I completely agree that Bad Company 2 was the pinnacle of the series. So many great memories playing that game, all fps games seem to have gone backwards since that released. Have the beta downloaded ready for the weekend. Hope it lives up to the hype, quietly confident.
Really looking forward to the beta next weekend. If it's a good as all the reports are saying and feels like the days of battlefield 3+4 it will be a day one for me. Hoping the BR mode that's coming after launch has the destruction as well. Oh and a good anti cheat!
Brilliant news for them. I have been loving the game playing with my son and friend. Shows people want to play this type of tactical immersive game. Single or coop its a great experience,
A brilliant game. Looks good, gun play is solid and the audio is awesome. Very dark and gritty game too.
The single player is very good and a challenge, but the coop with my son and a friend has been a great experience. Beat all the missions plus dlc. Then went through getting an S grade, meaning no casualties/ deaths, you have to take down everyone non lethal! Also trying some missions on hard setting now. Games worth every penny.
@themightyant xdefiant, star wars outlaws, skull and bones all flops. All costing many many millions.
Ubisoft needed this game to sell, and sell in big numbers. Player numbers and how many hours played don't pay the bills.
@themightyant you think shareholders care about hours played? Player numbers? They mean nothing vs if the game actually made money/profit. I could have bought the game and my 2 boys played it on their profiles and that's 3 players for 1 sale. Yes you have subscriptions, how many paid the £15 for a month, beat the game and then cancelled their subscription? I do it all the time with tv subscriptions. When they delayed the game they said the cost of the extra few months was $22 million. This was a game in development for 5 years. The whole it went over the 100 million budget but we're not saying how much is a joke. Some industry people that know far more than me estimates it could be anywhere between 250 to 400 million, especially including marketing. That's a lot of full priced sales needed just to break even. Me personally I don't reckon they are near profitable. I may be wrong, but 5 million players just looks like PR spin to me.
@Frmknst you can play it as a full single player campaign, called commander mode. You take control of 4 ai teammates. You have to look after their welfare, carry out missions correctly. You can swap them out, fire and hire. Some missions flow into others. 20 missions in the main campaign, plus others they've added. Much more than just a multiplayer game. Personally think it's a bargain compared to some of the full priced AAA games we get these days.
@dskatter as I understand it, they had to censor a few small things(nothing game changing) to get it on console. As they are a small team I believe they only want one build of the game going forward, not 2 separate builds. Yes censorship can be bad, but this is hardly anything. More sales, more players, bigger and better future.
@ShogunRok it's a big list, but no Ready or Not! One of my most anticipated games of the year, can't wait to play it coop. Not sure if pushsquare have done an article on it or not, but it's releasing 15th July for £40!
Hard to pick 3 from such a great list! I'm going to get more of them, but my 3 were 007, ghost of yotei (as I loved the first one) and Romeo is a dead man! Romeo just looked mental, fun and very violent.
Be interesting to know how much it cost to develop and market.
Many reports say subscription services are stagnant right across the board. So after spending billions on these developers, these games need to be adding big subscription numbers, not just player numbers. If it's just current subscribers playing and no growth in the service then share holders are not going to be happy.
More hyped for this game than any other this year. GOT was almost a 100% masterpiece in my eyes, and I will be playing through it again before this new game drops.
To me it was not only the right decision, it was the only decision. The chances of them finding a cure in that hospital, in those conditions from one sample is miniscule. For them not to tell her the truth, and give her the right to sacrifice herself for the greater good makes them evil. Especially given the odds of it even working. Joel did it right, the only villians were the fireflies and they got what they deserved.
Excited to drop back into this map, many fond memories playing this back when warzone launched. But unless they get the cheating, bugs and the terrible servers sorted i don't think it will bring back and keep, the players numbers their hoping for.
I'm really enjoying my time with the game so far. Atmosphere and world building are straight from the first 2 films. Graphics are really good and I've had no performance problems. Yeah i agree the aliens themselves are a bit of a let down, movement wise. But it's still great fun using the pulse rifle (i really like the hand gun too) and tracker. So far it's an 8 from me, and I'm hopefully part 2 will be even better.
Great month for me. Definitely planning to try sonic, forspoken, WRC and FIST. And for anyone on premium with psvr2, I can highly recommend the Star Wars game. Had a brilliant time with it.
@BeerMonster you bought the consoles, they made the games and the platform to play other 3rd party games. They owe you nothing, but also you owe them nothing.
Nice to see some positively around the psvr2. I've loved mine since it's release day. A great package with some truly great gaming experiences. Definitely getting Aces, hitman, wanderer and the new alien game. Highly recommend to new owners star wars, both saints and sinners and the arizona games. Though GT7 with a steering wheel set up is one of the best gaming experiences you'll ever have.
