I do like this kind of games, but this one looks... strange. An Mostly Positive on Steam. Guess, I'll wait for a discount to have absolutely no regrets after laying my hands on it.
I've spent dozens of hours with Slay the Spire - great game for card games and rogue-likes lovers: lots of variability and builds, perfect thing to spent 1-2 hours between different AAAs.
Always thought that enjoying games is something about you and the games.
I prefer HFW, because all the Souls are not my type of things. But I could hardly imagine myself writing throughout the internet that Elden Ring is bad and giving it 0/10 everywhere.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is amazing. Had lots of fun playing it, and the game looks like a real modern cartoon - insane amount of details, wonderful animations and design in general.
But in my opinion it lacks a little bit of something to become a masterpiece. Can't even say what it is - some more tension and plot-twists, more weapons, side activities or... whatever.
Great game even despite being 10 out of 10. Bravo, Insomniac!
@lolwhatno your comment sounds absolutely normal, cause everything we are doing here is just sharing own thoughts with others. And I understand your opinion.
The problem is that Jason's message was spread by different medias and created much fuss among fans and players. While Sony stays silent about first-party games such words could not attract no attention. In my opinion he should have corrected expectations in advance. And he should have been accurate with his own words. Yeah, I know, that my expectations are only my expectations, but judging by all the comments - there was enough place for misunderstanding.
I hoped they would tell (or better show) something about the game they are currently working on... And all we've got - a few words about the team, about goals and other pure-marketing and non-informative stuff. Disappointed.
>When we set up Deviation Games it was deviate away from the normal, the boring, the humdrum – the things we’ve seen a hundred times
Yes, we've heard that hundred times, too.
@TheRedComet loading times during fast travel were insane in some PS4 games. This was the main reason I didn't use this function in some titles. It even took me much less time to arrive to desired location by foot then using fast travel...
On the main subject - PS4 screens of Horizon Forbidden West look great!
@lolwhatno choice is always better than no choice. The problem is that at this moment Ray tracing always comes with sacrifices - FPS/resolution/draw distance/quality of some textures and so on. As for me it is not a fair trade. But tastes differ.
@ATaco DLC is superb and I did like it more than the original game. You can clearly see the quality jump even though Horizon Zero Dawn itself was already awesome.
He is right at some point - speaking about gameplay mechanics many (if not all) things in Rift Apart could be done on e.g. PS4 (even though I doubt PS3 would be capable of them). But devs would have to sacrifice so much other things like effects, models' quality and etc. Is it worth it? In my opinion - no.
@Rash It has been announced some time ago, they only set a date for early access during Gamescom. I've even read some gameplay previews about it a months or two ago.
I played it on PC some time ago. A very chilling but catchy strategy indeed.
You have different types of buildings and a very limited area to place them (a small island). Each building gives you a bunch of points and you need to reach a certain points' checkpoint to finish the level and travel to another island. But each building has its own synergies and requirements, e.g.: lumber mill gives you additional points from all trees nearby. But you can place some villagers' houses instead of those trees. Which benefit from different types of entertainment - saloons, temples, etc. But mining plants would force houses nearby to give you less points. The game is basically about synergies and correct placement. After finishing each level you can expand your building roster choosing a set of thematic buildings - e.g. living buildings, entertainment, productions and so on.
As a conclusion - some nice game mechanics and neat gameplay to have a break from work or some big AAA titles.
@Number09 kinda strange position as for me. Valhalla's DLC's are mostly independent story arcs, you don't even need to complete the original storyline to enjoy them. Don't you play e.g. Diablo/Path of Exile/Destiny/Borderlands or other games supported with additional content for several years after release? It's the modern reality, that most of the games get a plenty of changes and additions afterwards to boost sales and keep people entertained.
I love seeing more and more people from mass-media space being familiar with gaming culture. It's kind natural, cause both consoles and PCs have become much more affordable nowadays than they used to be some time ago. Maybe once gamers' generation grow up we will face quotes like "video-games cause violence and destroy humankind" no more.
BTW, Russian gold medalist in women 10 metre shooting had School of the Cat medallion from The Witcher 3 equipped, which brought her luck. Also claimed to love the series and RPG's in general.
Not my cup of tea, to be honest... I did like the setting itself, atmosphere, characters, story, but could not get into the gameplay. Perhaps, I’ll give it a try once more after the PS5 version is released.
@KidBoruto I used to like the series and had a couple of good evenings playing it either solo or coop. But DS remake/reboot news would be something interesting to read about in the newsfeed or on Pushsquare - I am not ready to spend that much time looking at new FIFA loot-boxes and updated textures.
To be honest, I see no reasons to watch upcoming EA play now. Being a huge fan of Bioware I was looking forward to any new information about Dragon Age or Mass Effect - but there would be none. Something interesting about Star Wars? Not this time. Feeling disappointed right now.

Totally in love with those wordplays on Push Square.

Re: Hands On: Returnal's New Co-Op and Endless Modes Reinvigorate a PS5 Great
Guess, would start Returnal after beating HFW. Everything I read about it sounds amazing and the disc is already waiting for it's turn.
Sadly have so little time to play recently due to work issues

Modern gaming society is too toxic
Re: Looks Like Apex Legends' PS5 Version Will Release Soon
@MJF don't know what kind of issues do you have with ps5 controller... Even aiming and shooting in fast paced shooters is just a matter of habit.

@Northern_munkey long way gone and amazing example of rising from the ashes like a phoenix. Now NMS indeed is a great game.
Re: There's 'Zero Chance' of Dying Light 2 Being Delayed Again
Recent gameplay videos disappointed me with it's graphics even though I am more into gameplay than visuals.
Guess, it would be Horizon for February, all other things would wait a bit.

Re: There'll Be No Ray Tracing in Far Cry 6 on PS5
Ray Tracing is good and it does improve some scenes in some games, but I prefer stable 60 FPS.
Re: Deep Dives from Featured Teams to Follow PS5 Showcase

Re: PS Store Essential Picks Sale Houses Many PS5, PS4 Game Deals
Civilization 6 platinum edition is now selling at a very decent price + base game + both major add-ons. Guess, this would be my choice this time.

@BoldAndBrash that's something similar to physics in movies. If everything is similar to real life there won't be any place for fun.
