I only ever played SR 3 and 4 and certainly enjoyed them for all their silly humour but after the hideously mediocre Agents of Mayhem I was wary about Volition plus I’m more than busy enough with replaying The Witcher 3 (Pretty much finished for the 5th time after 200 more hours takes me to about 850 hours overall!) and God of War not to mention trying to get back into my frequent movie a night routine so I waited for reviews and thankfully avoided a potentially catastrophic purchase. From what I’ve seen and heard I can’t see myself picking it up until it’s under £10-15 and I might even skip it altogether. Here’s hoping GiW Ragnarok doesn’t slip and gives me a top tier game to see the year out. Still feeling.a slight burn that after nearly 2 years there are way too few unmissable PS5 only titles as this could have been a contender but quite clearly is anything but …
Like the majority of comments I agree that this is both good and bad insofar as we may be free from endless jumping food and lettered animals but unless a game sells well like, say, the recent Stray it’ll still be lost amidst all the lazy trash.
And yes, I have got all three I Am Mayo Platinums but even I’d never stoop so long as to fill my trophy list with this relentless barrage of garbage. In fact I’d say that since I’ve had my PS5 I’ve seen the store slowly become less enticing and more packed with cheap tat that would insult last last gen let alone current gen. Yes, I get that “retro” is kinda cool and I’ve enjoyed many indie titles without the need of fancy visuals and 60FPS but so many weeks have found me perusing recent releases only to wonder quite when we’ll get more titles that utilise the new tech and don’t just churn out another lane platformer or an uninspiring RPG …
Hmmm, now this is a tricky one. I replayed Edith Finch last night on PS5 and still found it enchanting, beautifully concise, narratively bold and beautiful and utterly unique but I couldn’t help but feel the updated version was a slightly missed opportunity. Some, perhaps even myself, would say how can you improve on perfection but despite all my praise it’s not a perfect experience. The first story is arguably its weakest as well as the one saddled with the clunkiest controls and weakest visuals and though overall the game looked beautiful it could have benefitted from a slight polish in places as well as utilising the Dualsense functions which, yet again, is all but ignored. To be able to feel the wind rushing past as you climb higher on the swing or feel the water engulf you as you dive deeper into childlike fantasy would have a added just that little next gen flourish to the experience.
Maybe it’s because I replayed it so much on PS4 that the magic and element of surprise was somewhat lacking though that’s more personal and for anyone playing fir the first time I can only envy them the experience as they uncover these brief glimpses into this utterly unforgettable family.
Oh, and they could have at least given us a proper Platinum!?!
I got a few whist playing Sackboy and a handful more with Deep Rock Galactic but honestly never saw the point of them as they just sort of sit there and gather virtual dust. So no, can’t say it’s a loss at all as hopefully it’ll declutter my profile screen.
Still, cheers for those who gave me any even though, like me, I know it was only because you idly pressed the button whilst the lobby was reloading!
I’ve already completed the game twice. Once with the original edition and then again with the Royal. Yes, it’s a superb game but the PS5 upgrade doesn’t sound like it’ll be a huge difference so I’ll be skipping it. Definitely worth buying if you’ve never played it but if I’ve got to pay then I won’t play!
I’m currently 120 hours into my 5th playthrough and just about to start the Battle of Kaer Morhan so I’ve still a way to go in the main campaign let alone the two DLCs. And you know what? It’s still utterly fantastic, gorgeous to look at and an unforgettable experience despite its flaws (Yes, Roach’s AI is shonky and that Palio race is still totally unfair)
So knowing my luck they will announce the PS5 version as I fully intend to finish my current playthrough. Would I dive straight back into things with a next gen version? I think I’d need a break to be honest but within a year or maybe sooner I’ll happily head back to The Inn at White Orchard, play my first round of Gwent and hunt that Griffin. Easily my favourite game of all time and this current playthrough beats all other gaming moments from 2022.
Unfortunately my gaming room gets the bulk of the sunshine and can get unbearable during hot weather so my gaming won’t be as extensive as usual but as and when I can grab a breath of fresh air I’ll be continuing The Witcher 3 again. Finally caved in and started a 5th run through and thanking old age as I’ve forgotten a surprising amount of the side content plus how to play Gwent properly. I’m currently 110 hours in and have just returned Uma to Kaer Morhaaen, collected all base Gwent cards, crafted and upgraded a few sets of armour and completed the majority of contracts.
