Anticipated RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker Goes Gold 7 Weeks Before PS5 Release 1

The release of The Blood of Dawnwalker on 3rd September signals the start of a hellish period for new games – heck, it’s out just 24 hours before Capcom’s new Onimusha effort.

But it looks like dev Rebel Wolves is at least prepared for the chaos that’s about to ensue: the anticipated RPG has gone gold today, approximately seven weeks prior to release.

For those not familiar with industry lingo, this milestone means the game is in a “complete” state, and is ready to be printed on discs. (A soon-to-be outdated concept if Sony gets its way.)

Of course in this era, going gold doesn’t necessarily mean the software is 100% finished, as most devs will work on day one patches right through until release day. This is one of the reasons publishers have argued in favour of digital games.

I doubt there’s any possibility of publisher Bandai Namco pulling the release date forward at this point, but it may not be a bad idea in the grand scheme of things.

Previews for this game have been exceptionally positive, so it looks like it’s going to set the tone for an action packed holiday filled with expectedly awesome releases.
