Putting aside Fallout 4 for now and restarted Ghost of Tsushima. Now that my action game combat skills are way better, I’m really enjoying it. Now that I’ve upgraded my katana a few times, Jin is a bad ass
It's just there are more gaming options which require less of a time commitment, at least session by session.
The whole "people are getting stupider" is just "old man shakes fist at cloud" or "back in the day..." or "those young people!" You sound like an old *****, and I'm actively trying to avoid that attitude as I get older
We are bombarded by entertainment platforms that are designed to capture our time. Our time is currency
I bounced off the Tsushima combat, but now that I've finished GoW:R and Jedi:Survivor, I think it might be time to return now that my action combat skills are a little better. Beautiful game
Just loved HFW. I really didn't want to finish. I will probably go back to finish all of the sidequests/content at some point. Cyberpunk hasn't grabbed me as much, though I am digging Lego Star Wars.
Yes, because I never grew up with the old consoles, and now that I have a PS5 I would like to play the classics, but with more contemporary graphics and sound
@redcorpuscle yeah that was pretty much my experience. A good friend of mine loved it. One day I may go back to it, if I feel like a bit more of a point and click adventure
I don't get Disco E. I played for a fair bit, but just got bored. I felt I was playing against the game mechanic too much and not the experiencing the narrative
@General_Spiller In a gig-economy kind of way. i.e. people get abused by this, just like they are by Uber etc. This ***** will end any gaming utopia we think we have right now
@Logonogo It depends on the game design emphasis e.g. BotW is a realtime action game, but the emphasis is more on the open world exploration and puzzles. Combat is there and it is fun, but it is not the primary focus of the game IMO

Re: Video Game Leaking Culture Has Hit an Embarrassing New Low
online clout is a weird weird thing. I wonder if this wave will ever crash
Re: Rumour: Borderlands 4 Is 2K's Big SGF Announcement
I bounced off Borderlands (and Tiny Tina). The loot just becomes noise. The combat engine is fun, but then becomes samey and dull
Re: Halo 1 Remaster Being Considered for PS5, New Report Claims
I'm played out on Halo, but I'd love to see more XBox exclusives come to PS5
Re: PSVR2's PC Adapter Available on 7th August, Costs $60
Sorely tempted, even though I know there aren't enough good VR experiences across both platforms
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 531
In completionist mode for Ghost of Tsushima. I probably need to up the difficulty. I'm a little too over powered now
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 530

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Devs Felt 'Incredible Pressure' Starting Work on 'Very Ambitious' New RPG
@Jaz007 I loved the third act so this seems like a subjective concern

Re: Ghost of Tsushima PC Is Now PlayStation's Biggest Single Player Launch on Steam
I bounced off the Tsushima combat, but now that I've finished GoW:R and Jedi:Survivor, I think it might be time to return now that my action combat skills are a little better. Beautiful game
Re: Summer Game Fest Hosts New Game Reveal from One of 2K's 'Biggest and Most Beloved Franchises'
Bioshock would be good.
Re: Fallout 4 Continues Sales Momentum in the UK, April's Best-Selling Game
Replaying FO4 right now. It’s great. Tons of content. The RPG aspect is great. Combat is pretty good. Not GoW or Jedi Survivor good though
Re: Stellar Blade PS5 Fans Irate Over Alleged Censorship
This is ***** gamergate rubbish
One of the outfits is a bikini. It was done for style reasons
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Fallout 4's Next-Gen Version?
I'll take another go at it. I played the PS4 version for about 15 hours and moved on. My backlog is insane though...
Re: Another Day One PS Plus Extra Game Available to Download Now
Skill Up recommended ToK so I might take a look
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 524
Finally going to finish GoW:Rag, which I've really loved. Bought Star Wars: Survivor so that'll be next
Re: Video: Our Favourite PS5 Games of 2024 So Far
Still completing GoW:Rag, but trying to decide on my next. I think DD2 could be the one. I keep bouncing off FF for some reason
Re: Random: Lara Croft Tops Mario as the Most Iconic Video Game Character of All Time, Apparently
Where's Doom Guy?
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Is Completely Free to Play on PS5 This Weekend
I love CP77. I'm on my second run as a stealth ninja. Stuck on Oda though, so I need to persevere and try to get through that fight
Re: Video: One Year Later, Is PSVR2 Doing Enough?
If PC support happens then I’ll probably invest. The exclusivity is holding me back. On all platforms
Re: NieR, Dark Souls, and Anime Meet in New PS5 Game AI Limit
The visual style is pretty cool. Very different from Automata, which isn’t good. Just different
If it’s not too punishingly difficult I could be interested

