Quest is basically the first stand alone wireless room scale VR console. It's quite amazing for what it is. Be anywhere in the real world & within one minute have room scale VR going on.
I brought it up because wireless room scale VR is the future of VR gaming & I'm sure it'll come to PSVR during PS5 life cycle.
What it comes down to for me really though is this... what is called 'friction' in VR terms. I want to play VR right this minute, I put on Quest & I'm in game within a minute or two. Pretty much zero friction. I want to play VR on PSVR right this minute... well.. you see where I'm going. Much friction. And regardless of a wireless PSVR, that friction will still be there because it would still be tethered to the console albeit wirelessly.
It probably seems like I'm down on PSVR but of course I love it still. What's here for it & what's coming is fantastic. Iron Man VR very soon! Blood & Truth days away.
But bottom line is wireless is indeed the future & Quest is the first stand alone headset to take advantage. And it's doing an excellent job of it.
Such a good job that I bet we will see games being developed for Quest first & then said games being ported up for high end headsets.
Oculus Quest proves that room scale wireless VR is a MAJOR game changer.
Beat Saber, Space Pirate Trainer, Super Hot & Robo Recall: Unplugged are four perfect examples of games that take excellent advantage of room scale wireless.
Literally rolling on the floor to dodge lasers in Space Pirate has to be experienced to grasp what I speak of.
I like Sony's plans here. No PSVR 2. Just future iterations of the same headset. A wireless version will sell like hot cakes.
This game is fantastic. Until it's not. You pretty much need at least one friend who will definitely communicate.
I've given up on this game for one reason only. The same reason I gave up on Rainbow Six Siege. Joining a squad with no online friends more often than not leads to a squad where no one is communicating. In my experience anyway.
Just played it. I'm biased already because I've been playing Hot Shots Golf since the very first game. It's always been my favorite golf game.
That said, this game will be AMAZING for golf fans in general. The demo has tutorial & driving range & putting green with ever changing putts. And Approach practice. Hoping to chip one in soon.
Yes you can click on 'Go to round' as if you're gonna play a course but you can only look around when you get to hole one. Nice tease they did there.
When I say amazing I mean both graphically & gameplay. You are in the Hot Shots world you're familiar with. It's BEAUTIFUL on PS4 Pro. Seriously.
I didn't try out driving range too much as the tutorial covers those swings but man... the putting green is where this demo shines.
I've done only two. The 13 footer first. Took about twenty tries to sink it. Just getting used to the sensitivity & whatnot.
The second one though.. the 36 footer. I can't convey enough how satisfying it was to sink it after only three tries. Just WOW.
Not many VR games have given me that complete sense of accomplishment as if it happened in real life. Again, AMAZING.
Those ever changing putts will definitely tide me over until full release.
If golf games sold systems this would be the killer app.
And yeah.. I'm fully aware the game is called Everybody's Golf. It'll always be Hot Shots to me.

Re: Verlet Swing Is Perfect for PSVR, But It's Only Coming to PS4
Like I always say..
Put it in VR & I'm down.
Oh wait.....
Re: Death Stranding Collector's Edition Comes with a Baby
It's $200 & then 18 years of support.
That's where they get you.
Damn babies.
Re: Rumour: Death Stranding's Release Date May Have Leaked
Logan Moore over at dualshockers site believes a Death Stranding demo will be on Playstation Store TODAY.
Here's his rationalization...
Here’s Why I’ve Convinced Myself a PS4 Demo for Death Stranding is Being Released Tomorrow
http://flip.it/ew6mTt
Re: Rumour: Death Stranding's Release Date May Have Leaked
November 8 is a Friday. Fridays are usually the day a Call of Duty or Battlefield would release.
Practically every other game releases on a Tuesday.
Here in America, anyway.
The distinction is obvious, of course. Very big AAA games release on Fridays.
This could very well be true.
Re: PSVR's Inevitable PS5 Successor Could Be a Dramatic Improvement
@bman2112
If you already have them for PSVR it sucks to pay for them again but Beat Saber, Space Pirate Trainer & Super Hot are pretty much made for wireless.
Any wireless iteration of PSVR is a day one purchase for me.
Re: The PS Vita Is Dead, Long Live Playdate
This will most definitely not end up anywhere near a Walmart or flea market.
This is a niche system by design. A very limited stock will be available.
I understand exactly what they're doing here & I'm totally down for it. I signed up & very much hope I'm able to get one.
I will happily pay $150 for the twelve week secret gaming mystery tour they want to take me on.
Can't wait to see what those developers do with this most unique gaming system.

