This genre isn't normally my thing, but it is growing on me. About a 1/4 the way through. Getting mildly freaked out a lot so that's cool. Health and ammo economy is kind of perfect
I’ve never been a platinum chaser so I just finished playing GoT when I finished the main story arc. I was already maxed out on all skills and stances so it was time to stop
I really wanted to like this game, but just couldn't do it. I like a good Western movie, but the whole Western mythology is boring to me (figure that out!)
Finished Hogwarts Legacy (which I really enjoyed), and I've begun Death Stranding. A huge amount of cutscenes in the intro, so about to start the game for real
I might get to it. I never played the original back in the day.
I like remasters. I played the remaster of TLOU2 for the first time. It was terrific. I understand the arguments that they are money grabs etc, but yeah, of course they are. If I've never played them before then I get to play a more modern, hopefully optimised version of the experience
I've enjoyed Balatro but don't understand how you're meant to win. I've never made it to all of the blinds. I feel like I'm missing a core mechanic of the game or something.
I'll take a look at Boltgun. I'm all over the boomer-shooters (I'm an old *****)
@Aniscape Yeah, a big map can be brilliant if it is used to create a country/nation/actual place that people live. As opposed to a space to copy and paste bandit camps into
The Skill Up guys did a great preview video discussing Marathon. They were basically on the side of: Bungie really knows how to create the shooter/gun play mechanic, and it's fun, but it just doesn't have the hook/loop to make it work
Personally I'm just not a PvP guy, so it'll probably be a no for me
@AlexPorto I think it's just that the narrative structure of the game is very alien to a normal TV flow. i.e. massive focus change on character and tone half way through? Tricky for TV peeps to stick with that. In the game it's way easier to switch because you are playing those characters.
We shall see I guess, but I'm looking forward to it

First timer MGS player so I’m definitely interested in that

Hoping to finish Silent Hill 2. Then either Sword of the Sea and/or Lies of P
Re: Konami Wants to 'Consider Lots of Other Games' for Remake Treatment if MGS Delta Succeeds
@Porco It's meant to be pretty great though, even with the FPS issues. Jake Baldino was quite happy with it, and he's an MGS maniac
Re: Konami Wants to 'Consider Lots of Other Games' for Remake Treatment if MGS Delta Succeeds
@Jammer Basically yes for the tons of people who haven't played these classic games.
I've never played a Metal Gear game. I'd never played the Last of Us. I've never played FF7. So yeah, I'm a fan of remakes/masters
Oh yeah, and I'm currently playing Silent Hill 2 for the first time
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Is Finally Out on 4th September
@NovemberEmber you are getting married on my birthday. Good omen 😄
Re: These 11+ PS5, PS4, and PS Plus Games Are Coming Out Next Week (18th-24th August)
@Brundleflies21 you should watch the interview the FPS guys did with the Giant Squid designer. Very cool stuff

Re: Astoundingly Ambitious PS5 RPG Crimson Desert Looks Like It'll Ease the Wait for The Witcher 4
This kind of sword and sorcery stuff is pretty tiresome IMO.
Witcher was fine. Skyrim was great. etc etc, but this medieval setting is so played out now. Even Doom is in this space.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 594
Playing Silent Hill 2 for the first time.

Re: Take a Trip to the Dark Ages in PS Plus Premium Trial of New DOOM on PS5
Agree about the demos for everyone thing.
I'm waiting for a huge discount. Loved 2016, bounced off Eternal so I'm a little wary
Re: Ghost of Yotei Spotlights the Yari Spear in Latest PS5 Gameplay Clip
Loved GoT, so I'll probably get to this once it is discounts on my Wishlist
Re: Remedy Knuckling Down on Control 2, Max Payne Remakes
Never played MP so looking forward to the remake
Really hanging out for Control 2 though. Loved the first one. Brilliant setting, vibe, art style and combat engine
Re: 'We Won't Make You Do the Same Thing Over and Over': Ghost of Yotei PS5 Will Keep You Guessing
I’ve never been a platinum chaser so I just finished playing GoT when I finished the main story arc. I was already maxed out on all skills and stances so it was time to stop

Re: K-Pop Supergroup Aespa Gives Street Fighter 6 Whiplash in PS5, PS4 Crossover Event
@AdamNovice saw them earlier this year. Brilliant fun crew
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for July 2025?
Bounced off the DIV grind. Enjoyed and completed Jusant. Not a fighting game guy so not much for me this month
Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About The Last of Us Part 2, 5 Years Later?
I loved 1 and 2. Best game writing/story that I've ever experienced
Re: Red Dead Redemption 2's PS5 Version Could Be Announced Next Week
I really wanted to like this game, but just couldn't do it. I like a good Western movie, but the whole Western mythology is boring to me (figure that out!)
Everyone else have fun!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 584
Playing Indy Jones and having a ball. Just need to play it as though you are Indy and you can ignore the Bethesda-style gameplay
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 582
Finished Hogwarts Legacy (which I really enjoyed), and I've begun Death Stranding. A huge amount of cutscenes in the intro, so about to start the game for real
Re: Oblivion Remastered Sales Prove the Power of Nostalgia and Shadow Drops
I might get to it. I never played the original back in the day.