I personally just want an updated Bad Company 2! Lots of destruction and great maps. Also with the state of warzone at the mo, I'd love a BR mode with the battlefield realism/destruction and game play.
This sounds very impressive, really intrigued to see how this effects the psvr2, especially after the proper patch! It's already one of the best, most immersive games in VR.
I love this series, and this looks like it could be one of the best VR games out there. I think the immersion will be incredible. I have it preordered, but will wait until my pro arrives before i start it! Sony took the money from my account for the pro today, so not long now!
@PsBoxSwitchOwner your forgetting that it's not just series X only. It's also out physically for the xbox one (and the ps4)! That's many consoles with a disk drive. So an 88% split seems pretty high to me.
I do love this series, remember playing the first one when it launched. So will definitely play it. But I do wish they would move on to another conflict. It's usually comes down to stopping some nazi super weapon. Even if they don't want to leave WW2, a sniper elite game set in the Pacific theatre would be a nice change of scenery and challenges.
Though I'm a bit disappointed not to play any further adventures of Jin, I can't wait to play this new game. I trust SP to really push on from the first game and give us something extraordinary.
I loved this game at launch, a well realised world, great characters and the hordes were just brilliant. I've been tempted to do a new run through on my ps5 so this does interest me. But it depends on what's added/ improved. If this is true and it sells well, I can always hope we get a sequel.
Really looking forward to this, hope we get a price and pre order date. As for whether it's needed or will sell well. That's for the market to decide. Personally I think it will sell millions, 10-20 mill. Especially if the marketing rights with GTA6 are true. Console only for probably the first year and the ps5 pro will be the best place to play it.
Day one for me too, don't even care what it looks like. I have faith Sony will load the end of the ps5 like they did the ps4s life, and the pro seems like it could be a nice bump up in capability.
Everything I read and see about this game makes it a day one buy for me. Love the flat games. The atmosphere in vr is going to be great and I love the little touches like having to put on your gas mask.
Really looking forward to this update. Be interesting to see how the new physics and tyres affect online races. And the new track should look amazing in VR.
@Stickleman that's really strange, I've been doing the dailies constantly for months and never had a race that wasn't full? Did daily C this morning at spa and it was packed. Did 6 daily B's yesterday back to back and each race was full.
Can't wait to try the GT One in VR! The game is in really great shape, especially with this week's daily race C. 20 laps at spa with dynamic weather in VR is really intense.
Nice another update. If your into online races, they have made some changes to the BOP, could have a big impact on the racing and which cars are competitive.
For me personally, I've had a great year with it. Comfy, easy to use, plug and play, great haptics and triggers and brilliant visuals. As for the games, some brilliant, some very good and obviously a lot of crap. But you get that with all systems. GT7 is a masterpiece and the best VR game I've ever played(especially with a seat and wheel setup). Loved star wars. Both saints and sinners were great. Arizona sunshine 2 was fun but a bit of a disappointment. Resident evil village was brilliant, such a difference from playing flat. Looking forward to trying Resident evil 4. Switchback, after the fall and Sierra squad were all very good and worth picking up. My youngest son has also loved the system. Though I limit his time on it, he's platiumed 5 games on it and finds it much better than my old pc vr setup. My opinion, its been a great first year, and there are some really good games that I'm looking forward to, Metro, aces of thunder, wanderer and zombie army.
I've really enjoyed my first year of psvr2, played some great games. Though after 200+ hours in gt7, to me it's still the best VR game. Looking forward to wanderer, zombie army vr should be great fun, and I'm always up for more arizona sunshine.
Sounds like they improved upon the brilliant original, but still kept the best part of the first game, namely the chaotic and fun bug killing! Sign me up!
That's the best SOP I've seen in a long time. Much better than the last showcase. Really hyped for a lot of the games, but Stellar blade really surprised me. Much more depth to the game than I thought it would have. And Metro VR looked awesome, the Metro universe with their gun play, day one for me.
After I finish Arizona sunshine 2 this will be my next vr2 experience (if I can stop playing gt7). It's had great reviews across the board! With this and bulletstorm it's a decent month for the platform.
Some great games this year, I've had a blast, Star wars is just fun, resident evil village is transformed, Arizona sunshine 2 is my favourite new game. But for shear immersion, nothing beats GT7 with a steering wheel set up. Even after 200 hours in this game in VR, i still grin like a little kid when I get into a new car and look around. Its made me really get into the sport mode too. Did the manufacturer's race this morning at the Nurbergring, full course. Started in heavy rain, cleared, then went into night, all in VR! To me it's a masterpiece!