But, as fans of the game will know, that still leaves a chortload of content plus the two expansions so I’m expecting at least 200 hours if not more come the end of my journey.
As for how it’s aged I had my initial doubts and it’s not perfect (Roach’s AI is especially random and the climbing can be infuriatingly inaccurate and frustrating) but as of today I can safely say it’s still my favourite game of all time and this playthrough my best gaming experience of 2022 thus far …
Yeah, let’s just keep complain8ng. Ooh, we want GTA6 but they’re too focussed on RDR2. But now it’s the other way round. So you know what? If they don’t release a PS5 version we just won’t get one and have to replay the original. And be grateful we ever got that in the first place. Why is nothing really ever enough anymore? There’s always some issue to bombard the internet with. But I don’t like the story! Ooh, the graphics are terrible! But it’s been delayed again AND the DLC has been cancelled.
It’s a tough world, folks, and you just have to accept the cards your dealt, enjoy what’s available and stop bloody complaining …
Drop the price and include a free upgrade for Part 2 on PS5 and I might be more interested but otherwise I can’t but think Naughty Dog need to move on and stop milking past glories …
Absolutely adored this game from beginning to end though a PS5 version would have been even better. But that price? How long before every new game costs almost £100? And of course the special limited custom made individually crafted and numbered edition that requires you to sell your home if you want to preorder it and get 1 hour early access!
Flawed but horribly underrated. Really enjoyed my time with it and I’ll definitely replay it again for another Platinum. 4/10? Utterly ridiculous but I guess everyone has different opinions. Feel free to disagree but it was at least a 6 for me and quite possibly a 7. I’ll get back to you when I replay it if I remember and you treat me nicely 🤔
Finally started my 5th playthrough of The Witcher 3 and it’s still a stunning game, albeit one that certainly has some issues and is starting to look dated now. But for a 7 year old game it’s still incredible, the characters, setting, writing and world building still amongst the best ever and the two expansions absolutely incredible in quality and quantity. Plus the gorgeous soundtrack …
… anyway, that’ll keep me occupied for a few hundred more hours then I can rinse and repeat all over again when the PS5 version releases. That should bring my total playtime to well over 1000 hours in which I could have achieved so much more but, and this is the important part, it wouldn’t have been half as much fun!
Already played Crash on PS4 and 5 and bought Man of Medan in a deal with Little Hope and House of Ashes. The former is a cracking platformer that stays true to the original trilogy and is suitably Rick hard to 109%. Man of Medan is also great fun if you enjoy the Supermassive horror games. Shorter than the recent The Quarry but still a fun game in a promising franchise.
So that’s two I’ve already got and Arcageddon sounds suitably forgettable multiplayer dross.
Oh well, another month goes by and I’m still not upgrading. Too expensive for what you get and I’ve got movies to buy.
Primarily The Quarry which I’ve nearly finished before a second, more trophy-focused playthrough. Really enjoyed it and found it surprisingly witty and suitably gory. Plus Ted Raimi is really great amongst the supporting cast and Grace Zabriskie absolutely perfect as the mystic seer who assists the player akin to Peter Stormare in Until Dawn.
Otherwise it’ll be more Sniper Elite 5 which I’ve nearly Platinumed but would love some assistance on the Axis Invasion so anyone interested feel free to add me at SAMTYLER1974 for that, multiplayer and survival.
I’ve also found myself back with AC Valhalla lately so a brief stint in that may be in the books.
And for the grey cells Im determined to get 100% on Monster’s Expedition and finish finding all those pesky snowmen and hidden islands.
Then if I get time it’ll be movie time with a huge pile of new titles to catch up with and revisit!
