@wiiware tlou 1 20m sales were after a whole bunch of years. 20m was reached last year for the 1st game. Ghost and Tlou 2 are also going to get bought more when those ps5 upgrades appear. If there's a bundle with factions 2, even more.

Whatever narrative you want to build, game is doing more than well in all areas. All of them. It's my top 5 game of the year, so I'm not a fanboy to it, but people are just a bunch of tryhards tying to make tlou 2 look bad. It's kind of sad how many try to be negative about something.

I need to take a break from social media. I barely have any tolerance when people like you just want to be negative about things.

@GKO900 switch has more games than animal crossing. People just don't buy consoles for the games coming in that year only. Animal Crossing was just one more game to the big list nintendo has and honestly, it's probably bigger than sony's.

2. So a lot of people who didn't play the game and have envy carried from tlou being goat to tlou2? Neil going gold video had 100k dislikes before anybody beating the game.
3. Same thing happened with gow, u4, horizon, etc... They don't mention anything until some milestone is reached (guessing is 10m).

Now. I bet you were one of the ones that disliked the videos? Would like to see your psn id to confirm you beat it. You know what you are doing and it's sad how you justify your points.

@mariomaster96 cyberpunk is a Ludicolo and Doom Eternal is a crobat and somehow Ludicolo is winning.

Better to make the goty makers make games faster than buy not good enough studios. Both approaches can be effective anyways.

They should buy BluePoint and we'll see if Returnal lives up to the $70.

Sony Japan just got astrobot and co developed demon souls. I think they are being treated better than media molecule. Sony Bend also needs to grow. They also made a second studio within San Diego and it seems ssm and guerrila (siege rumor) have second studios.

@UltimateOtaku91 Yup. Triple A party games probably don't like gamepass because a lot of people will just wait and not buy the game. Gives an advantage to ps users on top of best selling console.

Idk if you see my point. What type of single player games reach 20m sales? It ain't the souls games. Look at how much the first tlou sold vs any resident evil. Having a very story focused game with cutscenes sells... A lot more . even if the non story based game is a better game.

@nessisonett Since demon souls doesn't have a story with cinematic cutscenes, intense emotional dialogue... Less people buy it.

Games with significant lower score get nominated over it because it has that type of story.

Story is way too overvalued in games these days. I have heard people say, that some games are only bought because of the story and if it's bad, it should be a 5.

What? Since when story is more important than gameplay? Or half of the game's score?

There isn't even an award for best gameplay (fun factor).

It seems the best selling single player games are cinematic story telling games and anyone who slightly deviates from that, will sell less by default.

I didn't see DOOM Eternal in any NPD. You can't just make a story without attracting gameplay either or it won't sell (Death Stranding).

We also endorce it. We call these sony/rockstar template games goty the moment they are announced. Ghost had an 83 metacritic score and a whole bunch of games had scores higher. Same thing with death stranding, control. Low scores to be a nominated game but how did they end up there? The template.

@nessisonett Grinding is not something a casual gamer wants to do though.
I wouldn't want to see an easy mode, but having an ego for beating a hard game is pretty dumb. Already platinumed sekiro,bb and ds3 (in the future ds1 and 2). Do I need to prove it more? It just seems a lot of people that defend want bragging rights.

Maybe the easy mode doesn't give you achievments or trophies?

This is for the future. Maybe not. Depends on future game's budgets. Like maybe they wouldn't add that much to it since it's not going to sell thaaat much.

Not seeing demon souls makes me wonder. Sooner or later they will have to make an easy mode if they keep increasing budgets. Most people can't beat it so why would they bother?

Sekiro sold 5m, but this is a an exclusive game. Makes me wonder if it's sustainable making a bloodborne 2 or demon souls 2 since it will require more time and money.

Shame. Probably the best next-gen game so far.

Know what? If gow 2 and hf2 look like re8, they should be $60. Especially when they are cross gen. I don't think moving graphics sliders justifies $10 increase.