away from this
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 581
It feels like I might finish Hogwarts. Really enjoyed it. Boltgun or Death Stranding next? Maybe try some more Blue Prince
Re: Control 2's Budget Won't Be as Big as Alan Wake 2, But Remedy's Confident It'll Be Excellent
Loved Control. Really liked AW2
Really looking forward to this.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
OK, good to know you can make the dodging/parry a bit easier. I hate Souls-like, because I'm old and useless.
I keep bouncing off JRPG style though, so I'll wait for a sale I think
Re: Talking Point: What Should Ghost of Yotei's Biggest PS5 Improvements Be?
Greater combat complexity
Greater side quest complexity
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Oblivion Remastered?
OK, so I'm reading "wait for a sale" from these replies
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for May 2025?
@LordGlarc OK, that's what I thought. Maybe I just suck
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for May 2025?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 579
Hogwarts. It is a happy fun game which we need more of these days. Rather enjoying the whole thing
Re: GTA 6 Publisher Supports Rockstar in 2026 Delay, Commits to 'Excellence'
There is no way GTA will be able to match the hype about it now. It is getting ludicrous
Re: PS5 Pro Is No Longer the Most Expensive Console You Can Buy
@CielloArc China has already been sub-contracting to Vietnam already. i.e. this has been happening for years.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Major Updates Announced, Story Missions, New Game+, and More Coming Soon
Good to hear. I'm waiting on a sale, but I'll probably step into Shadows sooner than later
Re: The Outer Worlds 2 Looks to Destiny, Call of Duty for Big Combat Improvements
Too much shooter action will ruin any RP in the RPG part of this.
That being said, the original OW combat was janky AF IMO
Re: State of Play Set for Wednesday, 20 Minutes of Borderlands 4 Gameplay
Borderlands is boring. Tiny Tina was pretty fun, but fell into the same game loop and got boring as well.
Re: EA Confirms Heavy Layoffs, Titanfall Game Cancelled
I want a story based Titanfall. TF2 was awesome. Live service is killing so many IPs
Re: PS5 RPG Expedition 33 Has Some of the Highest User Ratings Ever
@Steeleye50 because of difficulty, or story?
I'll take a look at some time. BG3 turned me towards turned based combat, but FF has never worked for me, so I'm not convinced. I'll wait for a sale
Re: Ghost of Yotei Has the 'Biggest Map' and 'Greatest Freedom' of Any Sucker Punch Game
@Aniscape Yeah, a big map can be brilliant if it is used to create a country/nation/actual place that people live. As opposed to a space to copy and paste bandit camps into
Re: Ghost of Yotei Has the 'Biggest Map' and 'Greatest Freedom' of Any Sucker Punch Game
Loved GoT, but bigger isn't needed. Slightly less ACness (or Far Cryness) would be better.
I completed most of GoT because the story was great and the Ronins were great. Once I maxed out my combat setup though it got samey.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5?
Keen, but I'll wait for a sale. Way too many other things happening
Re: Opinion: Baldur's Gate 3 Was Already a 10/10, But Updates Have Made It an All-Time Masterpiece
BG3 has turned me towards turn based combat. I loved all my time with it.
I may go back one day, but my queue is already too long. That being said, I'm about to go back to Nier: Automata so it may happen
I understand why people don't dig BG3. Art is subjective
Re: The Outer Worlds 2 Wants to Be Much More of an RPG Than the First Game
I played a fair bit of the first game and then just ran out of steam/interest. Shame really, because it was fun till it wasn't
Re: PS5 Fans Give Bungie's Marathon the Cold Shoulder, 34% Say You'd Have to Pay Them to Play
The Skill Up guys did a great preview video discussing Marathon. They were basically on the side of: Bungie really knows how to create the shooter/gun play mechanic, and it's fun, but it just doesn't have the hook/loop to make it work

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Season 2 Episode 1 - Structure Changes Keep Things Fresh
@KundaliniRising333 I really liked her in the first season.
The issue is that Ellie the character is pretty unlikeable in TloU2. In game I mean

Re: Bungie's New PS5 Shooter Marathon Grabs September Release Date
PvP isn't for me so it's a no I guess. I generally like Bungie stuff, so it's a bit of a bummer