Either way here’s wishing everyone an enjoyable, restful weekend. Stay safe y’all x
Too early to say but it’s certainly not a title that’s piqued my interest yet. Enjoyed the sequel a lot more than certain vitriolic fans but still, feel that with this and the PS5 Lost Legacy collection Naughty Dog, like Rockstar with GTAV, are milking past glories and should focus more on releasing fresh, new titles. Also it’s shockingly overpriced and really only gamers who have never played the original should fork out that amount of money for what is, ostensibly, a fancy paint job …
… but then again I was never the hugest fan of the franchise and whilst they were masterfully crafted, gorgeous looking games they were, narrative,y speaking, absolutely nothing new and possibly because of that I was just that bit underwhelmed by them.
But hey we all have opinions and mine, like most others, are pretty insignificant in the scheme of things!
Granted it’s more of the same and visually it’s far from next gen but if you’ve ever played a Sniper Elite game and enjoyed it you’re guaranteed a fun, if predictable, continuation of the franchise. Each level is sizeable with plenty to explore and discover and it’s great fun hunting down all the side missions and kill list targets. Whereas the hugely enjoyable Zombie Army franchise never fully clicked with the sniper mechanic and hordes of undead slightly fewer Nazis(until you raise the alarm) and more emphasis on stealth and planning leaves a sense of genuine pride when you successfully infiltrate a level and exfiltrate without having to resort to wanton sub machine gun action and hopeful Panzerfausts!
Yeah, there will always be detractors and whiny fanboys ready to rip it to shreds and claim it’s everything that is wrong with modern gaming, is hideously overpriced and is quite possibly the prime reason for the decline of civilisation but hey, that’s social media for you. Suffice to say I’m glad I bought it and I’m already on my third pkauthrough of the campaign in the hope I can mop up any collectibles and random Nazi testicles.
Oh, and should anyone wish to add me for some online survival, axis invasion or general multiplayer malarkey then you can find me at SAMTYLER1974 most probably getting repeatedly shot by far superior and probably far younger players. Youth of today, huh?
It all depends. If a new title can run efficiently and satisfactory on the PS4 then by all means release it but if it’s clear it can’t then skip it. Cyberpunk, to pick an all-too-easy example, should have always been a PS5 exclusive and trying to get it to run on last gen hardware was, in retrospect, a pretty dumb idea and one which ultimately hurt the games reputation. Yes, recent fare like Forbidden West can offer an acceptable experience in PS4 but it’s clearly far superior on PS5. I don’t think it’s time to totally abandon PS4 yet as there are still plenty of great indie titles coming out but I think that by the start of 2023 most games should solely be available for PS5 as more companies realise the limitations of last gen.
But hey, who really knows? I was lucky enough to get a PS5 on Day 1 and recently bought one for a friend as I’m just so damn kind but with limited stock still stranding fans in the land of last gen abandoning it right now is a potentially alienating decision that’ll no doubt cause plenty of heated arguments online and we don’t want any of that nonsense now, do we?
Horizon Forbidden West really had pretty much everything polished and perfected. Looked utterly sumptuous, gorgeous soundtrack, great side missions, fantastic combat … so I’d have to go with that despite it only being April.
As for letdowns it’s sad to admit but both Sifu and Ghostwire Tokyo felt severely lacking. Sifu was initially addictive but ultimately a bit empty, repetitive and more frustrating than fun and Ghostwire was repetitive to the point of boredom with flat, cut and paste combat, a dull narrative and way too many collectibles. Shame, as both were high on my most anticipated list.
Lego Star Wars is great fun and easily the best Lego game thus far but despite being an absolute joy to play it can’t hold a torch to Aloy’s adventures and is sadly let down by unnecessarily long load times even on PS5.
And biggest surprise would be Deep Rock Galactic. Still playing after over 200 hours, one of the few games worth cranking out the multiplayer for and it was free. Rock and, indeed, stone!
I gave up on Final Fantasy after they became stupidly convoluted with ridiculously exposition heavy storylines and equally naff characters with stupid names and equally stupid haircuts. In other words a long time ago. Even the FF7 remake bored me despite me loving the original release and playing it for hours back in the day. Yes, what I’m saying may be sacrilege but hey, it’s only one opinion so I wouldn’t worry about it …
Deathloop had some impressive haptics plus great use of the microphone and Metro Exodus was surprisingly well handled. When it’s good it really adds a lot to the game but I still think too few games are truly exploiting the potential ….
