The Last of Us 2 PS4 PlayStation 4 1

While the theatre of The Game Awards makes for entertaining viewing, it’s the DICE Awards that are widely considered the industry’s prestigious red-carpet event. And fresh from sweeping Geoff Keighley’s showcase late last year, Sony published games dominate the list of nominees for The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences event.

The Last of Us: Part II, now the most awarded game in history, is the front-runner with 11 nominations, but Ghost of Tsushima is not far behind with ten – including a nod for Online Game of the Year, which is an impressive achievement considering Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was patched in post-release and clearly wasn’t the full focus of the project.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also nominated five times, while there’s recognition for Dreams, Astro’s Playroom, and MLB The Show 20 as well. Game of the Year will be fought by Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, and The Last of Us Part II. The winners will be determined by a panel of video game professionals, which you can see through here.
