware.
But if they change how their IPs play, they will alienate their core fanbase and new players are always a gamble since they aren't as attached to the franchises as long time fans are. If a franchise is good, new players will come naturally.
That being said I already noticed Shin Megami Tensei V to be much lighter in tone than SMT III and SMT IV and closer in tone with Persona, also being easier, which suggests ATLUS tried to attract the Persona crowd into the franchise.
I hope they don't ignore there fanbase just to get new fans to experience their games, that rarely works and it's highly likely that it would hurt business, but we will have to wait what will happen in the future.
I want a sequel, but I wish Team Asobi would expand their team so they could work on other games besides Astro Bot. Would be nice other Japan Studio games to come back.
I also wish Polyphony Digital would make another Omega Boost, but unfortunately it is pretty must impossible that it will ever happen and will only make Gran Turismo games.
Exclusives are always important for consoles, games are also best made if it's developed for one system and unlike what many people say on the internet, exclusives are pro-consumer and not anti-consumer since they give the ones who buy them a better experience than if they were multiplatform.
Reduced price will not make a difference in Japan when the console is not a hybrid system and there is barely any Japanese games made by Sony themselves and exclusive to PlayStation.
The PS Vita Version of Freedom Wars sold more copies than the PS4 version of God of War in Japan.
@PuppetMaster Yeah for me classic is Final Fantasy I-X since they are very close when it comes to feel, while FF XI-XVI are nothing alike with each other.
I got 13 out of 15, nice. The only ones I did get wrong was where in what region the PS5 was released 1 week after and if the launch PS5 is heavier than launch PS3.
@Nepp67 Just because it was considered the best it doesn't mean that it was. I played FF14 and found it boring, Phantasy Star Online 2 is a much better MMORPG.
Final Fantasy X is great, but the lack of a more open field that we could explore, that we can't fly with an airship and the badly designed minigames made me not putting the game in my Top 5 Final Fantasy games.
I bought Metaphor because I didn't believe that SEGA and ATLUS would release a definite edition later believing it would get DLCs instead sincePersona 3 Reload got DLCs as well instead a definite version. But I might be wrong.
I'm fine with my PlayStation 5 for now, I don't think I will need a PlayStation 6 in a near future, but you never know I don't think the PlayStation 5 will be my last console but I have no need right now to buy a new system.
In my opinion the PlayStation 6 should be released in 2030 in the earliest but Sony most likely will release it in 2028.
Also I love my PlayStation 5 library. Most of them aren't exclusive, but games are games, even though most of them are retro.
@Ainu20 Unfortunately that's true, but it would be still nice to add them.
There are also some games that were released for PlayStation that still have to released on modern PlayStation, like the Wild Arms games I mentioned, Alundra, Folklore or Breath of Fire 3 and 4.
If RPGs like Skies of Arcadia, Wild Arms 4 and 5, Chrono Trigger, the Breath of Fire games, Lufia, Baiten Kaitos, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey would come to PlayStation that would be amazing.
Or platfomers like MegaMan the Wily Wars, the Mickey Illusion games would also be neat.

Re: Maybe There Is Still Hope for the Final Fantasy 13 Trilogy on PS5, After All
Final Fantasy XIII is my favourite modern Final Fantasy so a release on PlayStation 4 and 5 would be welcome.
Would definitely get the Platinum again even though the "get all weapons and accessories" trophy is too much of a grind.
I know this is off-topic Pushsquare but, no mention about Dimps message about Freedom Wars's Remastered first anniversary on Twitter?
Re: No Plans for PS5 Version of Acclaimed Tactics RPG Published by Sony Subsidiary
@dskatter Mission half accomplished I guess .

Re: More Digimon Games Incoming as Time Stranger's Success Sees Dev Team Expand
Awesome to hear, the Digimon Story games are better than anything Pokémon I played and yes that means Legends Arceus.
I can't wait to play another Story game.
Re: Sony Patents AI Assistant That Can Help You Beat Games, or Just Beat Them For You
Demon's Soul Platinum Trophy will become more common.

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Month (December 2025)
I voted for Yakuza 0. A fantastic game.

Happy New Year to everyone.
Re: PS6 Could Be Delayed Due to RAM Price Chaos
Good news, I wish it would be delayed to 2030. This generation needs more time.

Exclusives are always important for consoles, games are also best made if it's developed for one system and unlike what many people say on the internet, exclusives are pro-consumer and not anti-consumer since they give the ones who buy them a better experience than if they were multiplatform.
Also Layden should have compared Mario to Astro.
Re: NiGHTS Comes to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for Free on Christmas Eve
Christmas is the most logical date. It's the most fitting time to add Nights.
Re: Game of the Year: #10 - Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
@Deadlyblack Nights isn't in the game yet, but probably will in Christmas.
Re: Game of the Year: #10 - Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Nice to see Sonic Drift 6 getting so much love.
Re: PS Portal Gets So Much Better Today in Huge UI, Cloud Streaming Update
@Krazybone Was considering getting one for this year, but isn't possible. Maybe next year.

