This game with 3 friends in coop is an absolute blast. You can play like idiots, all having a helicopter and tearing around the massive map doing stupid things. Or play it extremely tactical, taking out some of the hardest bases using stealth and teamwork.
@Mr-Cage again the studios weren't bought to sell games. They were bought to pad out a service. A service that didn't grow so now they are being let go. Nobody is saying they are evil. Just idiots for thinking they could grow GP to be big enough to be profitable long term. The failure in Microsofts eyes is xbox as a whole, now they are trimming the fat.
@Mr-Cage but you said the studios failed, and they didn't. They weren't bought to make games that sold millions of copies, they were bought to fill out a service. The business model failed. They should never have been acquired in the first place.
@Mr-Cage xbox's whole plan this gen was to have 100 million subscriptions of GP! To do that they went on a massive spending spree, buying studio after studio to pad out GP, to have a day one exclusive game every month. To keep people hooked on the service. This obviously hasn't happened. They got it completely wrong, it was never going to get the numbers they needed to offset the massive outlay. That's on the heads of the company, not the studios. The studios were making games for the service, any sales were just a bonus. I would bet a lot of money that If GP had 100 million subscriptions right now none of these studios would be under threat. The experiment failed and these studios are going to take the brunt of that failure.
@NerdyPaul I'm pretty sure they are still going to be plenty of other shops still in the game. They just won't sell/mod what you can get in the ultimate edition ones. Your not going to be losing any features, just certain cosmetics.
@themightyant apparently they are releasing the physical copies a week early on the 12th. So you'll be able pre download the same as if you bought it digital.
@JRM9 that's the pro model, not the standard version the casuals buy that launched day one. . The PS6 will launch at a max of £750. Anything over and it's DOA, and Sony know this. Will see who's right when it launches.
Analysts are predicting 25 million plus in the first day alone, this game is going to be a juggernaut! I'll wait till a week before and then preorder. Usually like physical but I think this game is going to be on my hard drive for a long time so will go with digital.
An excellent update yet again. This has been my go to psvr2 game ever since I got the headset. I'm bettng these cars/category will be in race C next week. Going to be great driving them.
@KundaliniRising333 you make a lot of good points about how xbox and MS could change their fortunes and that of Sony. But one big problem with all of that, apparently Helix is a beast of a machine, that many tech analysts say is going to cost way over 1k just to build. To do everything you suggested would mean MS taking a large loss on every unit sold. I really don't see the top people at MS doing that, even if might get them their long term goals.
With project helix just around the corner, it's an interesting time for her to be talking about exclusives. From everything I've seen and read about their Console/PC hybrid, it's a beast of a machine, very high spec. Basically a PC that will play all your old Console xbox games, but going forward they would just be the PC version. Most tech experts put the price at well over 1k. So I'm wondering, if they couldn't get a big install base with a very cheap (through most it's life, not now) Console option, how are they going to make having exclusives work on an even smaller install base? Most casuals won't buy a 1k+ machine, and most PC gamers spending that much would just get a normal PC that they can upgrade in the future.
Well the trailer killed any interest for me. The cube is a joke, looked awful, and though I like her character i have no interest in playing this story. Like the man or not, he's allowed his opinion, more so than most. How you take that opinion is upto you. I'm sure it will sell in the millions, but much less than the latest GOW games. Would be interesting to know the budget and how much Sony are expecting it to sell. I'd put money on them being disappointed.
I enjoyed the first game playing with friends, but we hit a lot of technical issues playing online. Hopefully they sort that out for the sequel. Also, as fun as it was, it became very repetitive after a while, definitely needs more variation in the level/ mission design.
From everything I've seen and read, you need a very good Internet connection to play this in VR. The game is only an 8gb download on PS5. The game streams photogrammetry, scenery, and textures in real-time. A fast Internet is crucial to avoid scenery popping and to ensure a smooth, low-latency experience in VR. It's strange as you can download 140gb on pc and that helps massively. I do intend to get this, just waiting for a sale.