Quite enjoyed the books back in the day, the films ranged from adequate to pretty poor and the franchise has been milked way beyond its threshold with the Fantastic Beasts films and other such dross. Plus JK Rowling is, well, she’s JK Rowling which, as we all know, isn’t all good …
… so no, I can’t say I’m hyped but if it’s good as a game and not another pretty cash cow then I may be tempted some way down the line but I’m sure there’ll be way too much better stuff to distract me.
I’d have preferred a next-gen version of RDR2 (Hell, I may even have spent the time to get to 100% again) but despite still looking and playing like a last-last-gen game the chance to hang out with Franklin, Michael and Trevor is just too tempting at the introductory price. That way I can replay all my favourite missions, fall in love with Trevor again, meet all the memorable supporting characters and nab more trophies on the way towards the hugely entertaining finale. Having finished Forbidden West (Well, about 98%) and added that Platinum to my other 309 I’m currently jumping between AC Valhalla (Still fun but there’s way too much of it) and Fuser (Nearly at the Platinum) with Ghostwire and Tiny Tina forthcoming and literally hundreds of movies in my collection begging to be watched …
If Insomniac can give us an incredible new Ratchet and Clank game then Sucker Punch should revisit both Infamous and Sly Cooper and Naughty Dog could give us a new Jak and Daxter. Yes, they’ve all since moved into new projects but ND games are kinda getting too samey and predictable and Ghost of Tsushima, whilst excellent, wasn’t a great open world game with way too much filler content. Just look at Guerilla to see how to craft a fantastic new open world game …
But I digress. Fans still love the franchises and there’d definitely be a huge market for them. So, come on guys?
I’m always hesitant to hit something new with a straight 10 and claim it’s a masterpiece as some people are won’t to do so I score it a 9 having today grabbed the Platinum and clocked up over 80 hours. Granted it was clearly created from a lot of the DNA of the original but I was consistently surprised by how impressive the whole thing was. I played it on PS5 so it looked utterly sublime with such a richly crafted world that at least 5 of the aforementioned hours has been in photo mode! To play a game that not only looked this lush but was also an open world was never less than a delight. Even the side quests and various collectibles never felt like a chore as it all fed into, embellished and fleshed out both the main narrative and, more importantly, the world building, characters and different tribes. Where I was expecting a typical checklist of tall necks and cauldrons I was impressed by how each one had enough variety to avoid them becoming stale and repetitive. Whether it was an underwater cauldron or a hunt for a power cell, a sunken, inactive tall neck or a frantic battle to bring one to its knees the developers deserve much praise in how to avoid staleness setting in and keeping the discovery and traversal of the huge world full of awe, mystery and some great environmental puzzles and exploration.
As for the story it did kinda end on an anticlimax and it had rather too much hokey sci-fi exposition but I generally liked where the narrative led and it clearly sets up a third game which I’ll be sure to play and continue Aliy’s journey.
So in summary it’s a stunning game both visually and structurally full of top tier combat, an immersive world and hours of entertainment. My only wish thus far is the option to play Machine Strike online with friends and others …
I’ve played enough to know that for me it’s only a 6/10. It’s a good game, for sure, but far from a great game and definitely not a masterpiece. Graphically it’s average …. the style and visuals are eye catching and the takedown animations are fun but the running, especially, feels a bit off and isn’t helped by the camera which is frequently jarring. The alternate routes are fun to locate and it’s great to locate a new one which then allows for a quicker and more achievable run.
But the levels feel shockingly empty at times and don’t offer enough exploration and I’d have liked more environmental interaction. Throwing endless bottles and picking up the same melee weapons eventually becomes a bit repetitive and that’s before the janky blocking. Yes, I know many will berate me for not gitting gud but I’m this case it just too often feels random and both the timing and dodging, mixed with that camera, makes fighting large groups of villains tougher than it should be and you leap over a table and suddenly lose sight of the enemy.
It’s certainly not a terrible game and is fun to a point but the constant replay factor mixed with the occasionally drab, empty levels have more often than not left me abandoning the game in favour of something else.
