Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Sales Swing Past 5 Million Units Milestone 1

Insomniac Games’ critically acclaimed superhero sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold over five million copies, as of 30th October. The figure was confirmed as part of a Sony earnings call, and later celebrated on social media by the Burbank-based developer. It means the game took about ten days to pass the milestone, a little longer than God of War Ragnarok which achieved the same feat in just four days. However, it’s worth remembering the latter also launched on PS4.

“Woo! We're incredibly honored to announce Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has sold over five million copies,” the developer said. “Thank you to our incredible community for supporting us and helping us reach this milestone.”

We loved the PS5 exclusive, and described it as “an absolute blast” in our Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 review. “This is a confident sequel that builds on the previous games in practically every way possible,” we wrote. “Smart additions and refinements to traversal, combat, and open world activities mean this is the best Spidey game from Insomniac yet.”