I want the Wily Wars on PlayStation.
Re: PlayStation Wrap-Up 2025 Live Now, Get Your Gaming Stats for the Year

Re: Five Years of PS5 - How Well Do You Know Sony's Console?
@PuppetMaster Or Alundra, Gravity Rush, Legend of Dragoon, Ape Escape.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@PuppetMaster Yeah for me classic is Final Fantasy I-X since they are very close when it comes to feel, while FF XI-XVI are nothing alike with each other.
Re: PS5 Is Edging Out the Switch 2 in the UK So Far This Year
Seems weird comparing a 12 month sales with a 6 month one but it's still good news to see the PS5 selling well.
PlayStation is the strongest console brand in Europe so this isn't surprising but after 5 years seeing it still being strong is fantastic news indeed.
I wonder if PS5 will sell close to PS4 numbers, if not out selling it.
Re: Video: All the PS5 Games We Think Are 10/10
Astro Bot is a 11/10.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@PuppetMaster FFVII is classic though. Unless you're talking about the Retrilogy which aren't the same games.
Re: Five Years of PS5 - How Well Do You Know Sony's Console?
@PuppetMaster Making quizzes, about PlayStation games that Sony doesn't do anything anymore would be nice.
Re: Five Years of PS5 - How Well Do You Know Sony's Console?

Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@Nepp67 It was luck, but I will stop talking about FFXIV because this article is about FFX.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@Nepp67 FFXIV was a one time thing and a luck one. Every other modern FF failed and the majority of Final Fantasy fans want turn based combat back.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@Nepp67 Just because it was considered the best it doesn't mean that it was. I played FF14 and found it boring, Phantasy Star Online 2 is a much better MMORPG.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@johncalmc It is.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@Nepp67 FF14 is declining in popularity and the franchise as whole is for years.
Re: PS5 Sales in Japan Quadruple as New Model Launches
Great news to see the PlayStation doing better over there. I hope Sony recovers some ground if the PlayStation 6 comes with a portable device.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@Nepp67 Sure and let the franchi's profits shrink even more with later games.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
@Rich33 Mainline Final Fantasy should always be single player turn based games.
Re: Final Fantasy X Was the 'Ultimate Perfection' of the Series, Says Dragon Quest Creator
Final Fantasy X is great, but the lack of a more open field that we could explore, that we can't fly with an airship and the badly designed minigames made me not putting the game in my Top 5 Final Fantasy games.
But it's a good game.
Final Fantasy IX is the best though.
Still Chrono Trigger beats any Final Fantasy.

Re: 'Financial Viability Is a Big Deal': Emulation Studio on Why More Retro Games Aren't Coming to PS Plus Premium
@4fold I'm waiting to start the game for years XD.
Re: 'Financial Viability Is a Big Deal': Emulation Studio on Why More Retro Games Aren't Coming to PS Plus Premium
@4fold Sad to hear, if it's common then there might have been a problem with copying the data to the disc. Or do you mean the treatment?
Re: 'Financial Viability Is a Big Deal': Emulation Studio on Why More Retro Games Aren't Coming to PS Plus Premium
@4fold Same, I would buy Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. I always wanted to play those.

Re: State of Play Announced for 11th November, Focus on Japanese PS5 Games
Now this is what I want to see, not much hope for a reveal of Sony's own Japanese games though.
Re: PS Portal Gets So Much Better Today in Huge UI, Cloud Streaming Update
I wish it would also run physical games, but that's unfortunately too much to ask.
That being said it's amazing how this system surpassed everyone's expectations, even Sony's.
Re: Virtua Fighter 5 Arrives on PS5 with New Single Player Mode and a $10 Upgrade Path
@Stepan Sorry, for the late reply.
This is true but I do think since the new Virtua Fighter is made by Ryu Ga Gotoku there is a strong possibility that it can be a success.
Re: Virtua Fighter 5 Arrives on PS5 with New Single Player Mode and a $10 Upgrade Path
The love Virtua Fighter is getting lately is awesome. I hope this momentum will last for a long time.
Re: PlayStation Is Trying to Scrub Any Mention of Its Failed Concerts from the Internet
Either it's the price of the tickets or the Music isn't memorable. Or both.
Meanwhile the Sonic Symphonic concerts are a hit.
Re: 'Astro Bot Has So Much Potential': Sony Merch Boss Predicts Big Things for Platformer
@PuppetMaster Yes those ones.
And yes Classic PlayStation needs to come back.
Re: 'Astro Bot Has So Much Potential': Sony Merch Boss Predicts Big Things for Platformer
@PuppetMaster I remember figures of Rebecca and Avril from Wild Arms 5. We need those franchise back or Folklore.