Overall it’s a divisive game that the review scores seem to agree with. Some people will love it whilst others won’t but for me it’s a potentially amazing beat em up hampered by way too many jiggles and design flaws …
I managed to nab a PS5 from Game plus Forbidden West which was lucky. I’ve already got a PS5 plus the game but I wanted to buy it for my best friend because I’m that kinda person! Loving the game thus far despite spending most of my initial 10 hours stocking up on way too many resources and killing more pigs and foxes than machines ….
Still no access to my 48 hour early access. I can wait as I’ve plenty else to do but I’ll expect some sort of refund somewhere down the line. Why should we pay more if we don’t get what we pay for? Si F U
A spot of Uncharted Legacy Collection, a bit of freestyling on Fuser and Deep Rock Galactic. If anyone wants to add me to make up some helpful, solid teams then just use the SAMTYLER1974 tag and I’ll happily rock and stone to the bone!
Quite enjoyed Bloodborne but Sekiro was awful. Boring world design, too repetitive and hideously overrated. And no, 8m not trying to be controversial I’m just being honest. I know people loved it but I thought it was pretty garbage. So no, Elden Ring isn’t on my radar at all. Just in case you wanted to know ….
Joining the alleged 10 million players on Deep Rock Galactic though primarily Solo Missions at this point until I’m not quite so inept. Wasn’t sure about it at first but it’s really growing on me as I’m unlocking and learning more. Got Persona Strikers too which I’ll play when I’m in the mood as I loved P5 and look forward to hanging out with the Phantom Thieves again.
Other than that it’s the usual freestyle Fuser sessions and the hope that more tracks will be added in the future whilst I await Sifu and Horizon next month!
Taking it easy and bathing in the glory and worship of my acolytes after nabbing my 300th Platinum. Just run out of grapes but my particularly nubile young virgin disciple has kindly popped to Tesco to pick some more up and enquire about the availability of thermal togas …
For all the hate and vitriol thrown at CDPR and Rockstar of late (and no, I’m not here to defend them so let’s not start bickering, eh?) it seems Naughty Dog are taking their name rather literally this Xmas. No, they’re not yet chasing postmen or ***** on the carpet but they are milking the Uncharted cow a little. That we never got a “proper” PS5 version of TLoU2 (and no, I don’t want any Abby waffle either) was surprising given the proliferation of ungraded last gen titles but to then announce this Legacy collection which, whilst nice, is still somewhat underwhelming given their age and, let’s be honest, dated quality just smacks of, let’s say, Insomniac suddenly adding new Spidey suits and trying to rebrand two old games … wait, there’s a new Spidey film coming out? Well that’s more shocking than Electro’s testicles!
But I digress and know I’m being cynical, fickle and sarcastic but we’re already into Year 2 of PS5 and though I know some people still haven’t got one I, for one, would like more new games than just a rebranded 60fps version ….
The story was utter garbage anyway and the game got old and stale quicker than that guy at the end of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. Plus even on PS5 I experienced horrendous frame rates, frequent freezing and an all round ennui with the whole gargantuan grindathon. Yeah, it looked shiny but it’s not a game I’ll return to. Not quite Godawful but pretty close …
Nearing the end of Sherlock Chapter One which has been great fun despite its flaws. The open world, whilst visually alluring, is rather empty and has led to rather too much random wandering, the combat isn’t bad but it’s also rather pointless and the cloned inhabitants of Córdona show the games limitations but the writing is solid, the cases erratic but fun and it’s a huge improvement over the decidedly tepid Devil’s Daughter.
Other than that I’m enjoying the double surprise gems that are Epic Chef and The Wild at Heart both of which are delightfully charming and a nice change of pace after Platinuming Returnal, Deathloop, Kena and Guardians.
Nothing overly enticing on the horizon so it’ll probably be a huge movie bonanza over Christmas with some great boutique label releases incoming
Another apology by a game development company? It’s over a year since I bought Cyberpunk 2077 and I’m still putting off playing it until the PS5 version. Hopefully things won’t take quite as long this time. Never mind though. As they say there’s plenty more games on the store, eh?
Been tempted to replay this as I loved it the first time through but I’ve already got the Platinum so a new trophy list would have been nice. Still may give it a revisit though as I’ve completed all the recent releases and need something new to play.
