I do love this series, remember playing the first one when it launched. So will definitely play it. But I do wish they would move on to another conflict. It's usually comes down to stopping some nazi super weapon. Even if they don't want to leave WW2, a sniper elite game set in the Pacific theatre would be a nice change of scenery and challenges.
Though I'm a bit disappointed not to play any further adventures of Jin, I can't wait to play this new game. I trust SP to really push on from the first game and give us something extraordinary.
I loved this game at launch, a well realised world, great characters and the hordes were just brilliant. I've been tempted to do a new run through on my ps5 so this does interest me. But it depends on what's added/ improved. If this is true and it sells well, I can always hope we get a sequel.
Really looking forward to this, hope we get a price and pre order date. As for whether it's needed or will sell well. That's for the market to decide. Personally I think it will sell millions, 10-20 mill. Especially if the marketing rights with GTA6 are true. Console only for probably the first year and the ps5 pro will be the best place to play it.
Day one for me too, don't even care what it looks like. I have faith Sony will load the end of the ps5 like they did the ps4s life, and the pro seems like it could be a nice bump up in capability.
Everything I read and see about this game makes it a day one buy for me. Love the flat games. The atmosphere in vr is going to be great and I love the little touches like having to put on your gas mask.
Really looking forward to this update. Be interesting to see how the new physics and tyres affect online races. And the new track should look amazing in VR.
@Stickleman that's really strange, I've been doing the dailies constantly for months and never had a race that wasn't full? Did daily C this morning at spa and it was packed. Did 6 daily B's yesterday back to back and each race was full.
Can't wait to try the GT One in VR! The game is in really great shape, especially with this week's daily race C. 20 laps at spa with dynamic weather in VR is really intense.
Nice another update. If your into online races, they have made some changes to the BOP, could have a big impact on the racing and which cars are competitive.
For me personally, I've had a great year with it. Comfy, easy to use, plug and play, great haptics and triggers and brilliant visuals. As for the games, some brilliant, some very good and obviously a lot of crap. But you get that with all systems. GT7 is a masterpiece and the best VR game I've ever played(especially with a seat and wheel setup). Loved star wars. Both saints and sinners were great. Arizona sunshine 2 was fun but a bit of a disappointment. Resident evil village was brilliant, such a difference from playing flat. Looking forward to trying Resident evil 4. Switchback, after the fall and Sierra squad were all very good and worth picking up. My youngest son has also loved the system. Though I limit his time on it, he's platiumed 5 games on it and finds it much better than my old pc vr setup. My opinion, its been a great first year, and there are some really good games that I'm looking forward to, Metro, aces of thunder, wanderer and zombie army.
I've really enjoyed my first year of psvr2, played some great games. Though after 200+ hours in gt7, to me it's still the best VR game. Looking forward to wanderer, zombie army vr should be great fun, and I'm always up for more arizona sunshine.
Sounds like they improved upon the brilliant original, but still kept the best part of the first game, namely the chaotic and fun bug killing! Sign me up!
That's the best SOP I've seen in a long time. Much better than the last showcase. Really hyped for a lot of the games, but Stellar blade really surprised me. Much more depth to the game than I thought it would have. And Metro VR looked awesome, the Metro universe with their gun play, day one for me.
After I finish Arizona sunshine 2 this will be my next vr2 experience (if I can stop playing gt7). It's had great reviews across the board! With this and bulletstorm it's a decent month for the platform.
Some great games this year, I've had a blast, Star wars is just fun, resident evil village is transformed, Arizona sunshine 2 is my favourite new game. But for shear immersion, nothing beats GT7 with a steering wheel set up. Even after 200 hours in this game in VR, i still grin like a little kid when I get into a new car and look around. Its made me really get into the sport mode too. Did the manufacturer's race this morning at the Nurbergring, full course. Started in heavy rain, cleared, then went into night, all in VR! To me it's a masterpiece!
Just put an hour and a half into the game and I'm loving it so far. Though definitely not the best looking psvr2 game, it's certainly one of the most fun I've played on it so far. And Buddy has to be one of the best pet companions in any game.
Can't wait to play this game, loved the first one. Glad it's reviewing really well. Great month of games for the system. Roll on 6 o'clock when I can start playing!
So looking forward to this, village was brilliant in psvr2, changed the game for me. Can't believe they are dropping it the day after Arizona sunshine 2 comes out! Then we get Vertigo 2 followed by help wanted 2! What a great month for the system!
The first one was quite fun, and this looks even better. Seems like they've given a lot of thought into replayability with the mini games. My son loves this whole universe so is really excited to play this. Its good that they are using all the headsets features too. December is looking a good month for the platform
Another great game to get in December. What with this, arizona sunshine 2(which looks fantastic) and help wanted 2, it's going to be an expensive month.
Glad to see it did well, hopefully that will mean we get some dlc. I put 17 hours into it, so well worth the money. Especially enjoyed the later stages when you've upgraded the gun, the kills get really gory then.
