The Sinking City 2 PS5

The Sinking City 2 will cost £41.35 / $49.99 when it releases on PS5 in August, as an effort to undercut other premium survival horror games on the market.

Frogwares announced the price point today as it set pre-orders live on the PS Store, and said the decision behind the price is all about giving back to its playerbase. "While most survival horror games today launch at $60 or more, we're launching at $49.99 because we want to be fair and give as many people as possible the chance to step into Arkham with us," said publishing director Sergiy Oganesyan.

The game launches for PS5 on 18th August 2026, or you can upgrade to the $60 Premium Edition and start playing 24 hours early. Also included in that version is a bonus case in The Holloway Manor, amongst other bonuses also found in the Deluxe Edition.

Take a look at those additional packs and items in the new trailer below:

The studio is correct in its assessment that most survival horror games launch for $60 or more, with the Resident Evil and Silent Hill titles being good examples. I'd argue they more than justify those price points, though, with exceptionally strong single player campaigns.

The Sinking City 2 isn't on their level, so the lower price point may attract far more attention it might not have gotten at a $70 price point.

"The Sinking City 2 is the most ambitious game we've ever made, built under circumstances most studios never have to plan for by a team working remotely across Ukraine and beyond. Even now, with around two months till launch to go, we made the call to move the entire project over to Unreal Engine 5.8 because we believed the performance gains were worth the effort for our players."
