Re: Amidst Sony's Disc Debacle, Capcom Sales Data Is a Brutal Reality Check for Fans of Physical Media

SeverTheWicked

Almost like PC doesn't do physical...weird. Also, Resident Evil Requiem was sold out physically for ages, I had to wait like a month and a half for my pre-ordered copy to arrive. I guess that's because they had to print it especially for me, apparently one of five people that wanted a disc.

Fun story, actually: because of the big delay of getting the physical game, my partner suggested I just cancel it and buy it digitally so that we wouldn't risk spoilers. If not enough physical discs get made and people can't find them, they're more likely to just get it digitally. I STILL haven't played Lies of P because I've never been able to find a disc.

Re: Sorry, Dragon Age Fans, Don't Expect Another One Anytime Soon

SeverTheWicked

I'm not surprised. I love Dragon Age, and I actually did like Veilguard, but it had some pretty huge issues that non-diehard fans wouldn't be able to overlook. It's definitely the worst in the series without having to even think about it, and that's not good for the newest entry that took a billion years to come out.

Re: Dragon Age Can't Get the Mass Effect Remaster Treatment Because of Dev Difficulties

SeverTheWicked

I did a big replay of the series earlier this year (DAO and Awakening on PS3 and then I broke the damn console trying to check if I had DLC for 2, so 2 was on PC lol), they hold up so so well. I love the first 3 DA games and even thoroughly enjoyed Veilguard, despite its many and varied problems. I may even have a DA tattoo.

Long story short, I'm a total nerd for Dragon Age and would kill for remasters, but 1 and 2 do look pretty good on PC in my opinion, so...

Re: Sony Also Taking Pelters for Locking Crunchyroll's Store Behind a Subscription

SeverTheWicked

I've been with Crunchyroll since it was basically a pirate site, I'm kinda used to insane and sudden changes. Locking the store behind higher tiers of subs is very strange to me, though. Like, the regular tier not being good enough to buy things is just...why? If this was a separate store of con merch and limited stuff or whatever I would understand, it would deter scalpers, but if it's just the regular store...what's the point? You're gonna lock a $10 manga behind a $15 sub?

I don't use the store, shipping is way too expensive, so I'm not really affected, but it seems just plain bizarre to lock the store behind a higher tier. I imagine premium shows will be coming next, where new episodes or popular older series will also be locked behind more expensive tiers.

Re: 'PS5 Has Put a Dampener on Gaming': 45% of Enthusiasts 'Seriously Considering' Leaving Sony for PC

SeverTheWicked

So many people in the comments are like "lol pc is digital too". Yeah, and it has other storefronts, and is cheaper, and I can outright own some games with GoG. If I am being forced into digital if I continue to play games, no matter the platform, then I will take the ecosystem that is significantly better than the others, even if I prefer physical, because physical is no longer an option.

Re: Game of the Month: The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (June 2026)

SeverTheWicked

Loved Elliott enough to get the platinum. I HATED the constant chatter though; there's a setting to allegedly make her talk less but there was no difference. If anything it was better on the normal setting because at least she said different things, not "did you know saving is good?" or "wow this platform we've encountered 9759875829 times moves on its own!" constantly 15 hours in.

Re: 'They Wait for This Storm to Pass': No Chance of Sony Walking Back Its Decision to Kill Discs, Warns Analyst

SeverTheWicked

I make 100 blue blankets and 1 pink one, freak out over only selling a single pink blanket, decide the world hates pink and ban the colour. Not all games (is it even most anymore?) get a physical release and I very much doubt that statistic takes that into consideration. It's kinda like gushing over how all of GTA 6's sales are digital when disc was never even an option.

Anyway, wasn't there info about the disc factories re-assigning/laying off/whatever already? I don't think they'll change their mind.

Re: Poll: Are You Considering Leaving PlayStation for PC?

SeverTheWicked

I play on console because I like physical games. If I'm going to be forced into a single digital storefront where everything is dynamic pricing, then I may as well just move over to PC where I have options. I'd be much happier if companies would just give me the damn game on a disc and I would prefer to stay with Sony, but no physical means there's no point in consoles, for me.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Burned Through the Last Remaining Goodwill of Its Fans

SeverTheWicked

I'm probably 99% physical. In everything. My books are physical, my movies are physical, I collect vinyl. Spotify is my sin for discovering new music. I've gotten the occasional digital game, if it's only available digitally, and never for full price. Even then, I've maybe bought two games for more than $10, as it's just a license.

If the PS6 is going to be digital only, I'll just stop giving Sony money. I've been an insane PS fangirl my entire life (I read the news about the physical halt while wearing PS branded socks for God's sake), but if I'm going to be forced into garbage digital gaming, I'll just go on PC. Different storefronts, better prices, more variety, mildly less offensive screwing.

I want to say mean things about the executives but I'll refrain. I just wish they had allowed us the choice, but I suppose there's marginally less money in that.

Re: Even with PS5 Ports, Many of Xbox's Games Have Been Underperfoming

SeverTheWicked

Maybe I just don't understand, but I was always super confused with GamePass. Like...why would that not affect sales? If I can play the game immediately with a subscription, why would I buy it day 1 as well? I also don't think late ports help much, generally speaking. I feel like it's wisest to release it fully day 1 with the full marketing force behind it.

Re: 'One of the Best Showcases I've Seen': 70% of PS5 Fans Loved State of Play

SeverTheWicked

It was okay, imo. I don't like Marvel and I have no interest in God of War, but the games still looked good, just not something I would play. I enjoyed the three seconds of Silent Hill and Control though. Lots of variety, even if most of it wasn't for me. As a few people have mentioned, it feels more "release dates for games we know about" as opposed to new stuff.

Re: USA Bank Wants You to Pay $80 for GTA 6 So Other Devs Can Charge More Too

SeverTheWicked

Not a great take. I'm Canadian, so AAA games are already over $100 for me. I think I've only ever purchased one game on release at that price (RE Requiem at $101.49, standard edition). I used to get a new release every month, now it's every two years or so. I'm a massive Final Fantasy fan and I just bought part 2 of the remake a few days ago when it went to $25. That being said, I've grabbed some games day 1 that have a lower price point, like Fatal Frame II (65 before taxes).

Games are super expensive to make, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to drop nearly $120 for a Digimon game. Isn't it more efficient to have a price regular people can afford and sell more copies? I know I just wait for price drops/sales now, and I'm sure plenty of people do too.