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 510
@rusty82 I just finished Jusant today and loved it. Short, sweet and simple. Dontnod really knew what they wanted and made it.
Re: Poll: Which PS5 Games are You Buying in Early 2024's Ridiculous Release Schedule?
My backlog and Prince of Persia
Re: Game of the Year: #8 - Dead Space
@Mad001 what was woke about it? You play a white male engineer in a scifi space survival horror.
OT. It is a great game. Not normally my genre. Brilliant sound design. Very creepy
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 482
@enrickUranium I'm bummed out that I couldn't get into FF16. I only played the demo but found the combat engine to be boring as all hell
Going through my stack of shame right now with, Tchia, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Yakuza Inchi. Some PC stuff as well
Re: The Witcher 3 PS5 Version Releases 14th December, Details and Gameplay Coming Next Week
Can't wait. Been holding off, as I found the PS4 version pretty janky. Hopefully there are some tweaks to the combat engine, but I doubt it
Re: Assassin's Creed Origins 60FPS PS5 Patch Expected to Drop in June
Hell yeah, I've only just started this one
Re: Poll: What's Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year So Far?
Just loved HFW. I really didn't want to finish. I will probably go back to finish all of the sidequests/content at some point. Cyberpunk hasn't grabbed me as much, though I am digging Lego Star Wars.
Elden Ring is likely way too hard for me
Re: UK Sales Charts: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Sales Are Impressive, Most Impressive
I've started on TPM, but unfortunately it makes my wife sick when played split screen.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Reassures Fans That Expansions Are in the Works
@Americansamurai1
I agree with you to some extent. I am enjoying it, but its open world is really awkward compared to say, HFW.
The main story seems to push you to play through, so I think I need to break off that rail and try to look around Night City just for fun
Re: Poll: Do Remakes of Old Games Get You Excited?
Yes, because I never grew up with the old consoles, and now that I have a PS5 I would like to play the classics, but with more contemporary graphics and sound
Re: First Impressions: Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, PS4 Looks Like the Biggest and Best Yet
I really wish I could enjoy driving games, because GT7 looks amazing, but I'm just not a car guy sigh
Re: Poll: How Long Should Games Be?
20-30 for narrative stuff
40+ for true open world/universe (AC: Odyssey, BotW, NMS, Elite etc)
Re: PlayStation's Highest Rated Games of 2021 Have Been Revealed on Metacritic
@redcorpuscle yeah that was pretty much my experience. A good friend of mine loved it. One day I may go back to it, if I feel like a bit more of a point and click adventure

I don't get Disco E. I played for a fair bit, but just got bored. I felt I was playing against the game mechanic too much and not the experiencing the narrative
Re: All The Game Awards 2021 Winners
Yeah, a great list. Maybe I should take a look at Arise. The demo put me off though. I haven't really got into the action JRPGs yet
Re: New Horizon Forbidden West Trailer Features Gameplay and Costumes
Oh man, that looks great.
Was that a grappling hook?
Hopefully more open climbing like BotW
Love the energy glider thing
Can't wait for the story as well!
Re: Skyrim Special Edition Free PS5 Upgrade Out Now
My first run through was on the Switch, so it will be quite the bump-up on my PS5

Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Prices Revealed
@Artois it's milking new fans surely?
Re: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Prices Revealed
@Camlambelot except that the PS5 is the only gaming device I have, so it's not quite that simple
Re: Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS5) - A Gorgeous Adventure with an Old-School Approach
Skill Up gave it a great review. AUD$60 Reasonably priced here in Australia, considering the size
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 394
No Man's Sky. Hollow Knight
later this week Diablo II!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 393
@The_Omnius I played DOSII for quite a few hours. I really enjoyed it, but it was just too hard for me. Combat was just too long and painful.
I have finally figured out a few of the No Man's Sky game loops and really digging that at the moment
Re: Aloy Trends As Fans Discuss Horizon Forbidden West Hero
She looks older, which fits. I can't wait!

that is so cool.
I literally finished Horizon Zero Dawn yesterday and it is amazing