Preordered from amazon. They are doing a launch edition, comes with a 34 page art book and a world map poster. Can't wait to jump back into the pirate world.
For the gaming industry, XBOX having exclusives is a good thing. But this generation is over for them. Their next machine is apparently a €1200+ PC/ console hybrid, which will be lucky to sell 10 million units, and that's being generous. So if they go exclusive, they'll have a small console base for GP, and a very saturated PC gaming space to compete in. Losing hundreds of millions not putting their games on Sony and Nintendo machines just doesn't make financial sense. They are now the biggest gaming publishers in the world, I believe they will continue on their current cause. But then MS/Xbox have been all over the place for the last 10 years, nothing they do would surprise me now.
Loved the original, my favourite AC by far. This looks really good, improved graphics, more quests, more things to find and better ship combat. Day one for me.
Is GP still monthly only though? and not discounting for a yearly price? Because at face value GP is arguably better as a monthly price with day one games. But I've always done my PS extra yearly, which works out loads cheaper and better value (same with premium). I've just renewed for £85 for the year with a online gift card. Good to see some competition again.
I enjoyed all 3, great games! But I think Split Fiction was just on another level for it's level/game design, innovation and pure fun! Their next game will be a day one buy I'm sure.
I'm going to do a brand new run with the Ray Tracing Pro mode at 40fps! Haven't played it since completing it on my base ps5 years ago, so really looking forward to getting back into the world! One of my favourite world/game of all time.
This game is just mental. How they come up with this new and wacky ideas, and then tie them into the main game is seriously impressive. God knows what they'll come up with next. All I know is that they must have some of the best and most creative developers in the industry.
@Northern_munkey definitely try both arizona sunshine games. I've been replaying through both and the dlc with my son in co op and it's s brilliant time, really fun messing around together.
This site is so negative about the psvr2! It's like they wanted it to fail from the start. I've played many games since buying at launch, and it's been brilliant. Nothing comes close to the immersion of gt7 with a wheel set up. Still makes me smile everytime I play. And I've had at least 20 great gaming experiences in the headset so I've never regretted the purchase. Yes Sony have been very poor at supporting the device, luckily plenty of developers have supported it. MS Flight will sell a few units i bet.
@NavalHistorian Also, to your other question about psvr2, for me personally it's definitely worth the money. I have over 300 hours in GT7 vr, playing a flat car game after feels boring. I have just over 50 games for the system, of varying quality I'll admit. But it has some amazing experiences you just can't get on the normal screen.
@NavalHistorian it's not really a campaign as such. Just 10 historical missions(Though one is training) and 13 they have created. There is a fair few hours of content in that, plus the mission creator but it's not a normal campaign. I like yourself used to love falcon 4.0 and spent many hours in a f117 and playing this game in VR would have blown my teenage brain apart. The level of immersion is incredible. But If you've never used vr you would need to build up gradually.
Well, it looks bloody awful to me. I love the first two games, the graphics, gritty world and the grounded characters. This is just a mess, and the heros, Jesus they learnt nothing from concord. Why are they all smirking? They had so many great characters from the main games to pick from but they had to chase the fortnite crowd. I would have genuinely played a coop game set in the main game with my friends, taking down the machines together and exploring the world. But none of us have any interest in this. I believe it will be DOA because it won't attract the people they think it will!
I've been loving it so far. Extremely immersive and fun. I don't think the learn curve is too bad, but could definitely do with some more training missions. Graphics on the whole are great, cockpit details are amazing. Sometimes the clouds, especially from above can look a bit off. Tons of missions, 22 plus the training one. The editor is a great tool. Haven't tried online yet, still getting to grips with the flight model. I managed to get a hotas 4 from cex for £55 and it works great with this game once you change a few button options. Bought it for this and MS flight simulator when the VR drops, so consider it money well spent I'd definitely give the game an 8 or a 9, nothing apart from GT7 gives you this level of immersion. Just hold onto your stomach when you go into a spin!