Will be interesting to see the sales numbers for this thing, if they release them. I probably won't buy one, but after watching gamertag vr's video I was impressed by what I saw. He had it tethered to his phones 5g, and was playing outside with seemingly no problems.
@Godot25 like they said, it's about player engagement, they want to get people playing for more hours. Obviously your already a ps5 owner, but they want you playing at times when it's not possible(tvs tied up, your away from your home).
In their minds, more play time equals buying more games, or subscribing to extra or premium.
@TrickyDicky99 no excuses, I don't like you, I'm not giving you any of my info.
You can call me all the playground names you like, believe whatever you like, I owe you nothing, certainly don't need to prove anything to you as you mean nothing.
You started this thread with your first post being a lie, and its been going down hill ever since. I wish you well.
@TrickyDicky99 no you've just made yourself look a bit stupid, and tedious! Just because I don't want to give my psn account to a stranger on the Internet that obviously has issues doesn't prove anything. I don't want my account being spammed by someone who's life is so lacking that they spend time reading a strangers old comments on a gaming website! Your opinion of me means nothing to me. Believe what you want, i really don't care.
@TrickyDicky99 you have just made my morning, that fact you've spent time reading through my old comments is brilliant! Thank you 😊 I'll admit out of all my gaming systems, I get the most enjoyment out of the PlayStation ecosystem! If that makes me a fanboy, I can live with that. As to giving you my ID, I'll just have to live with the crushing shame of disappointing you, of you not believing me! Oh the horror!
@TrickyDicky99 and why would I care that you think I'm a fraud? Crack on mate, no skin off my nose. Don't defend playstation, just like gaming. Hence why I have a switch, series x, ps5, steamdeck and a gaming pc. I have no loyalty to any box, they are all billion dollar companies and don't need my help.
You on the other hand, not sure what you are. A 130 games for psvr! Wow, now that is a waste of money!
@TrickyDicky99 no I never had psvr, was into PCVR back then that had proper controllers, psvr was a joke with the move controllers! Didn't want to waste my money! I do have plenty of games on steam, halflife alyx, project cars 2, arizona sunshine etc.
Oh I'm sure we'll get hybrid games like those, res evil 4/bulletstorm vr soon as you know. I was talking about AAA games built for VR. Not going to happen, too expensive. Plenty to look forward to though.
@TrickyDicky99 amazing fun games! Never cared about metacritic to be honest. I personally don't think we'll ever get AAA games in VR, just too expensive for the market share. If you thought otherwise, that's on you. I bought it for great experiences, and I've had loads so far. No mans sky on psvr1 looks like a ps1 game compared! Go check out someone playing it after the last update, it's just stunning! As for the quest ports, bring them on, the more the merrier! Pcvr is dead, quest is where the money is. As long as we get improved visuals with foveated rendering and it's a fun experience I really don't care. Sony have basically said its not their primary focus. They put it out there, made a few games, it's getting decent support, it's just another benefit that the PlayStation ecosystem offers, like the portal. I should imagine as long as it sells 5-10 million over its lifetime they'll be happy. What with them having record quarterly revenues, and planning to sell more consoles this year than in their entire history (mmm maybe the cross gen idea wasn't so bad after all) I think they'll survive even if its a flop.
@TrickyDicky99 I can list plenty of great games on it, and the ones coming soon like arizona sunshine 2, but I really can't be bothered. And if you think res evil village, no mans sky, gt7, horizon, red matter 2 etc look like games from 2016 I suggest you go to specsavers! But again, it's all subjective, you think it has crap games, I think it has great games. And people in reddit complain about everything! Show me a headset that doesn't have people moaning about comfort and has aftermarket add ons? All I can say is after 400-500 hours in psvr2 I've never had any comfort issues or sweet spots problems.
@TrickyDicky99 no I'm one of those people who just wants to play games, great games. That's what I accept! I really don't care what generation it's from as long as I get enjoyment from it! Must be quite sad to only try games that you think are worthy of you, to deny yourself the potential to really enjoy something because you can't get off your high horse!
PSvr2 has been out less than 9 months, to say it's a sales flop when you don't know the sales numbers is silly! It was never going to be a massive seller, it's an expensive add on to a growing platform, will never do quest numbers. Not that I care anyway, it's an amazing bit of kit, I find the sweet spot in seconds(so does everyone else who's tried it in my home), the hdr and colours are incredible, has great features and some amazing games with more coming. And even if it does flop in the end, I really don't care, its only money. After nearly 200 hours in gt7 vr and counting, its been worth every penny. My youngest son loves it, he's already beaten 5 games and got the platinum in 2 of them. Oh and the globular cluster is not needed, but from someone who's never tried it, your opinion means nothing.
