@Maubari I got a switch solely for BotW and loved it, but even that got stale at times. Still need to play the second and other Nintendo games though. However, Sony does still make amazing games, but some games like Horizon really feel toothless.
They don't go the extra mile. It's hard to explain. It feels too clean. Never do I get the sense that this is a post apocalyptic world where people are desperately trying to survive.
Something that the Last of Us games have done so well. Tbh even Days Gone did it really well. But then again, that was such a great game for that studio and everything's set up for DG2, but Sony cancels it? Same with Factions 2, they wasted so much time and resources, so just finish it.
My excitement to gaming nowadays is completely gone. I used to get so hyped for these things. Nowadays PS2 games feel more grounded than the terribly written, soulless floaty Ubisoft style games that all play the same. It's hard to get excited anymore.
@Frmknst Yeah the colorful fantasy is really, really annoying. Fenyx Rising was generic as hell. I blame Marvel. They all have wannabe Marvel dumb humour all the time as well. They can't help it. The world is ending and they just have to saying something dumb and painfully unfunny while pointing at the camera with a smile.
I mentioned Shadow to say that nothing has even come close to topping a PS2 game. The "real" you mention is something that's completely lacking in games nowadays. Everything has to feel like Ubisoft fluff. Floaty, wooden, arcady. They all feel the same.
The last big game that did it right were TLOU2 and RDR2 of which people complain that it feels slow... Goddamn Ubisoft syndrome
@Doctor_BK
Kiwami 2 looks stellar though, so that should keep you busy for a while.
I'm gonna take it slow and maybe play the non-Yakuza installments here and there untill they release
Damn. Forgot about LA Noire. One of my favourites. Seriously needs a sequel... Why do we always have to rely only on Rockstar for these types of games. Old Rockstar at that.
@JAMes-BroWWWn I heard it a couple of days ago for the first time. No april fools joke unfortunately
I like it. Shadow of the Colossus is still there at the top for me and hasn't even come close to being topped in terms of feel, physics, the sheer scope, immersion, etc.
It's crazy how a PS2 game has more fluid animations, horse riding, physics, etc. compared to anything that even comes to looking like it. Climbing monsters in DD2 looks like a PS2 game ironically (although I'm loving DD2)
@Brydontk It's a discussion maybe? Or I got replied to? Saying you don't like the game because some outrage shmuck on YouTube didn't like the game for attention isn't really an opinion.
@NEStalgia That is such a mental gymnastic comparison lol. Comparing DD2 to Genshin and those games is insane. Spiderman swings MTX? Christ almighty dude, if you wanna complain about MTX, do it with the countless of Ubisoft or other predetory companies.
Here's the deal: the game is done and dusted and balanced for the optimal playthrough. In comes in the Capcom CEO demanding in game items to be sold separately/ extra. The devs do as they say and change nothing in game.
ALL the reviews you've seen are from the same exact game. Did the reviewers have any need for the fast travel items, which are abundant inside the game? No. Take you complaining elsewhere. It's not relevant here. Quality games are rare these days and the vulture mentality of gamers nowadays is to pick on the best piece of meat.
Go complain about the gazillionth copy/ paste Ubisoft game. I know none of you do. Terribly written, terrible gameplay, game design, drawn out, garbage. Why is everyone buying those games without thinking twice?
@Flaming_Kaiser Sounds like you know nothing about the game then... Outrage YouTubers are not a good source. I've been having a lot fun and so are my friends. The reviews seem true. Put around 25 hours in it and it's an absolute blast!
I'm the type to boycott mtx driven, soulless, inspirtationless factory publishers like Ubisoft with all their shady practices on games that are quickly hashed out. Capcom on the other hand has delivered quality. In my 25 hours I've only had to use one fast travel item out of the dozen (or more) I have by now. They're not even necessary
Wait I'm playing through Yakuza sort of. I've finished Zero and Kiwami 1. Wanted to start Kiwami 2 soon. Does this mean I should take it slowly, because this sounds they're going to Kiwami all of them...
@Korgon
Buddy, Origins and Odyssee were such utterly disrespectful games to a player's time, I quit Odyssey. Origins I finished quickly while smashing enemies while on my horse riding circles as if it's Mario Kart. They're garbage games with garbage and drawn out lengths and garbage gameplay that doesn't even support the length of time you spend on them.
It's so clunky, boring and broken. Stupid NPC's that repeat the same lines as if it's an indie game, stupid accents, stupid scripts. No world building, no immersion, nothing.
They expect you to spend 100 hours in this mess? Yeah, not for me. Skipped Valhalla for that reason.
Same as Division 2. Which was more drawn out, more broken than the first one. Quit that game and threw the disc away. Don't want to torture anyone else with the crap.