@RoomWithaMoose I'd argue that for the majority of the population public sentiment hasn't changed that much in the last 20 years. It's just now we have people that seem to wake up every morning thinking "what shall I be offended by today"! For me personally, they could have put any attractive woman of any nationality or race in the advert and it would have still been great. And yes attractive people sell, shocker! Anyway I look forward to the film of a great game with a genuine nice person as a lead.
@RoomWithaMoose A bit more than a flash. Was a clever ad playing on her being an attractive woman with great genes/jeans. 20 years ago it wouldn't have stirred up any controversy, and any interpretation that is racist is in the individuals own head!
@RoomWithaMoose "Just saying, looking at it as an ad that's supposed to sell people something, kinda a s*** ad." That line of jeans sold out in a week. Share price went up and added 400 million to the company's value. The company was in a downward trend. Forbes, "American Eagle Outfitters Inc. posted third-quarter results that outpaced expectations as the retailer raised its outlook and left weakness earlier this year in the rear view mirror." "The apparel company cooked up a storm earlier this year when adverts extolling actress Sydney Sweeney’s genes/jeans caused the kind of controversy a brand can hardly buy.
American Eagle said its quarterly revenue rose 6% to a record” $1.4 billion, which was ahead of Wall Street’s expectations for revenue of $1.3 billion, with earnings of 53 cents per share also above forecasts of 44 cents a share." Not bad for a crap ad eh!
If they do it right, this could be a really fun movie. I loved the game, so much originality and imagination. And though she's not the best actress in the world, I'm sure she'd be great in this. Seems like one of the few genuine people left in Hollywood.
Will buy the game the day the psvr2 patch drops. With this and Aces of thunder, I'm going to be spending hours in the sky's (and probably crashing into the ground)! Just need to get hold of a hotas 4!
Will buy MS flight simulator when we get a confirmed release date for the psvr2. I don't trust MS's word anymore. Has the potential to be absolutely brilliant though.
Bit more than I thought it would be, but I'm day one. We've had years of free content and this seems like many more hours of new single player content. The full race weekends, championships and 24hr races are going to be great in VR. After over 400hrs in this game, it's still one of, if not the best experiences in VR in gaming today. A brilliant piece of software.
@yume26 that looks like a great first time setup! I reckon you'll love it. I use a playseat challenge myself, with a fanatec dd pro. I fold it away after every play session, takes less than 2 minutes, it's very easy to do.
@lessthanleo thanks for the link. Little bit more than I'd hoped, but I'll still be there day one. Looking forward to the full race weekends against the newer AI!
Can't wait for both these updates. The 2 new tracks look really good and love some of the cars. Will be interesting to see the price of the power pack. Looking forward to the single player races and the updated AI, even championships I believe. And with the 24 hour races(a long requested feature), will they be bring back B Spec? Let an ai driver drive for you, and you'll be able to speed up time! I'm presuming you'll be able to save the race whilst in the pits! Will be waiting Friday with the VR ready!
I gave it a 9. Only played the MP and have been loving it. Takes me back to BC2 days. Runs and looks great, gun play is brilliant, sounds effects are first class. Atmosphere is spot on, watching someone dragging a team mate into cover is so cinematic. Good to have proper destruction back aswell. Dropped a point for the slow leveling up and some of the stupid challenges. But I'm having a great time, interested to see how the seasons, maps, content and the BR mode turn out in the coming months.
This sounds like a great idea. Especially if 3rd party companies did their own replacements. I had a company put 4 back paddles on one of my controllers and at the same time they put a bigger battery inside. I can l get around 12 hours out of it now. So it's definitely possible to upgrade the battery, and if Sony made it easier for the customer to do themselves, this could be a really winner for gamers.
Is it just a reskin of returnal, mostly yes! Do I care, Nope! Returnal is a masterpiece to me, one of the most immersive, atmospheric and dialed in games I've ever played. Best use of the dual sense in ps5 too. Can't wait till March!
