@jimbouk sure, you are right. We can also remember HFW addon released this year. All of them are great games and it is hard to deliver so many games all the time. But during PS4 era we've got so many awesome stuff throughout each year (except for the launch, I guess) that I am a little bit sad nowadays. I'm in love with nearly all titles from Playstation Studios and there are hardly other games on the market which stand on the same level of quality. Hope this year is just silence before the storm... but with so little communication with players from Sony we are completely unaware of what comes next. Even in terms of one year.
@AdamNovice well, all kinds of these statements are exaggerated a bit. But many people still buy consoles because of first-party games they like. And in this term 2023 is not great. Especially in comparison with amount of Xbox games released, even if some of them are Redfall...
Guess, it is not even dev's fault: too many awesome games this year - probably every month there was something better than this game. Too easy to get lost among all the hits and blockbusters. Shame.
Well, I have no problem with PS games being ported to PC - players throughout the world and platforms deserve to enjoy these high-quality products... But with such development tempo of new games all PS5 exclusives from internal Playstation Studios will be available on PC soon and we will have nothing more here... Jim's words "we trust in this gen" and "we have the strongest line-up ever" seems a little bit exaggerative...
Had some good time during the early access of this game. But it became kinda repetitive and boring after a while. Still a lovely place if you are fond of Disney characters and cute little things and actions like fishing with Goofy or decorating sweet little houses and the whole town.
@ShogunRok wished to try it so many times, but always found something more interesting on those PS deals and sales. Might finally give it a try now, thanks for the recommendation.
This game is a miracle and 100% must-play for all RPG fans and lovers. Forget about other games (for a while at least) and give Larian's new masterpiece a try even you don't like cRPGs / turn-based combat / D&D / previous games. Years have passed since I've experienced this strange and magical feeling of enjoying something digital so much.
Completed S1 ~in August and maxed 4 characters to 100 - rogue and sorceress in pre-season, druid and necromancer in S1. Currently game's endgame is too damn boring. Nothing to do except early 70 hell-tides (to get all the ancient equipment) and dungeons for exp and glyphs. Progression is slow, better items are so rare and even though paragon does improve current build's stats and overall power each level after 80 I get more and more bored of the endless and useless loop. Even season's mechanics did not improve the situation, though hearts in jewelry are much better compared to gems.
Blizzard need to rework late-game progression and itemization, otherwise I see no need to buy new expansions even with new classes.
Have not bought this one due to mixed reviews, but gonna try this way. Low expectations, but hope it is still fun to blow some things up and shoot some NPCs down.
@NinjaNicky NMS at launch and now are two very different things. I am already waiting for Starfield reviews to read all the comparisons between this two. And I hardly doubt Starfield will be better in most of them.
@TipsySonic it can be use for screenshots, too. I remember fighting same enemies in the first Spider-man from Insomniac over and over again just to capture one shot. Now it should be much easier not to miss the right moment.
Is this one good? I see mostly mediocre reviews through-out the Internet, but have not tried Tower of Fantasy myself. Does it have lots of pay2win mechanics or players can enjoy the most of the content without throwing tons of money into it?
@Cashews lots of them, to be honest. Such problems only affects Souls-likes. And to be honest I am kinda tired of this sub-genre and wish devs made more traditional action games with non-souls battle system.
@ChakaL00T surely this is an unpleasant situation and I do understand your disappointment. But, as one can say, bad things happen. I had PS, PS2, PS3, two PS4 and now two PS5 (for me and my wife), which we use daily. All the devices work fine. I even booted my PS1 some months ago and it was OK. Hope Sony will fix your PS asap or send you a new one!
@personauser93 all core mechanics are the same. If you had no fun with Fallen Order I doubt you will handle this. You'd better try Fallen Order one more time - this game didn't catch me first time, but second chance I gave it a year later was a blast.
Never was a huge FF fan, but I'm having a blast during my first FF16 play-through. Interesting setting reminding some kind of Game of Thrones, nice battle system and awesome cinematic. On the other hand there are lack of solid RPG elements, simple level design with non-rewarding exploration and too simple side-quests - all those moments written in PushSquare review. But still one of the best games of 2023.
Season is a meditative game with non-typical gameplay... Some people like games like this, but it is not the most popular genre / setting / type of gameplay. And if you make such a game you should always consider the possibility of being a commercial failure even despite being a decent game itself. So it's executive's mistake.
@LiamCroft doesn't have any in-game purchases at the moment, I believe - there is no need to create a live-service game without a way of getting a stable income from it. Also your colleagues from PureXbox think that there will be a new paid battle-pass once season 1 comes to an end.
Anyway, thanks for the review! Glad the game seems better than I expected, even though with Diablo 4, FF16 and upcoming Baldur's Gate 3 I have literally 0 time to dive into it.
My only question is why this game is not F2P. Can hardly justify buying it for the fill price, but might try it if Ubisoft adds it to PS Plus or Game Pass.
@dark_knightmare2 you know, it's an ARPG game and it is hard to make quests with different objectives in a game, where killing monsters is 99% of gameplay. But those quest are connected with the lore and the main storyline in some way and provide additional info on everything around, which is nice. Also dungeons are not long at all - with a decent build you can do them in 3-10 minutes, which is ok. But getting to the dungeon can become repetitive in T3-T4, would prefer to start the Dungeon in one click like in D3 or PoE.
@sentiententity well, you must have never played Hades if you call it soulless. It wasn't Game of the Year for nothing.
Even though most of such rogue-likes focus on gameplay, replay value and tons of different builds, some of them have innovative mechanics and cool stories.
@LiamCroft your truth, corrected the initial comment - no new single-player games. Guess, I am too old to jump into any kind of multiplayer PVP titles and pray for more games which can be enjoyable solo.
Usually I have no problem with Playstation games being ported to PC, that’s even nice, because more people can get into all the amazing titles and have some fun. But at the moment I feel a little bit disappointed: no new single-player games from internal studios shown during the last showcase, but more and more being ported.
Can't even imagine any use to this device for me personally. I have no problem with TV access at home. During work trips I usually take a notebook with myself and I can play some game on it even via PS5 streaming with Dualsense connected. Steam Deck and Switch can play games offline and that's a big advantage. But this project Q can not do this.

@somnambulance so true. Aside from visuals it is a poor game with dull gameplay and awful story. Just sad feeling of wasted time.
