Re: Talking Point: Is It Finally the Right Time to Buy PSVR2?

Specky

@Hamst88
Wait what lol it doesn't have to be both of the extremes. There's middle ground where you make an informed purchase like normal people do.

Sony has a track record of not supporting their gadgets. Franky, not having REVII is an absolute disgrace. This alone makes me want a PSVR1 over PSVR2.
They should at least have some big games to persuade potential buyers and they simply don't. Quest 3 just seems more attractive right now, but I'm a Playstation player all the way, so it's just disappointing.

The reports of this being Sony's last inventory and they want to get rid of it with only 2 games in development for the thing is more than enough reason not to purchase it. You're being ridiculous sorry

Re: Random: PS3 Is Now the Only Console from Its Era with a Functional Store

Specky

@LowDefAl
Look, there was so much crap from devs back in the day surrounding PS3 development.
That's why most games used to look better on 360, the inferior hardware. When years went on and devs got finally used to, especially the Sony devs, they were able to pull out incredible power out of that thing.

Its architecture was way complicated, so much R&D went in there and I can bet it was a heck of a lot more than the more "simple" current gen, as their games struggle with physics apparently, because most games just do not have it.

Re: Random: PS3 Last Seventh Generation Console Standing with Functional Storefront

@nomither6
GOW3 was just so EPIC. Everything about it.
Devs needed some time to get the full power out of the PS3, but when they did, wow.
360 was the winner for a while for lots of people, but when the PS3 got going, it caught up really well and with some of the best and unique games.

I miss that era... Everything was more realistic, grounded, physics based and unique. Games tried so hard to stand out while now even more niche genres like SoulsBournes are oversaturated

Re: There's Potential in This Anime-Style PS5 Soulslike, But It Needs Work

Specky

None of these soulslikes do anything to stand out. They all look, play and feel the same. Same typical game-y open environments. Nothing resembling any real world architecture. It's as if you're going through a Mario game.

I'm playing PS3 games lately and the amount of detail in gameplay, environments, movement, animations, physics it's stunning.
They're all unique.

This is like "hEy LoOk we got Dark Souls, but in animeee! So like, totally awesome riiight!?"

Re: Capcom Says It Won't Give Up on Physical Games, Despite Utter Domination of Digital Sales

@CrashBandicoat
Ah yes, the classic BP oil argument where they absolutely destroy our world and wildlife to no extent and then spend millions to create a similar argument like:
"Your CARBON FOOTPRINT (BP made term) is the reason the world is dying. You should buy less physical games, so the world (and our pockets) can heal"

It's always the common folks fault, eh? Missing the point on how these corpos run the world is why we're in a dystopia right now. Not because of plastic straws

Re: Capcom Says It Won't Give Up on Physical Games, Despite Utter Domination of Digital Sales

@IamJT
I have never pirated a game in my life. I used to do so with movies when I was a broke teenager though.
It definitely is theft, I agree.

But if we can use their logic that buying something is NOT ownership, as per page 20 terms and services, then pirating wouldn't be stealing. Period. Buying a movie would be more of a rent then. They can take it away anytime they want.

The lack of service also is a thing. You can slap on whatever kinda subtitles, edit them, put the file wherever you want, etc. You're free to do whatever.
Merely changing subtitles sizes on my blurays though... God almighty that is too much to ask for.
Who wants a future where these corpos can decide whatever you're allowed to do? We're already living it and it's gonna get worse when physical releases go

Re: Capcom Says It Won't Give Up on Physical Games, Despite Utter Domination of Digital Sales

Specky

@Czar_Khastik
In that kind of future there's one rule that applies to it all:
If downloading it isn't ownership, then piracy isn't stealing.

With the way Sony's going they can shove the PS6 up their bums, but if they go all digital I'm done with them and I'll be done with buying anything in this clown world.

Ps. This already is the case with buying movies digitally through Sony's services. You'll find on page 20-something in their terms and conditions that you can lose the license to whatever you purchased. 🤡

Re: 'Unpolished' Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Gets Blasted, But Ubisoft Insists on August Release Date

Specky

@nomither6
Naming their game xDefiant was the nail in the coffin lol. Sounds like some prime 9gag kid got to name the game.

