Bummer. It would have been cool to try out. I like my PSVR2, but it is very specific in uses, so this would have been cool. TBH I use mine primarily as a 2nd screen while my wife is watching TV
@Cornpop76 really? You see she has big muscular arms. That’s basically it.
The implication is that what happened to her and her father lead her down this path of vengeance and needing skills and strength to achieve it. It’s a narrative hook.
“Look what happened to Abby as a consequence of Joel and Ellie”
I’m sorry this has somehow become important enough to ruin the reality of this science fiction story
I'm a complete PS convert. I don't miss the PC arms race, and I prefer my couch and TV setup. I have a reasonable gaming laptop, just in case, but I'm not using it that much TBH
Just playing through TLOU2 - Remastered for the first time right now and I'm really loving it. They have taken real narrative risks which I'm enjoying. The gameplay is just complex enough to keep it tight and interesting.
I assume they will use the same kind of gameplay loop in a new universe. I'm cool with that. Just so long they don't go the way of Assassin's Creed and lose their way like that franchise has
@Nye1779 I’m the same. Just trying to gold medal the licenses right now. Not doing so well. Love the VR experience though. Finally starting to “get” it
@blockfight yeah me too in the Black Friday sales. Call of the Mountain, No Mans Sky and GT7 are all looking very cool and completely different from flatscreen stuff.
It's a tricky balance. Naughty Dog stuff is massively on rails but really enjoyable story telling (same with GoW of course). Too much freedom and you're in the Ubisoft danger-zone
I completed the PS5 version of GoT last month for the first time. A truly brilliant game. Loved the art, story , combat and general vibe. Wonderful stuff

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows' 'Canon Mode' Makes Fans Ponder the Point of RPG Options
More choice is better. Completely on rails can be good (tLoU etc) but more RPG is almost always a good thing
Re: Ubisoft Revenue, Net Bookings Decline 31%
@JAMes-BroWWWn
Previews have not been kind to Shadow
It’ll probably end up being good but not good enough
I’m bummed about the SW: Outlaws reviews/success. It’s a lot of simple fun, and it really feels like Star Wars

Bummer. It would have been cool to try out. I like my PSVR2, but it is very specific in uses, so this would have been cool. TBH I use mine primarily as a 2nd screen while my wife is watching TV
Re: Some Fans Think This Smile Is Proof Avowed Is Coming to PS5
It appears the platform wars have turned into
PC vs PS
with Nintendo as an onlooking neutral power
Re: Poll: How Long Does It Take You to Beat a Big RPG?
RPGs with exciting real time combat engines will keep me going. I bounce off the turn based combat encounter based games.
BG3 is an outlier. I completed that in about 100 hours
Re: Cloudheim Is a PS5 Co-Op Action RPG with Some Serious Modern Zelda Vibes
My Zelda obsessed wife could be interested. She is itching for something like BotW/TotK

Re: Abby's Muscles Less Relevant to HBO's The Last of Us Adaption
@StonyKL totally. It’s a “chicks need to stay in their lane” thing. It tired and boring.
Abby’s a great character in the game. Her strength is a detail but not important. Her thirst for vengeance is the real story
Re: Abby's Muscles Less Relevant to HBO's The Last of Us Adaption
@Uromastryx the women characters won’t be the issue people have.
Re: Round Up: Civilization 7 Reviews Are Glowing Ahead of PS5 Launch
The Arstechnica review was good. Interesting changes to the age-structure. Diplomacy has been improved a lot.
A bit of release jank but not too bad.
I'll probably PC this one though. Civ on consoles is a hassle
Re: Former Rockstar Animator Doubtful GTA 6 Will Run at 60fps on PS5
I'm really surprised by the common belief that GTA6 will be the beat thing ever. We've all been burnt by this kind of hyping before.
That being said, it is better to be optimistic than a contrarian.
Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Is So Popular the Dev Can't Meet Collector's Edition Demand
Have fun everyone. Just can’t get on board JRPGs styles
Re: Preview: Assassin's Creed Shadows Is the Golden Ticket Ubisoft Needs
Loved Odyssey, but bounced off Origins. This is looking pretty good.
Ghost: Yotei is similar perhaps?
Re: Civilization 7 Goes Gold Ahead of Series' Simultaneous Launch Debut
I've always loved all the different versions of Civ. I'll probably wait for a sale, but I imagine I'll partake
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Still a 'Real' Game and 'Will Release'
I've found Hollow Knight too hard for my tastes. I know I should git gud etc, but I prefer gaming fun to endless frustration
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563
Just finished TLOU2 for the first time and loved it. I'm feeling sad about finishing a great game.
Now playing Dave the Diver and Disco Elysium to change things up
Re: Talking Point: Is PlayStation Right in Saying PC Isn't a 'Major Risk' to Console Business?
I'm a complete PS convert. I don't miss the PC arms race, and I prefer my couch and TV setup. I have a reasonable gaming laptop, just in case, but I'm not using it that much TBH
Re: Naughty Dog Sold to Sony to Avoid Being 'Crushed' By Cost of Game Dev
@Bionic-Spencer Agree with this.

