Re: Sony's Digital Refund Policy Takes a Welcome Step Forward

SirRealDeal

@Nyne11Tyme Gamestop did me a solid one time.

One time.

GTA V. I had it for almost a month. Purchased day one. I manage a restaurant & don't have the time others have. Game was broken at launch. Guy was very nice about it & gave me full refund.

So there's one good Gamestop story out there.

One.

Re: PSVR's Install Base Soars Past 4.2 Million Units Worldwide

SirRealDeal

I know I'm in the PSVR ownership minority when I say I use my PSVR every day.

Sparc on a daily basis. Lately a lot of The Mage's Tale. Dirt Rally VR at least twice a week. Wipeout VR.

As others have mentioned, this is first generation. The fact that PSVR outsells all competitors is huge regardless of the numbers of units being sold.

VR is here to stay. Anyone thinking different is fooling themselves. It's only going to get better. Oculus Quest is going to blow everyone's mind despite being closer to mobile VR. Quest will have WORLD SCALE. Whatever space you have available can be used (sometime after launch, I believe). Find videos of demos & you'll understand completely.

One thing irks me to no end regarding marketing of VR headsets... all marketing pretty much ignores the fact that every single VR headset is a personal movie theater. 3D films in PSVR are FANTASTIC. All films in PSVR look great. Regular DVDs too (mostly).

And of course you can play every PS4 game you own on a 13 foot or 15 foot or 18 foot virtual screen. Excellent.

I've rambled enough. I've made my PSVR fanboy point, I think.😎

Re: Sony Renews Patent That Hints at Digital Game Trading for PlayStation Users

SirRealDeal

I'll be the bearer of bad news...

Correction: It appears that the source only selectively applied that text of the patent, completely ignoring the title of the patent, which is “Tangible tradable collectibles having a digital copy,” as well as the first line of the patent, which is omitted, stating “Tradable physical collectible objects are described. In particular, systems and methods for using the tradable physical collectible objects facilitate generation of a digital copy that can be used within a network game.” The described patent is about Amiibo-like figures, not about digital game trades and gifting.

Re: State of Play: Blood & Truth Brings Cockney Slang to PSVR on 28th May

SirRealDeal

I was once patiently awaiting this game's arrival but...

After the debacle that was (& still is as far as I know) Bravo Team, I'm very sceptical about this one.

Why? There are similar gameplay mechanics involved (at times).

The difference in said mechanics is that as you automatically move in Blood & Truth, you can look around & shoot.

Hopefully my concerns are invalid but I'll be waiting for reviews before purchase on this one.

Re: Soapbox: Why Early Access Is Ideal for Dreams

SirRealDeal

@carlos82 Dreams doesn't rely on community content completely. It's three single player campaigns without community content.

I'd say the game will sell well on that alone simply because people who loved LittleBigPlanet will surely buy in.

I'd also say Dreams is going to be one of PS4's biggest sellers when all is said & done. Because of community content.

I dream big though.

Re: Soapbox: Why Early Access Is Ideal for Dreams

SirRealDeal

I think it's brilliant marketing.

If I get in I plan on getting serious about one creation at least.

As far as VR being included day one, do you know if scenes created now will be compatible with VR @get2sammyb ?

Or does VR stuff need to be created in VR?

Re: Media Molecule Made Pool in Dreams and It's Madness

SirRealDeal

@KorsaRaph I really look forward to the VR creations. First person stuff, preferably.

I suspect there'll be plenty of VR platformers but I'm hoping for plenty of first person VR.

Obviously, I'm banking on other people's creations. Because I honestly won't have the patience to create. I've tried.