And yeah, SM2 and SM Ultimate were freaking amazing. Everything that came afterwards was a huge letdown in terms of quality and web swinging (which they had perfected on PS2). They kinda felt cheap and what Activision was doing at that time (after COD MW2) was very shady. They were saints in today's standards, but still lol

Re: 'Unpolished' Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Gets Blasted, But Ubisoft Insists on August Release Date

Specky

@JohntheRaptor
And you can't expect people not to criticise the next big release in the industry. Some people have standards.
If it were up to you lot, we'd still receive garbage Spider-Man games from Activision for a second decade and you'd STILL defend them. You've seen the potential when Sony took over, expect the same from other big releases.
These publishers being cheapskates doesn't favour the consumer in any shape or form

Re: 'Unpolished' Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Gets Blasted, But Ubisoft Insists on August Release Date

Specky

WHY CAN THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!?
It's always the same thing. Every single game of theirs. Unpolished, unfinished, clunky gameplay, sloppily written. Always. Eh whatever...
Consoomers love mediocrity. Nothing to do about it.

@Lup
> People voice solid criticism over a "AAA" game having sharp edges and probably all the other problems Ubisoft games always have.

> Haters! How dare they want something better for 70+ bucks!?

Re: Concord's Free Open Beta Is Performing Abysmally on PC

Specky

Good. Let this uninspired copycat of a game with atrocious characters flop out of existence.

I will never forgive Sony for cancelling Factions 2 and financing absolute atrocities like this. I have been here since PS1, gotten all the consoles and handhelds. I will think twice before purchasing a PS6 as I am not a fan of Sony anymore and I think many others are done with them as well.

This game perfectly encapsulates everything wrong with our industry since PS4.

@Steel76
Fallout 4 got remastered (barely) and the show helped.
For RDR2 and GTA V it's purely a matter of releasing the absolute best quality a game can be and that just holds up. The insane part is no other studio's copying that business model...

Also, goes to show you how little the gaming industry progressed (or they refuse to progress) since the PS3 when GTA IV and V are still technically superior to most games coming out bar graphics. Very sad tbh

Do yourself a favour and stop reading out of context outrage twitter whiners and go watch some DonutOperator then.
The vast majority of these claims you describe will vanish into thin air when seeing the full videos from all angles.

I was just like you, always hating on US police, but after seeing the real stuff they deal with, massive respect to them. BUT! Lots of power hungry bad apples there as well, undeniably

It's like the kid crying wolf.
At some point nobody's gonna take them seriously. I admit I didn't pay attention to what the controversy actually was when writing the comment, because it's always the same.
Bunch of loner basement dwellers crying up a storm on social media. That's still the case here though.

At the end of the day, it's THEIR game. They have the right to do whatever they want with it and the crybabies have the right to stop playing the damn game.

I always complain about Ubisoft and I always back it up with not paying them anything. I voice my criticism, because I expect better from them and move on with my life. I don't have ANY authority over Ubisoft. They can do what they want.

@CielloArc
There actually is a case for AC Shadows. I made the mistake of going on Reddit, but actually saw the good side of the outrage.
Asians felt offended, because they're never good enough. They're always either whitewashed or this...
There are so many Japanese samurai, so many stories in their history, but Ubisoft ON PURPOSE went for the controversial choice

Re: Genshin Impact Fan Frustration Boils Over As Backlash Goes Viral

Specky

As a minority, it pisses me off to no extent that these people always NEED representation... Wtf is so empty in their lives that they need others to bend over backwards to please them? Why always the victim route? Nobody ever takes any responsibility or acts reasonable. It's always these screeching whiners.

It's so pathetic. I hate it. I never want to be victimized or shoved into people's throats under the excuse of "representation".

Can't stand this money grabbing company from the CCP, but if I'm siding with them then there's something seriously wrong with people.

hEy LoOk yOu cAn gO pAraChutiNg iN thiS sNowBoaRd gAme. Or skydiving or skiing or cycling or whatever. None of them have good gameplay.
All they care about is to show all this stuff in their marketing and to cast a big net to peak interest from as many people as possible, just to disappoint them.
This whole company has this philosophy and it's pure dogsh*t.

Sorry for the long comments