Re: Helldivers 2's Creative Director's Latest Comments Have Landed Him in Hot Water
More character creation and cast flexibility in a game is almost always a good thing.
Re: Game of the Year: #1 - Astro Bot
My wife has almost fully completed this thing. She doesn't play much, so this is high praise
Re: Stellar Blade Dev Says It Hopes Everyone Is 'Living in Love' After Naughty Dog Artist's Interpretation of Eve Is Unfairly Criticised
This is all so tiresome
Whenever someone says words like woke and agenda, I know I can ignore them
Re: EA Shot Down Creators' Dead Space 4 Pitch in 2024
Loved the Dead Space remake, so I’m hoping to see more of this universe
Oh well
Re: Square Enix Insists Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Hasn't Been the PS5 Sales Disaster It's Been Painted As
As a recent PC to PS switcher I just don’t get JRPGs. I’ve tried but can not get it. What am I missing?
Re: Intergalactic PS5's Toxic Detractors Peddling Patently Fake 'Leaked' Story Details
Ugly comment section for this one
It was a teaser and it looked pretty cool. Naughty Dog make fun stuff
Re: Actress Tati Gabrielle Grateful to Work with 'Video Game God' Neil Druckmann on Intergalactic PS5
The trailer and character looked very cool. I like Naughty Dog stuff. Don’t care about Druckmann
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Path of Exile 2?
Loved the first one up to a point and then drifted off. I’ll definitely give it a go when it’s F2P
Also as a kiwi I like to support NZ devs when possible
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 558
@Nye1779 I’m the same. Just trying to gold medal the licenses right now. Not doing so well. Love the VR experience though. Finally starting to “get” it
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 558
Synth Riders, GT7 on my new VR2 and Prince of Persia on flat. Loving all of these games at the moment!
Re: Round Up: Indiana Jones Reviews Are Live, Mostly Very Strong
@MikeOrator yeah his before you buy was good
It’s Indy and fun. Not perfect but still fun
Re: PSVR2 Rhythm Game Synth Riders Adds Barbie Crossover, Featuring New Experience
I just bought and played Synth Riders for the first time. Loads of fun. No Barbie just yet, but who knows
Re: Sony Still Working on PSVR2, Full Hand Tracking Tech Is On the Way
@blockfight yeah me too in the Black Friday sales. Call of the Mountain, No Mans Sky and GT7 are all looking very cool and completely different from flatscreen stuff.
Re: Guerrilla's Next Horizon Game May Launch Sometime in 2025 on PS5
I want to play out the rest of the story. Hopefully they haven’t written themselves into a corner Westworld style
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554
Back to HZD which has been fun. Prefer it to HFW to be honest. Quite a bit simpler
Re: Sony Promises It'll Launch Major PS5 Single Player Games Every Year Moving Forwards
Good news. Live service/looter shooters are boring as hell
Re: Alan Wake 2 Trapped in Financial Dark Place, 'Most' Development, Marketing Costs Recouped
Enjoyed it enough but I’m now convinced that that survival horror is not for me. Bounced off RE4 remake. I’m more hoping for an excellent Control 2
Re: Next Mass Effect to Retain 'Mature Tone' and 'Photorealistic' Graphics
@LikelySatan yeah, Skill Up’s review sealed it as a no for me. I largely trust his reviews on tone, story and character.
Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard's Raunchy ESRB Description Needs to Relax
I hope this does well. I haven't played any in this series but people seem to like them a lot
Re: Throwback N64 Platformer Yooka-Replaylee Looks Dazzling in Upgraded PS5 Remake
Everything will now be compared to Astrobot, so I'm not sure about this one
Re: Naughty Dog's Next Game Will Reportedly Put More of a Focus on 'Player Freedom'
It's a tricky balance. Naughty Dog stuff is massively on rails but really enjoyable story telling (same with GoW of course). Too much freedom and you're in the Ubisoft danger-zone
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for October 2024?
Return to Monkey Island for me. Going back to a point and click will be a nice change up
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for October 2024?
Already played and loved Dead Space. Don't care about the other two. Luckily I'm in my first play through of TLoU1. I love this game very much
Re: PS5's Ghost of Yotei Triggers Social Media, Ex-Sony Exec Says 'If You Don't Like It, Don't Buy It'
Ignore the gamer gate and anti-SJW bs. It is click harvesting and nothing more
Looking forward to this. Loved GoT
Re: Atlus Sponsors Conveniently Named F1 Racer for Metaphor: ReFantazio Ad
Didn’t notice. Boring race. Well done Maclaren though
Re: GTA 6 Won't Be on Subs Like PS Plus at Launch Because Take-Two Makes 'Rational' Decisions
I honestly don’t understand the GTA thing. Is it just because the sandbox is so open? What is the hook of this thing?
Re: Check Out a Full 10 Minute Star Wars Outlaws Quest on PS5
Looks fun. I wonder about the depth of the combat engine
Re: BioWare Will 'Finally' Return to Its Roots with Dragon Age: The Veilguard's Storytelling
Here’s hoping
Re: May 2024 USA Sales: Sucker Punch Classic Ghost of Tsushima Jumps 70 Places to Top Charts
I completed the PS5 version of GoT last month for the first time. A truly brilliant game. Loved the art, story , combat and general vibe. Wonderful stuff
Re: Poll: Are You Playing The First Descendant?
I just don’t understand looter shooters. I don’t vibe with the game loop at all. It just seems really boring and pointless.
That being said, I have hundreds of hours of Elite Dangerous under my belt, so…
Re: Ambitious MMO Dune: Awakening's Sandstorms Will Weekly Level the Playing Field
I love Frank Herbert’s Dune universe so I am definitely interested. The hardcore survival aspect is a little daunting though
Re: Preview: Star Wars Outlaws on PS5 Has a World of Possibilities, But Is Let Down by a Rough Demo
@Uncharted_Horizon27
I'm in super completionist mode for Ghost of Tsushima right now, so there are good examples