Re: Feelreal VR Mask Hopes to Enhance Virtual Reality with Smells, Air, and Moisture
This has got to be the most ridiculous console gaming accessory I've ever witnessed.

Re: It's Time to Get Meta with Virtual Virtual Reality on PSVR
This is more of an interactive VR narrative experience than a game.
It's excellent on Oculus Go & I'm sure it's the same on PSVR.
Re: Is Splitgate: Arena Warfare Coming to PS4?
@Quintumply
Ah. Thanks.
Re: Is Splitgate: Arena Warfare Coming to PS4?
As usual, put it in VR & I'm down.
On another note.. a couple of days ago I noticed the '41' next to Push □ up there & now it's 42. What's that all about?
Re: Everybody’s Golf VR Tees Up a Difficult Platinum Trophy
I can't speak for Sammy but I'm getting that damn Platinum!
Re: Hands On: Blood & Truth Elevates PSVR to the Next Level
Okay now I'm psyched.
Re: PSVR Action Game Blood & Truth Looks Like Explosive Fun in New Launch Trailer
I patiently await with trepidation.
That movement scheme reminds me so much of Bravo Team, it hurts.
Reviews will sell or not sell the game to me.
Re: What if Ghost of Tsushima Was Made in Dreams?
I hear someone is making Death Stranding in Dreams.
It'll be finished before the actual game.
Re: Feature: We're Making a Game with Dreams on PS4 - Issue 3
The jar is a lie?
Re: US PSN Flash Sale Discounts Devil May Cry 5, MLB The Show 19, and EA Games

Just click on description of game & sale price will show. If you're using PS4 to access store.
Re: Everybody's Golf VR Demo Tees Off Today on PS Store
@SoulChimera
The demo has much more to offer than I realized.
You can place the ball anywhere when putting. The approach practice is fantastic.
Re: Everybody's Golf VR Demo Tees Off Today on PS Store
My first of many (to come) Everybody's Golf VR videos.
Fifty one footer at the end!

