It sounds like Bandai Namco will be pushing for more Digimon games, off the back of Digimon Story Time Stranger's success.
Time Stranger itself took around eight years to develop and eventually release, and naturally, the publisher would rather not get bogged down in such a lengthy production cycle for future projects.
And so, it's apparently looking to expand its Digimon-related operations. This is according to producer Ryosuke Hara, who seems more than happy to give franchise fans some good news to start the new year with.

In an interview with 4Gamer (as translated by Automaton), Hara reveals that Bandai Namco is "currently placing a strong emphasis on collaboration with Toei Animation and other affiliated companies when it comes to Digimon".
He continues: "This time [with Time Stranger], it took us eight years, but the Digimon team is now gradually expanding in scale and working on establishing a structure that will allow us to grow in a sustainable way."
Again, it's that last part of the quote that should get Digimon enthusiasts excited. If the publisher's willing to invest additional resources, then it's almost certainly ready to consider pitches for new Digimon projects — if it hasn't already.
Speaking of which, Hara says that the team now has "various things in mind". So while any brand new announcements could still be years off, it definitely sounds as though things are moving behind the scenes.
