Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Heads Back to Medieval Europe on PS5

Alright, don't take it personally, but I'm tired of people complaining that grounded games feel weird.
They're supposed to. People complained about RDR2 as well. It's absolutely stellar how good it plays when it's slow and immersive.
Same for KC.
This is exactly why every game feels the same nowadays and nothing has it's own "personality" like games used to.
And it only takes a couple of hours at max to adjust to and it'll feel natural

Re: Star Wars Outlaws Will Feature Galaxy's Most Infamous Card Game

Swear to god, if Ubisoft makes an actually finished game, that doesn't play like it's all made from cardboard, where NPC's are smarter than Patrick Star, where they don't repeat the same dumb line 100 times, where exploration is actually fun, where combat isn't sponge BS, where the dialogue isn't written by a 15yo crack addict...
I will eat my socks

Though I gotta say it looks pretty decent

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite PS5 Game of 2024 So Far?

@Pixipantalon
SS got nothing on Helldivers 2 lol. It's something all Star Wars fans would've wanted, but never got. It's beautiful, it plays very well and it's a world of fun with friends.

On the other hand, I don't care for FPS nor the microtransactions, so I tried to like DD2 for 25 hours and then gave up.
Dumb dialogue, actually there is none. It's all exposition thrown at you.
Dated gameplay loop.
Same enemies every 5 seconds of travel.
You have to travel past those dumb enemies A LOT.
Making the whole experience even worse are the insanely annoying pawns who can't shut their goddamn mouths and only have dumb things to say.
Dumb fetch quests you'd see in budget RPG's around 2010.
Annoying inventory simulator you'd see in budget RPG's around 2010
(and you can't even give multiple items at once to your pawns in this crappy menu you'd see in budget RPG's around 2010).

Meanwhile there have been countless quality RPG's out since Dark Arisen and they've done both to learn from them. There's no moment's rest. Can't take in the view before a goblin screeches or your pawn try to go for darwin award

@Uromastryx
Same enemies with different colours every 5 steps, over and over and over again.
Pawns saying insanely dumb bs over and over and over again.
Storytelling is non existent, it's just exposition thrown at you again and again.
You have to trek back through the same areas again and again, encountering the same enemies again, I can go on

It's so tedious and they haven't improved all that much in a time where stellar RPG's have come out and they've taken zero notes

Re: Most PS5 Players Say 60fps Is a Must

Great. Games have no physics for 2 generations in a row. Rockstar's PS3 pinpong game has more physics than anything out today.

Now we're gonna have even less physics because everyone wants fRaMeRatEs. Even more shallow games! Great! I'm gonna use the whole PS6 era to finish my backlog it seems

Re: Helldivers 2 Is Selling at a Faster Rate Than Spider-Man 2 in the UK

My comment wasn't all that political, but here's the edited lol:

@PaperAlien
As someone who has criticized the new SM games for their lack of physics, feeling too light and characters being stupid beyond belief...
I gotta say, I'm impressed with SM2.
ONLY when swinging assist is turned off though.

Other than that it's very forced political, very dumb at times and the main characters are now ugly as hell, because...?

Anyway, I only care for the traversal and I'm impressed. Needs more weight, but it's a technical feat that's for sure. Very good stuff. Doesn't deserve to be bashed all that much

Re: Mega Man Collab Brings Exoprimal Back to Life Later This Month

Specky

@GoldenBot
That won't do lol?
Imagine if the Metroid fans reacted this way back in the day.
Things evolve. Megaman has been in mediocre obscurity for decades now. It'll either die or they'll have to do something new with the IP.
A gritty Megaman sounds awesome. What we get now is some kiddy rollerskates, not even single A garbage

Re: Mega Man Collab Brings Exoprimal Back to Life Later This Month

Specky

Come to think of it (I never think about Megaman, believe it or not), why is there not a Metroid Prime type evolution for the character?
A more adult version to actual bring some life into this character that nobody cares about anymore. FPS or a 3rd person shooter maybe.

This one just looks like a cheap knock off movie licensed game and... He's on roller skates lol?

Re: System Shock Remake Will Launch at Its Very Best on PS5, PS4

@ear_wig
If it's done right.
Often it's just forced, godawful Mary Sue characters that do the exact opposite of what they "strive for" (they don't. They don't care.) Here it doesn't matter much anyway, so it's fine

On a different note, I never understood being more immersed because a character looks more like yourself. If I have the choice, I always make female characters, but I think it's dumb. They're always supid/ deaf/ mute, etc.

I have way more immersion in polished, drawn out characters that are already actual characters like Geralt or Henry from Kingdom Come.

I'm enjoying DD2, but I think the story sucks for this exact reason

@SoNico89
I heard it was a bit of a mess and Rockstar stepped in to finish development, so I think big shots like Rockstar could pull of a sequel.

I think they do own the rights as a big tv show was being made with the same name. They had to change it because of Rockstar, so hopefully that means there's more to come, tho that was years ago

Re: Rumour: Sony to Host Big PlayStation Event Next Month

Specky

@Ralizah
That's my point though, I'm comparing them to how the big games used to be.
I like all sorts of games, but Sony's style is where it's at for me.
My point is that most of these games just fall short. They're my type of games, but they never meet their potential and gamers are always there to defend mediocrity. That's the disappointing bit.

It's all by the numbers most of the time. Very factory made. Slap some nice graphics and a framerate (because that's all people care about), a generic story and job's done.

Though I can bet Shadow of the Colossus on PS2 has more depth in terms of animations and physics. You fell of your horse in that game and you'll felt it. Spider-Man 2 PS2 same thing. Fluent wallrunning to swinging to air tricks, all physics based. Now it's hold down a button and go get a drink out of the fridge.
