PS5 Bug Removes Playtime Tracker from Physical Games Only 1

In a week where Sony signalled its intent to kill physical games, it could have done without this bug rearing its ugly head.

Multiple people are reporting that the playtime tracker has been removed from their console – but only in the case of disc-based games.

I haven’t been able to replicate the issue myself, although I’ve seen several people mention it on social media this weekend.

Some have reported being able to fix the issue by deleting and re-installing the games; others claim PS Support is aware of the glitch and is actively working on a fix.

It’s likely all related to an error which saw random releases added to players’ ‘Recently Played’ list. The company initially acted by removing the entire widget from everyone’s account.

Personally, I don’t think this is a nefarious attempt at making the physical experience worse, although the timing is terrible in that respect.

I think this is merely another example of the PSN being held together by duct tape and pieces of string, and falling apart at the seams.

Hopefully the company is able to issue a solution ASAP.