Oh, and the Platinum is easy for anyone who thinks otherwise so give it a go. It really is an utterly charming, beautifully crafted little gem
Honestly there are way more important things in life than gamers “cheating” systems in order to complete games or nab trophies so I don’t care either way. If you buy a game you’re surely entitled to do exactly what you want if it means you’ll ultimately get the most out of it. As someone who put in 215 hours of solid, satisfying gameplay to “legitimately” gain the Platinum I’m happy with myself for the achievement and the thrilling experience of progression in the face of seemingly overwhelming odds but if someone wants to exploit the new feature and finally finish the game then I’m not one to criticise and just think it’s sad that we live in a society that’s so quick to judge and damn others.
If it ‘offends” you then go ahead and do things your own way, enjoy gaming and be true to yourself but let’s not descend into playground insults and unnecessary online hatred just because some people happen to want to do something different, eh?
Finished Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday and got the Platinum and though I loved a lot about the game it was also oddly forgettable and I felt my mind wandering more as I neared the end. Superb soundtrack though despite the same tunes frequently kicking in during fights and not playing long enough. Plus the linearity of the levels would have been better with more emphasis on puzzles and exploration …
… so with very little to play for now I’m having a wonderfully relaxed journey with the delightful Roki and watching loads of movies for Halloween. Highly recommend anyone reading to watch Ben Wheatley’s “In The Earth”, a superb film with excellent performances, direction and soundtrack. Easily my favourite film of the year though most modern stuff is ***** anyway!
Returnal was my personal GoTY simply because it taught me a new perspective of patience and progression in gaming as having struggled halfway through the game I lost all progress and deleted the game only to reinstall it a week later and tentatively battle my way through and beyond my past progress, complete the game and get the Platinum after 215 hours of utterly joyful mayhem. Yes the repetition isn’t for everyone especially before the recent update and the suspend cycle feature but the sense of progression as you finally reached the next rung on the ladder towards victory is unrivalled in anything else I’ve played all year. Add a superb use of sound and haptic feedback that only added to the immersion and overall experience and, despite the naysayers, it’s easily the most enjoyable, memorable and satisfying gaming experience of 2021 even including those endless hours spent in the Crimson Wastes praying the final glyphs would finally spawn. So yes, that random generator feature could certainly be patched and improved but in every other way Housemarque delivered the goods and won my unalloyed praise …
… were I I to choose another game that really impressed me I’d probably say Chicory for its indie retro simplistic charm and Psychonauts 2 for its sheer creativity, humour and story.
Hmmm, certainly. looks intriguing but what’s with the music? Sound like Stand By Me by Oasis with the notes in the wrong order! Again, though, intriguing …
Another lacklustre, lazy and highly forgettable selection of games with Mortal Kombat being a good game back when it was released but why not even the XL version let alone MK11 which has been out long enough now to be milked for multiple releases and increasingly random DLC packs. Can’t imagine I’ll play any of these and hope Sony can deliver a decent package sooner rather than later …
Really enjoyed the game and Platinumed it a few days ago. Some of the Rot were tough to find and a few combat related trophies took practice but I think I came in just under 25 hours in the end. Really fun, enjoyable game that never outstays its welcome and, in some ways, left me wanting maybe one more area after the final mask seemed a little short imparted to the other two. Superb effort for a debut game and a company to keep an eye on in the future …
Yes, I used the exploit as I hadn’t actually read anything online and happened to try and succeed in getting it myself. So it’s still kinda cheating but seeing as I figured it out myself allows for some leniency in my books. Nonetheless I really loved my time with the game and would recommend it heartily. If I had any issues it was that it felt like a game that could have maybe benefitted from being a tad longer. But having ultimately abandoned the AC Valhalla DLC due to utter fatigue and a growing boredom with the cut and paste environment chock full of the same handful of tasks (A major criticism, I should add, that greatly affected my opinion of Ghost of Tsushima with its seemingly endless parade of foxes!) it was refreshing to play a game that didn’t drag on needlessly. As for the game itself I was most impressed with the combat which was really solid and far better than I’d imagined. Just finishing off the collectibles now for the Platinum though I thought some of the combat trophies were a bit tricky to get and are potentially missable as no new enemies spawn post game …
Just started it this morning and getting plenty of Laika vibes (especially the hugely underrated Boxtrolls- go watch it, okay?) but the one thing that irks me … I CAN’T TURN OFF THE SUBTITLES!! Yeah, it’s a triviality to some but I want to be taken in by the lush visuals plus my hearing is perfect anyhow so what with the narrator mumbling away it’s really annoying me. Same was true about Bugsnax and that was patched so hopefully I’ll get the option soon.