Look at what a 40 dollar game like Helldivers 2 does. Now THAT'S how you do a third person shooter game that can actually support the hours you put into it.
I will NEVER understand gamers who damage control lazy, greedy publishers whose games deteriorate game after game.
Ubisoft builds their crappy games around MTX and nobody bats an eye. They're drawn out, empty worlds with repetitive excuse for some game design on top of garbage gameplay to waste as much of your time as possible and steer you to quick MTX solutions.
Meanwhile DD2 is a good game in contrast, but it has MTX so everyone loses their shiiit.
But yeah, no place in single player games. Very telling that CDPR has made better games than all of the above. Even 2077 is better on launch than anything Ubisoft has released in the past decade
So the message I'm getting is the PS5 they sold me on is a useless piece of crap now?
Now I need to get the next big thing again? Just like how they "supported" my Vita and PSVR?
I'm getting tired of Sony man.
Here we have a game like Dragons Dogma 2 with tiny amounts of physics vs PS3 games and it's already struggling a lot. Go the hell Sony.
@LifeGirl
They all focus on mUh fRamERatE.
None of these games have a decent core anymore. It's all so shallow. Games don't even look that good, they have absolutely no physics compared to games TWO generations ago, they all feel and play the same clunky way like Ubisoft games and they're terribly written.
Wtfs going on
@dark_knightmare2 Nah, that place is a toxic cesspool, circlejerk of mental gymnastics. It's miserable. Deleting reddit has been a day and night difference in my mental health lmao
Sounds like it's an Ubisoft type game. Damn shame as it had potential and I love the setting. Though everyone else does Ubisoft better than Ubisoft themselves. I'll get it cheap
@Matroska
LMAO GTA IV existed on PS3. One of the most impressive games in terms of physics.
We've been seeing absolutely no physics on PS4/5 games (Spider-Man 2 PS2 has better physics than its PS5 counterpart. Period.) and meanwhile this pathetic game with tiny physics is a struggle on PS5.
Guess that's why we're seeing no physics anymore.
Ps. I'm enjoying DD2, but I've been losing hope in the industry for a while now. It's pathetic
@Rangers420 I don't think so. Ubisoft releases clunky games with garbage NPC's, garbage copy/ paste world building, dumb dialogue, no immersion and clunkt gameplay all the time. EA gets away with Dargon age, so no.
Ubisoft could wish they'd release a game this detailed. It's still has sharp edges and Witcher 3 is more impressive and all I want to play now is Kingdom Come, but hell no. The game wouldn't be THIS finished if it was made by Ubisoft
@GoingTheDist Definitely they're a bit disappointing. Their online stuff especially. But my point is more that other devs/ publishers need to implement Rockstar philosophy
I am not feeling I'm getting the best out of my PS5 yet.
Most games have no physics or worse physics than PS3 games. Pretty much all of them actually.
Lack remotely smart NPC's, lack immersion, lack interaction with the world (desert games don't have sand physics. They don't react to your footsteps, etc.), I can go on.
At this point, I'd be amazed if an openworld game has the physics and world interaction of something like GTA IV.
So no, the Pro ain't fixing goddamn shiiit. I'm not making the mistake of upgrading again. Sony needs to offer games that actually meets the hardware first.
Always hyped for Level 5, they're amazing, but Nino Kuni 2 was absolutely atrocious. What a letdown that was... Cool that they're back, but I'm cautious
@Cherip-the-Ripper It's cheap and nowhere near the potential DBZ can meet. Flying around feels like PS2 controls/ limited direction in comparison to flying in Arkham games. I'm so tired of these "good enough" gimmicky/ arcady/ supernatural Ubisoft type checklist games where the worlds just aren't dynamic or immersive. They're just full of artificial stuff made for the player. Tsushima suffered a lot from this as well.
Praying for the day Rockstar makes an openworld samurai game with the quality of RDR2. Slower, grounded, immersive, dynamic world/ NPC's, no climbing towers BS or whatever. Just an actual world, not a game world.
Other devs just cannot do it. The sadder I get about all this.
We have yet to have an amazing DBZ adventure game, an amazing Spider-Man game (that isn't written with garbage characters and actually is funny and actually HAS physics and gravity), an amazing Avatar (both IP's) game, an amazing Superman game. It's all just mediocre bleh
Finally I can vote something useful on these lol.
Been a while since I've played something on release. Been a while for a game this good to come out for that matter.
Once in a blue moon type of game.
Many big publishers just can not release games that come even close to this. It's a goddamn shame how many games we get that just do not meet their potential.
Kakarot, literally every Assassin's Creed game almost, Bathesda's pathetic games, Sony's games are also lacking as of late.
The worst is that people just keep buying them and worse, defending mediocre games. We'll never get a good DBZ adventure game and if you criticise it, the weebs come out in droves to protect them.
