Rockstar's GTA+ Membership Putting Its Price Up

Some companies' greed knows no bounds.

Oh look another subscription service I won’t be subscribing too 😎

This whole subscription thing will get just as out of control as we see on streaming.

Makes me really worry about my potential enjoyment of gta 6.

Buy GTA 6 Standard Edition for the base game for £89

And for a small sum join GTA+ and get access to:

• The full single player map
• GTA Online
• 10 extra missions
• The full game
• Updates 2 years before base game players

They really are scum.

Fulfilling greed is one of the highest sins a man can do.

They'll all have their own subscription soon but there's no chance I'm ever getting another, I've been scaling back all my subs as they're all worthless to me

Guess what? It works. People will still buy it despite all of this moaning on threads such as these. GTA will continue to make billions.

For all of you moaning and complaining its just a $2 increase, even if it was $6 to $10 a month it would still be affordable. Now if it was from $6 to $20 a month now thats a reason to complain

Come on guys. They only made $8.5 billion off of GTA5. How are they supposed to survive?

Some people seem to be missing the point why others are complaining. I bet launch date of GTA6 will set some new records.

@LifeGirl it's about choice. If this goes on, in the future we'll have no other option than to subscribe to whatever in order to enjoy it. And why? Because it's very lucrative. Just a continuous monthly steady revenue. And yes most, or some of us will probably do it, but they'll probably do it relactuntely. This harms the consumer -producer relationship in the end. And because of that people will eventually turn away because they feel cheated and because of thát Rockstar will go bankrupt in 10 years...just predicting the future haha.

As someone who played MMOs for years on and off, the pricing is not that bad.

Everybody easily forgets the 10 years of free content and updates for GTA Online.

I'll stick to buying games at discount rather than subscribing which basically just games rental.

@ApostateMage exactly, no one has to subscribe to this to still enjoy rockstar titles or the free updates.

It won't be long before a game's price tag will get you a 1 year subscription to play the game and then you have to shell out more to keep playing. Granted some games have already done that only they haven't had the option to pay more as they shut down after a year.

Who would sign up to this lol. Yakuza, Mafia and Sleeping Dogs are all better games.

What they should do to make it at least a smidgen worthwhile is add all their classics to the service! WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR GTA STORIES YOU KNOW! 🤦‍♂️

I feel like if you accept and pay these kinds of hikes, you haven’t thought about the larger ramifications for the industry. Predatory games-as-a-service nonsense. Embarrassing

GTAV was an average game at best. All bells and whistles, very little meat. They barely fixed the broken combat controls from the previous games.

@nocdaes apples to oranges. People get fired because the company isn't making enough profit, so they have to let people go. GTA is one of the most profitable games of all time. Rockstar doesn't need a subscription on top of all the money they're making from copies of the main game and GTA online. It's pure greed.

Xbox Game Pass (Core and Ultimate) and PS+ (Essential, Extra, Premium) will surely go up again after EA Play and GTA+ went up

@LifeGirl some of us have principles at least, I never preorder, never buy day one, and when companies start taking the piss....I just avoid their products, even something like gta6.
Just wish others would do the same. The only language these companies understand is money.

@Randinator123 looks like you've missed the point, more to it than just the cost alone, people have every right to complain. Half the reason gaming is in an absolute state is because of too many people saying "it's only...." unfortunately.

My first thought is who with any sense would pay for this anyway?

@Flaming_Kaiser I'm interested, in a curious kind of way, but I really don't like my video games or my anime to be too close to real life, I'm more a fantasy guy, so I've thought about it, but there's always something else I want to play more. 🤷‍♂️

Do I need to go on? It's business and we have all signed up to all of it in our droves!

@Cutmastavictory that is the problem, there is none, while everyone falls for the hype, rockstar are looking for more ways to bleed the fanbase dry when the next game launches, the more we give this next game attention the more they will take the mick and continue the greed
