Re: Mini Review: Aces of Thunder (PSVR2) - Immersive Spectacle Throws You to the Wolves

Serialsid

@NavalHistorian it's not really a campaign as such. Just 10 historical missions(Though one is training) and 13 they have created. There is a fair few hours of content in that, plus the mission creator but it's not a normal campaign. I like yourself used to love falcon 4.0 and spent many hours in a f117 and playing this game in VR would have blown my teenage brain apart. The level of immersion is incredible. But If you've never used vr you would need to build up gradually.

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

Serialsid

Well, it looks bloody awful to me. I love the first two games, the graphics, gritty world and the grounded characters. This is just a mess, and the heros, Jesus they learnt nothing from concord. Why are they all smirking? They had so many great characters from the main games to pick from but they had to chase the fortnite crowd.
I would have genuinely played a coop game set in the main game with my friends, taking down the machines together and exploring the world. But none of us have any interest in this.
I believe it will be DOA because it won't attract the people they think it will!

Re: Mini Review: Aces of Thunder (PSVR2) - Immersive Spectacle Throws You to the Wolves

I've been loving it so far. Extremely immersive and fun. I don't think the learn curve is too bad, but could definitely do with some more training missions.
Graphics on the whole are great, cockpit details are amazing. Sometimes the clouds, especially from above can look a bit off. Tons of missions, 22 plus the training one. The editor is a great tool. Haven't tried online yet, still getting to grips with the flight model.
I managed to get a hotas 4 from cex for £55 and it works great with this game once you change a few button options. Bought it for this and MS flight simulator when the VR drops, so consider it money well spent
I'd definitely give the game an 8 or a 9, nothing apart from GT7 gives you this level of immersion. Just hold onto your stomach when you go into a spin!

Re: Sydney Sweeney's Split Fiction Movie Has Its First Script, and Josef Fares Has Seen It

@RoomWithaMoose I'd argue that for the majority of the population public sentiment hasn't changed that much in the last 20 years. It's just now we have people that seem to wake up every morning thinking "what shall I be offended by today"!
For me personally, they could have put any attractive woman of any nationality or race in the advert and it would have still been great. And yes attractive people sell, shocker!
Anyway I look forward to the film of a great game with a genuine nice person as a lead.

@RoomWithaMoose "Just saying, looking at it as an ad that's supposed to sell people something, kinda a s*** ad."
That line of jeans sold out in a week. Share price went up and added 400 million to the company's value. The company was in a downward trend.
Forbes, "American Eagle Outfitters Inc. posted third-quarter results that outpaced expectations as the retailer raised its outlook and left weakness earlier this year in the rear view mirror."
"The apparel company cooked up a storm earlier this year when adverts extolling actress Sydney Sweeney’s genes/jeans caused the kind of controversy a brand can hardly buy.

American Eagle said its quarterly revenue rose 6% to a record” $1.4 billion, which was ahead of Wall Street’s expectations for revenue of $1.3 billion, with earnings of 53 cents per share also above forecasts of 44 cents a share."
Not bad for a crap ad eh!

Re: Gran Turismo 7's Power Pack DLC Is a $30 PS5 Add-On

Serialsid

Bit more than I thought it would be, but I'm day one. We've had years of free content and this seems like many more hours of new single player content.
The full race weekends, championships and 24hr races are going to be great in VR. After over 400hrs in this game, it's still one of, if not the best experiences in VR in gaming today. A brilliant piece of software.

Re: Biggest Gran Turismo 7 Overhaul Yet in This Week's Spec 3 Update, Power Pack DLC

Serialsid

Can't wait for both these updates. The 2 new tracks look really good and love some of the cars.
Will be interesting to see the price of the power pack. Looking forward to the single player races and the updated AI, even championships I believe. And with the 24 hour races(a long requested feature), will they be bring back B Spec? Let an ai driver drive for you, and you'll be able to speed up time! I'm presuming you'll be able to save the race whilst in the pits!
Will be waiting Friday with the VR ready!

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Battlefield 6?

Serialsid

I gave it a 9.
Only played the MP and have been loving it. Takes me back to BC2 days. Runs and looks great, gun play is brilliant, sounds effects are first class. Atmosphere is spot on, watching someone dragging a team mate into cover is so cinematic. Good to have proper destruction back aswell.
Dropped a point for the slow leveling up and some of the stupid challenges.
But I'm having a great time, interested to see how the seasons, maps, content and the BR mode turn out in the coming months.

Re: Rumour: New PS5 DualSense Controller Will Feature a Removable Battery

Serialsid

This sounds like a great idea. Especially if 3rd party companies did their own replacements.
I had a company put 4 back paddles on one of my controllers and at the same time they put a bigger battery inside. I can l get around 12 hours out of it now.
So it's definitely possible to upgrade
the battery, and if Sony made it easier for the customer to do themselves, this could be a really winner for gamers.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Will Go Up Against Battlefield 6 from 14th November

Serialsid

Been loving bf6 beta, rush was great yesterday. After buying COD the last 2 years it's definitely just bf6 for me this year.
COD is just so bland now, static/lifeless tiny maps with cartoon characters running around. And with warzone now just a mess with terrible servers and overrun with cheaters, if bf6 lands the free BR I can uninstall COD completely.
Though I think bf6 will be the better game, I'm under no illusion that COD won't sell millions more copies and be the best seller of the year. Though maybe bf6 might take a few million off them.
What's good for us gamers though is strong competition between the two will hopefully mean better games for both sets of fans.