From what I’ve seen and heard I can’t see myself picking it up until it’s under £10-15 and I might even skip it altogether. Re: Sony Adjusts Default PS Store Sorting Amid Shovelware Backlash
Like the majority of comments I agree that this is both good and bad insofar as we may be free from endless jumping food and lettered animals but unless a game sells well like, say, the recent Stray it’ll still be lost amidst all the lazy trash.

I wouldn’t even pay $45 for Overwatch 2 …
Re: Mini Review: What Remains of Edith Finch (PS5) – Still Immaculate All These Years Later
Re: Sony Discontinuing PS5 Accolades As No One Used Them

Re: No Free PS4 to PS5 Upgrade Path for Persona 5 Royal
I’ve already completed the game twice. Once with the original edition and then again with the Royal. Yes, it’s a superb game but the PS5 upgrade doesn’t sound like it’ll be a huge difference so I’ll be skipping it. Definitely worth buying if you’ve never played it but if I’ve got to pay then I won’t play!
Re: The Witcher 3 Livestream Set for This Week
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 435

Re: Rumour: Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5 Version Also Ditched for GTA 6
Re: The Last of Us PS5 Remake Is Meticulously Built and Crafted, Not a Cash Grab
Drop the price and include a free upgrade for Part 2 on PS5 and I might be more interested but otherwise I can’t but think Naughty Dog need to move on and stop milking past glories …

Re: Psychonauts 2 Physical Release Confirmed for 27th September
Absolutely adored this game from beginning to end though a PS5 version would have been even better. But that price? How long before every new game costs almost £100? And of course the special limited custom made individually crafted and numbered edition that requires you to sell your home if you want to preorder it and get 1 hour early access!
Re: Biomutant PS5 Version Confirmed for 6th September
Flawed but horribly underrated. Really enjoyed my time with it and I’ll definitely replay it again for another Platinum. 4/10? Utterly ridiculous but I guess everyone has different opinions. Feel free to disagree but it was at least a 6 for me and quite possibly a 7. I’ll get back to you when I replay it if I remember and you treat me nicely 🤔
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 433
Re: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for July 2022 Announced
Re: Return to Monkey Island with a New Look, But Not on PS5, PS4 Just Yet
Huh, Switch fans play like dairy farmers …
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 430
Re: Poll: Will You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Sniper Elite 5?
A solid 8
Re: Video: Is It Time to Leave Last-Gen Behind?
Re: Poll: What's Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year So Far?
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man, Returnal Coming to PS Plus Extra, Premium
Hmmm, well they’re certainly solid enough titles but I’ve completed and Platinumed all of them so I’ll be wanting a lot more, please …
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin?
I gave up on Final Fantasy after they became stupidly convoluted with ridiculously exposition heavy storylines and equally naff characters with stupid names and equally stupid haircuts. In other words a long time ago. Even the FF7 remake bored me despite me loving the original release and playing it for hours back in the day. Yes, what I’m saying may be sacrilege but hey, it’s only one opinion so I wouldn’t worry about it …
Re: Feature: Best Uses of PS5 DualSense Controller So Far
Deathloop had some impressive haptics plus great use of the microphone and Metro Exodus was surprisingly well handled. When it’s good it really adds a lot to the game but I still think too few games are truly exploiting the potential ….