@TrickyDicky99 good for you. I personally didn't rate gt sport at all. Gt7 in VR is the most immersive gaming I've ever had in 30 years of gaming(and I have pcvr too), the whole massive single player events, missions(the 1 hour races are brilliant), licences, time trials, 38 tracks all in vr! Then you have online, in vr with other players, dynamic weather, nothing comes close. I literally can't drive flat screen anymore, just so boring and restrictive! If that's dlc then 🤷.
I do find it funny that you have no interest in these games but you read articles on them, constantly comment in the threads on them! Me, if I have no interest in a game I don't read about it! Life's too short! Anyway, hopefully now no more cross gen titles from Sony, and hopefully you'll get games that do interest you.
@TrickyDicky99 good for you, don't spend your money! Don't play great games, don't have great experiences because their cross gen! You stick to your principals, whilst the rest of us just enjoy ourselves!
@TrickyDicky99 Again times now are completely different, game development costs have risen massively, as have playstations R&D budget! What happened 10-20 years ago doesn't matter! Also the ps4 was not backwards compatible with the ps3 so that doesn't count. Fact remains that they decided to do cross gen games for financial reasons, to get the most revenue possible for their games. So that they can make a profit from a much bigger user base for a game like horizon and its $212 million budget. We all know you don't like that from your constant moans, still doesn't stop it from being a great, fun title and arguably still the best looking open world console game ever made. Do I wish it had been ps5 only, yes! But as a gamer I just want to play great games, games like the masterpiece that GOW ragnarok is! I can't imagine not playing these amazing games because you have some sort of mental block that being cross gen your not going to play them, because they are potentially not a good as they could have been! Anyway, back to the original point. Your first post was completely wrong, that whole list is possible on the ps4(apart from sophy, which we already knew)! GT7 is a brilliant cross gen racing game, better in my opinion than a new next gen racing game.
@TrickyDicky99 don't know and personally don't care. Different times! On the back of the massively popular ps4, and with the uncertainty of the chip shortage, Sony weren't producing the amount of ps5's that they wanted to at launch and in the first years. We all know they pivoted from the generations spiel, because the chip shortage was throwing all their plans out the window. They took the financial decision to make the games cross gen and not lose the 120 million players, many of whom couldn't get a ps5! And also don't forget that game development now goes into the 100s of millions. You don't spend that sort of money at the start of a generation if your not selling the numbers you want and have financially planned for.
I know you keep going on and on about all these games should have been next gen only. For me personally the games I've enjoyed most on my ps5 and my series x have been the cross gen ones. GT7 is a better game than forza 8, looks better and plays better. Forspoken, redfall, starfield all very mediocre games.
@Mostik your in for a treat when you experience gt7 in VR for the first time! I can't drive flat anymore, I've 180 hours in this game in VR and it still blows me away every time! I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into this update, sophy looks like it's going to be a real challenge.
@TrickyDicky99 yeah and hopefully we won't have a world wide pandemic and a massive global semiconductor shortage so Sony can make enough ps6's from day one! So the install base can be built quickly, so they don't have to take the difficult decision to make the game cross gen like they did with gt7! If for nothing else so that we don't have to listen to people constantly moaning about cross gen games!

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Astro Bot?
Just over 3 hours in and I can't stop smiling. The inventiveness of the developers is off the chart. I hope this sells millions.
Re: FlatOut Returns with PSVR2 Title Now in Development
Really looking forward to this one. Be nice to have a less serious/ fun alternative to GT7.
Re: PS5 Pro Is Seemingly Starting to Appear in Source Code

Definitely a day one buy for me. Seems like there's a lot more to the game than just hack and slash. And the world looked stunning.

That's the best SOP I've seen in a long time. Much better than the last showcase.

And Metro VR looked awesome, the Metro universe with their gun play, day one for me.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PSVR2 Game of 2023
Some great games this year, I've had a blast, Star wars is just fun, resident evil village is transformed, Arizona sunshine 2 is my favourite new game.
But for shear immersion, nothing beats GT7 with a steering wheel set up. Even after 200 hours in this game in VR, i still grin like a little kid when I get into a new car and look around.
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Promises Major PS5, PS4 Update Next Week
@TrickyDicky99 good for you, don't spend your money! Don't play great games, don't have great experiences because their cross gen! You stick to your principals, whilst the rest of us just enjoy ourselves!
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Promises Major PS5, PS4 Update Next Week
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Promises Major PS5, PS4 Update Next Week
Re: Gran Turismo 7's New Advanced PS5 AI Could Change Racing Games Forever
@Mostik your in for a treat when you experience gt7 in VR for the first time! I can't drive flat anymore, I've 180 hours in this game in VR and it still blows me away every time!
I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into this update, sophy looks like it's going to be a real challenge.
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Promises Major PS5, PS4 Update Next Week
@TrickyDicky99 yeah and hopefully we won't have a world wide pandemic and a massive global semiconductor shortage so Sony can make enough ps6's from day one! So the install base can be built quickly, so they don't have to take the difficult decision to make the game cross gen like they did with gt7!
If for nothing else so that we don't have to listen to people constantly moaning about cross gen games!
