Re: Rumour: Death Stranding's Release Date May Have Leaked

SirRealDeal

November 8 is a Friday. Fridays are usually the day a Call of Duty or Battlefield would release.

Practically every other game releases on a Tuesday.

Here in America, anyway.

The distinction is obvious, of course. Very big AAA games release on Fridays.

This could very well be true.

Re: The PS Vita Is Dead, Long Live Playdate

This will most definitely not end up anywhere near a Walmart or flea market.

This is a niche system by design. A very limited stock will be available.

I understand exactly what they're doing here & I'm totally down for it. I signed up & very much hope I'm able to get one.

I will happily pay $150 for the twelve week secret gaming mystery tour they want to take me on.

Can't wait to see what those developers do with this most unique gaming system.

Oh no doubt about that.

Quest is basically the first stand alone wireless room scale VR console. It's quite amazing for what it is. Be anywhere in the real world & within one minute have room scale VR going on.

I brought it up because wireless room scale VR is the future of VR gaming & I'm sure it'll come to PSVR during PS5 life cycle.

What it comes down to for me really though is this... what is called 'friction' in VR terms. I want to play VR right this minute, I put on Quest & I'm in game within a minute or two. Pretty much zero friction. I want to play VR on PSVR right this minute... well.. you see where I'm going. Much friction. And regardless of a wireless PSVR, that friction will still be there because it would still be tethered to the console albeit wirelessly.

It probably seems like I'm down on PSVR but of course I love it still. What's here for it & what's coming is fantastic. Iron Man VR very soon! Blood & Truth days away.

But bottom line is wireless is indeed the future & Quest is the first stand alone headset to take advantage. And it's doing an excellent job of it.

Such a good job that I bet we will see games being developed for Quest first & then said games being ported up for high end headsets.

Oculus Quest proves that room scale wireless VR is a MAJOR game changer.

Beat Saber, Space Pirate Trainer, Super Hot & Robo Recall: Unplugged are four perfect examples of games that take excellent advantage of room scale wireless.

Literally rolling on the floor to dodge lasers in Space Pirate has to be experienced to grasp what I speak of.

I like Sony's plans here. No PSVR 2. Just future iterations of the same headset. A wireless version will sell like hot cakes.

Bet.

Re: Everybody's Golf VR Demo Tees Off Today on PS Store

SirRealDeal

Just played it. I'm biased already because I've been playing Hot Shots Golf since the very first game. It's always been my favorite golf game.

That said, this game will be AMAZING for golf fans in general. The demo has tutorial & driving range & putting green with ever changing putts. And Approach practice. Hoping to chip one in soon.

Yes you can click on 'Go to round' as if you're gonna play a course but you can only look around when you get to hole one. Nice tease they did there.

When I say amazing I mean both graphically & gameplay. You are in the Hot Shots world you're familiar with. It's BEAUTIFUL on PS4 Pro. Seriously.

I didn't try out driving range too much as the tutorial covers those swings but man... the putting green is where this demo shines.

I've done only two. The 13 footer first. Took about twenty tries to sink it. Just getting used to the sensitivity & whatnot.

The second one though.. the 36 footer. I can't convey enough how satisfying it was to sink it after only three tries. Just WOW.

Not many VR games have given me that complete sense of accomplishment as if it happened in real life. Again, AMAZING.

Those ever changing putts will definitely tide me over until full release.

If golf games sold systems this would be the killer app.

And yeah.. I'm fully aware the game is called Everybody's Golf. It'll always be Hot Shots to me.

Re: PS Move Poised to Persist into PS5 Generation

SirRealDeal

There is no shortage of brand new Move controllers here in America.

$99 a pair. Best Buy, Target & Walmart ALWAYS have them available.

When I say brand new, I do indeed mean the latest incarnation. USB charging.

Why do I continuously see articles stating the opposite?!?

Re: Feature: 5 Overlooked PSVR Titles You Really Should Play

SirRealDeal

I'll definitely pick up The Lost Bear at some point.

Statik would eventually become an exercise in frustration for me like all puzzle games do.

I have Arca's Path for Oculus Go. Half the price, exactly the same excellent game.

Never finished How We Soar but that game is one of the first truly great PSVR experiences.

Werewolves Within never got my interest as those type of games never have.

@rjejr I believe it's practically guaranteed PSVR games will come to Playstation Plus. Sooner than later. Bet.

About Paper Beast, from another gaming site...

"Éric Chahi, the French designer most famous for his work on Another World and 2011's From Dust. He’s back in 2019, though, with a monster game for the PlayStation 4 called Paper Beast."

Back on topic...

No Straight Roads indeed looks promising.