Re: Ten Second Hogwarts Legacy PS5, PS4 Taste Has Us Hyped
Quite enjoyed the books back in the day, the films ranged from adequate to pretty poor and the franchise has been milked way beyond its threshold with the Fantastic Beasts films and other such dross. Plus JK Rowling is, well, she’s JK Rowling which, as we all know, isn’t all good …
… so no, I can’t say I’m hyped but if it’s good as a game and not another pretty cash cow then I may be tempted some way down the line but I’m sure there’ll be way too much better stuff to distract me.
Re: Hands On: Is GTA 5 PS5 Worth It?
… which is nice!
Re: Shaky Sly Cooper PS5 Rumours Intensify, with PixelOpus Attached
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Horizon Forbidden West?
Re: Special Gift to Be Given to Sifu Deluxe Edition Owners on PS5, PS4
Definitely Noel Edmonds …
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Sifu?
Re: PlayStation Studios Celebrate Horizon Forbidden West Launch with Cool Crossover Art
Re: Sifu (PS5) - Kung Fu Brawler Is Brutal But Brilliant

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 411
A spot of Uncharted Legacy Collection, a bit of freestyling on Fuser and Deep Rock Galactic. If anyone wants to add me to make up some helpful, solid teams then just use the SAMTYLER1974 tag and I’ll happily rock and stone to the bone!
Re: Sifu PS5, PS4 Trophy List Shows You'll Have to Fight for the Platinum
Love all the references to classic martial arts movies. Come Snap With Me and Iron Money are probably my faves!
Re: It's Happening! Anticipated PS5, PS4 Action RPG Elden Ring Goes Gold
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 409

Re: Sony Removes Standalone Versions of Uncharted 4, Lost Legacy on PS4
Re: Godfall's PS Plus Version Is All Endgame Content, No Story Campaign
The story was utter garbage anyway and the game got old and stale quicker than that guy at the end of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. Plus even on PS5 I experienced horrendous frame rates, frequent freezing and an all round ennui with the whole gargantuan grindathon. Yeah, it looked shiny but it’s not a game I’ll return to. Not quite Godawful but pretty close …
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 403
Re: Rockstar Apologises for the State of GTA Trilogy on PS5, PS4
Another apology by a game development company? It’s over a year since I bought Cyberpunk 2077 and I’m still putting off playing it until the PS5 version. Hopefully things won’t take quite as long this time. Never mind though. As they say there’s plenty more games on the store, eh?
Re: Psychonauts 2 Treated to a PS5 Patch
Been tempted to replay this as I loved it the first time through but I’ve already got the Platinum so a new trophy list would have been nice. Still may give it a revisit though as I’ve completed all the recent releases and need something new to play.
Oh, and the Platinum is easy for anyone who thinks otherwise so give it a go. It really is an utterly charming, beautifully crafted little gem
Re: You Can Save Scum Using Returnal's New Suspend Cycle Feature on PS5
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 400
Re: PS5's Returnal Wins Its First Game of the Year Award

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for October 2021?
Another lacklustre, lazy and highly forgettable selection of games with Mortal Kombat being a good game back when it was released but why not even the XL version let alone MK11 which has been out long enough now to be milked for multiple releases and increasingly random DLC packs. Can’t imagine I’ll play any of these and hope Sony can deliver a decent package sooner rather than later …
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Kena: Bridge of Spirits?
Really enjoyed the game and Platinumed it a few days ago. Some of the Rot were tough to find and a few combat related trophies took practice but I think I came in just under 25 hours in the end. Really fun, enjoyable game that never outstays its welcome and, in some ways, left me wanting maybe one more area after the final mask seemed a little short imparted to the other two. Superb effort for a debut game and a company to keep an eye on in the future …
Re: Kena: Bridge of Spirits Exploit Lets You Skip Second Playthrough to Get Tough Trophy
Re: Lost in Random (PS5) - Quirky Card-Based Adventure Set in a Dark and Gothic World
Just started it this morning and getting plenty of Laika vibes (especially the hugely underrated Boxtrolls- go watch it, okay?) but the one thing that irks me … I CAN’T TURN OFF THE SUBTITLES!!
Yeah, it’s a triviality to some but I want to be taken in by the lush visuals plus my hearing is perfect anyhow so what with the narrator mumbling away it’s really annoying me. Same was true about Bugsnax and that was patched so hopefully I’ll get the option soon.
