Ubisoft has spilled the beans on Assassin's Creed Shadows' post-launch support, providing a roadmap for upcoming content.

There's actually quite a lot to get through. First off, there are some pretty big updates in the works, which aim to bring more story-related stuff and fan-requested features to the release.

In early May, players are getting a fresh story mission starring Portuguese priest Luis Frois alongside a patch that promises an update to the game's codex and various quality of life improvements. More details on this particular update will be dropping soon.

Then, later in May, the title's getting its first 'Special Collaboration' — which we assume is some kind of crossover event. We don't have any details on this just yet, but we're half expecting something a bit crazy.

This same patch will add photo mode improvements and a meaty 'parkour update', which includes back and side ejects. That should make Naoe's scampering much smoother.

The second story addition arrives in June, together with new difficulty options, 'gameplay immersion' options, an 'open world alarm system', and the ability to toggle headgear on in cutscenes. Phew.

And then there's a whole load of stuff that's simply coming at some point down the line. There's mention of New Game+, updates based on community feedback, even more story content, more collaborations, new Animus additions, and more.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Roadmap

Meanwhile, the game's first expansion, Claws of Awaji, is mentioned in the roadmap but it hasn't been given a release window. Ubisoft confirms that the DLC will take place after Shadows' main campaign, and it'll feature a new weapon type for Naoe: the bo staff.

There's a lot to look forward to, then. It always felt like Ubisoft was going to go bit with support for Assassin's Creed Shadows, and this roadmap certainly fits the bill.