Re: Battlefield 6's Open Beta Has Completely Blown Up

Serialsid

I've put in 12 hours over the weekend and I've been really enjoying it. Really feels like they have captured the essence of what made bc2, bf3 and bf4 so good.
With COD been so stale now, and the developers being so lazy and complacent, it's great to see developers showing their passion for a game. Nothing beats the big game moments you get in a decent battlefield, and I've had so many over the weekend. Looking forward to trying out the New York map on Thursday.
With this and Ghost out in October, it's going to be a great month.

Re: Call of Duty 'Too Big to Fail' as Activision Braces for Massive Battlefield 6 Hype

Serialsid

Just looked on steam player numbers, the closed beta is sitting at 325k. That's just steam, never mind the ea app or epic game store, playstation or Xbox. The open beta this weekend is going to be big numbers.
Speaking personally, if this game lands in great shape and the BR mode is good(please have destruction and weather) I'll uninstall COD and warzone. Warzone is just a mess, cheating and servers are a joke now.
Obviously COD is probably too big to fail, but I'm sure their numbers will drop.

Re: Ready or Not (PS5) - Disturbing Co-Op Shooter Is a Tactical Must-Play

Serialsid

A brilliant game. Looks good, gun play is solid and the audio is awesome. Very dark and gritty game too.
The single player is very good and a challenge, but the coop with my son and a friend has been a great experience. Beat all the missions plus dlc. Then went through getting an S grade, meaning no casualties/ deaths, you have to take down everyone non lethal! Also trying some missions on hard setting now. Games worth every penny.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Tops 5 Million Players, Performs 'In Line with Expectations'

Serialsid

@themightyant you think shareholders care about hours played? Player numbers? They mean nothing vs if the game actually made money/profit.
I could have bought the game and my 2 boys played it on their profiles and that's 3 players for 1 sale. Yes you have subscriptions, how many paid the £15
for a month, beat the game and then
cancelled their subscription? I do it all
the time with tv subscriptions.
When they delayed the game they said the cost of the extra few months was $22 million. This was a game in development for 5 years. The whole it went over the 100 million budget but we're not saying how much is a joke. Some industry people that know far more than me estimates it could be anywhere between 250 to 400 million, especially including marketing. That's a lot of full priced sales needed just to break even.
Me personally I don't reckon they are near profitable. I may be wrong, but 5 million players just looks like PR spin to me.

Re: Interview: Out Today, Ready or Not Is the Modern, Relentless Rainbow Six: Vegas for PS5

Serialsid

@Frmknst you can play it as a full single player campaign, called commander mode. You take control of 4 ai teammates. You have to look after their welfare, carry out missions correctly. You can swap them out, fire and hire. Some missions flow into others. 20 missions in the main campaign, plus others they've added.
Much more than just a multiplayer game. Personally think it's a bargain compared to some of the full priced AAA games we get these days.

Re: Analytics Firm Predicts Paltry Full-Price Sales for DOOM: The Dark Ages on PS5

Serialsid

Be interesting to know how much it cost to develop and market.
Many reports say subscription services are stagnant right across the board. So after spending billions on these developers, these games need to be adding big subscription numbers, not just player numbers. If it's just current subscribers playing and no growth in the service then share holders are not going to be happy.

Re: The Last of Us Boss Answers Its Most Profound Question: Was Joel Right?

Serialsid

To me it was not only the right decision, it was the only decision. The chances of them finding a cure in that hospital, in those conditions from one sample is miniscule.
For them not to tell her the truth, and give her the right to sacrifice herself for the greater good makes them evil. Especially given the odds of it even working.
Joel did it right, the only villians were the fireflies and they got what they deserved.

Re: Alien: Rogue Incursion (PSVR2) - A Solid First VR Venture into an Iconic Sci-Fi World

Serialsid

I'm really enjoying my time with the game so far. Atmosphere and world building are straight from the first 2 films. Graphics are really good and I've had no performance problems.
Yeah i agree the aliens themselves are a bit of a let down, movement wise. But it's still great fun using the pulse rifle (i really like the hand gun too) and tracker.
So far it's an 8 from me, and I'm hopefully part 2 will be even better.

Re: Shocking: Sony Promotes PSVR2 with New Trailer Showcasing Upcoming Games

Serialsid

Nice to see some positively around the psvr2. I've loved mine since it's release day. A great package with some truly great gaming experiences.
Definitely getting Aces, hitman, wanderer and the new alien game.
Highly recommend to new owners star wars, both saints and sinners and the arizona games. Though GT7 with a steering wheel set up is one of the best gaming experiences you'll ever have.

Re: Metro Awakening Will Be a Reason to Own PSVR2 This Holiday

Serialsid

I love this series, and this looks like it could be one of the best VR games out there. I think the immersion will be incredible.
I have it preordered, but will wait until my pro arrives before i start it! Sony took the money from my account for the pro today, so not long now!
