@LiamCroft Honestly, tlou remastered is the best game in there. All of those games learn from that particular game, but I didn't pick it because for me it's a ps3 exclusive.

Damn. Ghost really that high? Surprised even with an 83 metacritic, manages to be above u4 and spidey. To me is a better assassin creed with bad ai and a good but not specacular story, open world repetitive checklist but damn.

@GREGORIAN I almost never used melee. I don't get why people say melee had to be better. You're not supposed to fight giant machines with the staff. It's like complaning about resident evil knife. The human combat was ok, but it wasn't the focus although it could be better. The game is not perfect. The 9 games I gave 10/10, none of them are. They are just the best things I played

@Arugula The way the robots were made for reasons other than war but secretly for war bit them in the dust. The game also explains an ai, and how it establishes and ecology of those machines and how each one is needed. The ai also has smaller ai with roles. Technology, Ecology and some Politics are the focus of that story. I think it's one of the best stories this gen.

@Bentley-Ma- I would like a poll where they put all of sony's game throughout the generations. People should take consideration the generation the came out from

@Rash I haven't play Days Gone. Explain why it's good. It just looks to me a running around like call of duty zombies mode type of game. Saw some animations and cutscenes and looked meh to me.
Also, a lot of people told at the start of it it's very tedious because of scarcity, and I had a problem with that with dying light

@Ralizah I think the main story is better. The only thing I liked about the side missions were the new creatures. I think that's what made them interesting. Can't say the same about red dead.

Either way, no game has ever done side missions better than the main story. At least the ones I played.

@wiiware As a secondary console I get you, but if it's your primary console and you buy third party games, third party is looking much better in 2021 vs 2014 as an example.

You know what. I have a 15 game list but I am honestly not that hyped for half of them. A lot of them are if they are good, I will get them. Ratchet, gt7, outriders, Kena, harry potter, death loop and dying light 2

@Col_McCafferty I took no offence. They are video games, but saying games win for politics is quite absurd. I told you why it won, you said it's opinion and I specifically explained why it won because of gameplay and you can't, still explain what rdr2 does so much better in terms of gameplay. The other readers say you brought this up multiple times.

@Akurusu you just made like 5 replies about hating Sony on a Sony website. Go cry somewhere else. I didn't say they were gods, but they won 4 out of 7 in terms of most awards, and that has nothing to do with what I think. DS is a Sony game, they funded Kojima's devs and the game AND they gave him the decima engine. It's clearly a Sony game and it would have that ps studio logo for sure.

Clearly metacritic does not reflect who gets more awards so who cares? IDK what better games you played to say they are average or all the same, which all of them have different types of gameplay. God of war is nothing like Horizon. Just because they are third person story based does not mean they are the same. Bring better arguments than fanboys use everytime.

@dark_knightmare2 to be fair. As we've seen cdpr fall from grace, only rockstar and zelda can compete vs sony. It's why people push sooo hard for rdr2 and c2077 to win goty. Don't want to see sony win again.

4 out of 7 wins, although I disagree with 2019 one big time. Although it won by 1 award, and mostly voted by users.

I hope others devs level up. I think capcom is turning into capgod and hopefully square replicate ff7 remake quality. Those new and old bioshock devs studio and the callisto protocol studio look promising. Fromsoftware and Platinum also have capability in beating sony easily.

I don't think ea, ubisoft, wb or activision care if they make award winning games.

@TheArt do they have PhDs or something that makes them better than me? I have played as many or more games than a lot of them, so I believe my word over theirs in a lot of cases. I am also disagreeing a bit. I gave rdr2 a 9, lol. Took 1 point solely because of the gameplay. Hell, should've been an 8.5 but that story was so good it had to stay there. Stop throwing a number and defend the game itself.

No, it wouldn't be ridiculous. It doesn't have to be rolling. Just because it's a 1899 doesn't excuse it from being creative in gameplay. Just like some folks say it shouldn't have action or good combat because it's an rpg.

@TheArt what you are talking here are their physical traits. No combat/gameplay whatsoever.

Can you use rope mechanics, is there verticality in maps in rdr2, can you go under things, hide in grass, have multiple weapons at once, use the environment to get a sneak on a HUMAN. Do humans look under the things for you, do they check corners? all human gameplay, which rdr2 doesn't manage to do.

Does rdr2 have multiple enemies that have different ai scripts like uncharted 4? do they all serve a purpose? nathan can roll, take cover more effeciently (arthur is a slowpoke).

Lets not even talk about the stealth mechanics snake has which makes all secenarios vastly different.

rdr2's gameplay is lacking, and it's overrated. Almost no game deserves 97 these days.

@BrainHacker Exactly. Arthur just auto aim shoot, take cover and shoot. Rarely you use melee combat. The enemies are EXACTLY the same and all behave the same, doesn't matter what weapons they have etc...
Hunting animals are more fun than the humans.
Gta 5 also has the same problem and imo tlou 1 has better combat, and tlou 1 imo isn't the best in gameplay neither.

RS games have to step it up in the combat department. Been using the same gameplay mechanics since gta 4.

@Col_McCafferty lol. they are. Wether you want to admit or not. I put rdr 2 above tlou 2, but no way in hell rdr2 does a better job at Arthur morgan as a combatant over Ellie and Abby and humans enemies over tlou 2 ones.
