Online gaming is at an all time high and with so many that come out, if it's not good out of the gate, people just move on. Why wait when there are other games to play?
I really enjoy the gameplaya lot in this new one it's smooth if a bit campy with some maps/players.
Games on PS5 will indeed become just as big and this is just the future coming to us. Might as well call your ISP for more bandwidth upgrade and a 5tb external HDD
Glad that Japan is even still buying home consoles. They make some of the most fun games to play each year from my personal taste and if they were to just make most of their games on phone/handheld game devices would be depressing.
Their lifestyle vs western lifestyle is much different and they take handhelds very serious. I prefer to be at home.
More people own a PS4 than the other systems so the average score will be lower of course. When a gen ends I like to try those games that were critically panned to see if I would actually like them. Sometimes hype can hurt games too.
No video games ever created have 100% customer played ratio. There will always be new people introduced into a franchise. I don't personally care much for PS+ games as I have more than enough retail games to enjoy on PS4, but I'm glad they are there to bring new people into a game series.
Besides Uncharted has ended already so it was time to have all of them to all that want it on PS4.
For these online focused games, games with battle passes/lootboxes can be done right if the publisher actually cares enough. Like the article says it does help the devs cover for new content so some consumers I guess make the sacrifice to buy them and everyone else reaps the benefits. The recent one for me is MW2019 and it's always adding new maps/modes for free. Didn't pay a single penny outside of the $60 for the digital copy.
I like this new way though it's not perfect. Good enough to where I can just play some games here and there weekly when I wanna play some shootin and then go back to immersive single player games.
This is the type of deals that will keep people buying games long after the lifecycle of a console is over.
1.Intices the userbase to try out new games because they are cheap on PSN which will broaden their taste 2.Keep said userbase entertained and loyal on said console brand 3.Push sales of digital distribution even more
I personally prefer physical when I can but sometimes that deals are so good on PSN for games I never bought/played yet.
Not liking the sound of this. PS1 was the start of a universal arrangement of companies at the time to all come into agreements. It was one of Sony's philosophies to a good console at the time. This isn't like the Sony I know.
A mediocre online focused third person shooter that somehow got massively popular.
Not gonna deny it's popularity and money revenue, but it's not a really engaging game in it's genre. Kids love it I guess but even when it dies, I will simply be playing other games and have long forgotten about it. Minecraft as well.
These types of sales are what should be the standard for digital games on PSN. It will bring more people to try things out. I still prefer physical but buy a digital game once in a while.
Honestly to those that do not care about owning physical copies of PS3/PS4 games, PS Now is amazing. Tried it years ago on PS3 when it was new and young. Had little to no issues.
So yes if you don't care about physical/digital copies give this service a try. You will never run out of games to enjoy.
Glad I never have to pay for map packs on this CoD. one of the reasons why I stopped playing years ago along with the gameplay getting stale. Only bought the game and no MTX at all. I like this new way of giving FPS MP content.
People that still prefer consoles are always gonna get the console versions like myself. PC doesn't really exist in our minds for playtime. We simply don't care. I will get every 9th gen game on PS5.
Played Demon's Souls way back in 2010 and fell in love. Dark Souls made me fall in love all over again. Been a fan since. Demon's Souls/Dark souls came out at a time in 7th gen of gaming where there were a lot of games trying to be more cinematic/serious to be I guess taken more serious? People were used to their hand being held after a couple of years. I'd say about the years of 2006-2010.
Dark souls took that hand away for the better. Made people realize that learning on your own isn't always so bad.
@Akurusu Because the PS3 was super expensive did you forget already? The PS brand in 2005 was massive. People needed a new gen console to play so it came out first. People were still gonna get a PS3 if it wasn't for that price. That will never happen again and Sony felt the sting for years.
Have a smooth launch with a reasonable price and you will win.
These fighting game publishers sure now how to spit out DLC characters before the game is even out lmao. How about just putting a bit more characters in the game before launch but wait that would help the customers we can't have that.
@thefirst I was gonna get a PS5 anyway because I know it will have JRPGs/Anime games/nice shooters/action games now I know it will be superior to the next Xbox.
CoD will always top the charts on PSN until it stops getting made. the MP is a fun and casual but somewhat deep customization. A nice game to play inbetween some SP games at least that's how I apply MP games.
I just beat RDR1 for the first time since it came out 9 years ago and it was a masterpiece. Perfect length and was the most immersive western themed game ever at the time at least. The hype for it was indeed justified.
I will play RDR2 sometime next year so I can take the first one in mentally and enjoy the 2nd. Don't wanna burn out.

Tried PSnow years ago on PS4 when I first got a subscription. Was damn good even back then. Not perfect but more than playable.
I prefer physical but if some of you don't care about that, PSnow is the way go to aside from just straight buying a digital copy.