Been loving bf6 beta, rush was great yesterday. After buying COD the last 2 years it's definitely just bf6 for me this year. COD is just so bland now, static/lifeless tiny maps with cartoon characters running around. And with warzone now just a mess with terrible servers and overrun with cheaters, if bf6 lands the free BR I can uninstall COD completely. Though I think bf6 will be the better game, I'm under no illusion that COD won't sell millions more copies and be the best seller of the year. Though maybe bf6 might take a few million off them. What's good for us gamers though is strong competition between the two will hopefully mean better games for both sets of fans.
I've put in 12 hours over the weekend and I've been really enjoying it. Really feels like they have captured the essence of what made bc2, bf3 and bf4 so good. With COD been so stale now, and the developers being so lazy and complacent, it's great to see developers showing their passion for a game. Nothing beats the big game moments you get in a decent battlefield, and I've had so many over the weekend. Looking forward to trying out the New York map on Thursday. With this and Ghost out in October, it's going to be a great month.
Just looked on steam player numbers, the closed beta is sitting at 325k. That's just steam, never mind the ea app or epic game store, playstation or Xbox. The open beta this weekend is going to be big numbers. Speaking personally, if this game lands in great shape and the BR mode is good(please have destruction and weather) I'll uninstall COD and warzone. Warzone is just a mess, cheating and servers are a joke now. Obviously COD is probably too big to fail, but I'm sure their numbers will drop.

Will buy MS flight simulator when we get a confirmed release date for the psvr2. I don't trust MS's word anymore. Has the potential to be absolutely brilliant though.
Re: Gran Turismo 7's Power Pack DLC Is a $30 PS5 Add-On
Bit more than I thought it would be, but I'm day one. We've had years of free content and this seems like many more hours of new single player content.
The full race weekends, championships and 24hr races are going to be great in VR. After over 400hrs in this game, it's still one of, if not the best experiences in VR in gaming today. A brilliant piece of software.
Re: Gran Turismo 7's Biggest Update Yet Available to Pre-Load on PS5, PS4 Now
@yume26 that looks like a great first time setup! I reckon you'll love it.
I use a playseat challenge myself, with a fanatec dd pro. I fold it away after every play session, takes less than 2 minutes, it's very easy to do.
Re: Gran Turismo 7's Biggest Update Yet Available to Pre-Load on PS5, PS4 Now
@lessthanleo thanks for the link. Little bit more than I'd hoped, but I'll still be there day one. Looking forward to the full race weekends against the newer AI!
Re: Biggest Gran Turismo 7 Overhaul Yet in This Week's Spec 3 Update, Power Pack DLC
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Battlefield 6?
I gave it a 9.
Only played the MP and have been loving it. Takes me back to BC2 days. Runs and looks great, gun play is brilliant, sounds effects are first class. Atmosphere is spot on, watching someone dragging a team mate into cover is so cinematic. Good to have proper destruction back aswell.
Dropped a point for the slow leveling up and some of the stupid challenges.
But I'm having a great time, interested to see how the seasons, maps, content and the BR mode turn out in the coming months.
Re: Rumour: New PS5 DualSense Controller Will Feature a Removable Battery
This sounds like a great idea. Especially if 3rd party companies did their own replacements.
I had a company put 4 back paddles on one of my controllers and at the same time they put a bigger battery inside. I can l get around 12 hours out of it now.
So it's definitely possible to upgrade
the battery, and if Sony made it easier for the customer to do themselves, this could be a really winner for gamers.
Re: Saros Launches Exclusively on PS5 in March 2026, and It Looks Fantastic in First Gameplay
Is it just a reskin of returnal, mostly yes! Do I care, Nope!
Returnal is a masterpiece to me, one of the most immersive, atmospheric and dialed in games I've ever played. Best use of the dual sense in ps5 too.
Can't wait till March!
Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Will Take Off on PS5 This December
PSVR2 support is going to be brilliant. Will wait till it's in the game then will be a day one buy.
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Will Go Up Against Battlefield 6 from 14th November
Re: Battlefield 6's Open Beta Has Completely Blown Up
I've put in 12 hours over the weekend and I've been really enjoying it.
Re: Call of Duty 'Too Big to Fail' as Activision Braces for Massive Battlefield 6 Hype