Ghost Giant has got to be one of the easiest Platinums out there. You're good to go.
Re: Everybody's Golf VR Demo Tees Off Today on PS Store
Available now on North American store.
Re: Everybody's Golf VR Demo Tees Off Today on PS Store
Excellent news.
Re: Rumour: Upcoming State of Play Livestream to Feature a 'Third Party Re-Reveal'
It's MediEvil.
October 18, 2019? $39.99?
Re: Soapbox: Why Syphon Filter Must Make a Return
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror on PSP is one of my all time favorite games so of course I'm down.
Re: Official PS Plus May 2019 Videos Battered by Dislikes and Comments Section Outrage
All those with their feelings of entitlement will change their tune when God of War or Spiderman is eventually included.
Re: Dreams Creators Are Already Making Short Comedy Sketches
The opportunities are practically endless!
Again, Dreams is the ultimate exclusive title.
Re: Feature: We're Making a Game with Dreams on PS4 - Issue 1
So the game will be harder than real life, right?
I've had snacks on a train. It's not hard. /
Re: VR Is Getting Its Very Own Press Conference at E3 2019
This excellent for VR industry as a whole.
Re: Hands On: Dreams Is an Inspiring, Mesmerising Wonder
The ultimate exclusive.
Re: PS Move Poised to Persist into PS5 Generation
There is no shortage of brand new Move controllers here in America.
$99 a pair. Best Buy, Target & Walmart ALWAYS have them available.
When I say brand new, I do indeed mean the latest incarnation. USB charging.
Why do I continuously see articles stating the opposite?!?
Re: Sounds Like Death Stranding Could Release on Both PS4 and PS5
Death Stranding in 8K.
You know, for the extremely rich.
Re: Sony Not Yet Ready to Talk About PS5 Price, Games, or Services
It'll most likely be $500 here in the U.S.
Right now, I'm most giddy to hear VR processing in the console & compatibility with headsets available now & future headsets.
This is huge news for me. We know it was most likely in the works but Sony just confirmed PSVR 2 without even saying PSVR 2.
Re: PS5 Will Use a Specialised Solid-State Drive to Dramatically Reduce Load Times and Improve Performance in Games
It'll still be cheaper than PS3 was at launch.
So there's that.
Re: Media Molecule Confirms What Time You Can Get Your Hands on Dreams Early Access on PS4
@Octane Nah I'm talking about what @knight_spg posted above.
Re: Media Molecule Confirms What Time You Can Get Your Hands on Dreams Early Access on PS4
Was it not implied that invites would be sent out?
I don't care either way. It's coming soon & whether I get in or not is no matter as I want the VR.
I still predict Summer 2019 full release.
Re: Star Wars Actress: You're Gonna Die When You See Horizon: Zero Dawn's Sequel
Horizon Zero Dawn 2 VR is gonna be awesome.
Oh and 'beavering away.'
Hell yeah.
Re: Ghost Giant - A PSVR Masterpiece
Once again, PSVR is KILLING it.
Have been waiting for this one since reveal.
Your review pretty much tells me my high expectations have been met. And then some.
Re: Feature: 5 Overlooked PSVR Titles You Really Should Play
I'll definitely pick up The Lost Bear at some point.
Statik would eventually become an exercise in frustration for me like all puzzle games do.
I have Arca's Path for Oculus Go. Half the price, exactly the same excellent game.
Never finished How We Soar but that game is one of the first truly great PSVR experiences.
Werewolves Within never got my interest as those type of games never have.
@rjejr I believe it's practically guaranteed PSVR games will come to Playstation Plus. Sooner than later. Bet.
Re: No Straight Roads Looks to Conquer EDM on PS4 Later This Year

About Paper Beast, from another gaming site...
"Éric Chahi, the French designer most famous for his work on Another World and 2011's From Dust. He’s back in 2019, though, with a monster game for the PlayStation 4 called Paper Beast."
Back on topic...
No Straight Roads indeed looks promising.
Re: No Straight Roads Looks to Conquer EDM on PS4 Later This Year
@get2sammyb
Off topic but I gotta ask..
Do you know what Paper Beast is? I became aware of this PSVR/PS4 game moments ago.
https://youtu.be/s0-yAROPC2Y
I haven't been this intrigued about a PSVR game in quite a while.
What can you tell me about this game, Sammy?
Re: No Straight Roads Looks to Conquer EDM on PS4 Later This Year
@get2sammyb
I'm too old for EDM.
I was into Kraftwerk for a minute in my teens. That doesn't really count though, does it?
Re: No Straight Roads Looks to Conquer EDM on PS4 Later This Year
Rock better win.
Re: Dangerous Driving - As Close as You'll Get to Classic Burnout on PS4
No multiplayer?!?
Honestly, the gameplay video I've seen tells me something is seriously off with the physics.
This is a no buy for me until multiplayer & fixed physics.
Re: Soapbox: Sony's Done an Outstanding Job with PSVR
@Gumbopudding
By all means, if you're old as you say, get the ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission bundle.
Start with that game & you'll be instantly amazed.
Re: Indie Anti-Gravity Racer Formula Fusion Changes Name to Pacer, Comes to PS4 in 2019

Re: Everybody's Golf VR's Caddies Will Feed You Chocolates

Re: Borderlands 3 Release Date All But Confirmed Thanks to Early YouTube Ad
That's a far cry from previous box art.
