Dragon Quest 12

It's the 13th May, 2025 — almost four whole years since Dragon Quest 12 was announced, and we're still yet to see anything but a logo from the project.

According to series creator Yuji Horii, though, the game is still in development — and it sounds like he's confident in what's going on behind the closed doors.

In a freshly published interview by Gamereactor, Horii apologises for not being able to say anything specific about the title. "I am making it, putting lots of work into it," he adds.

"I can only say that the next work will be great too, working really hard. Please look forward to it, is the only thing I can say."

We thought these quotes sounded familiar, and as it turns out, the veteran developer basically said the same thing when asked about Dragon Quest 12 earlier this year.

However, there's a slightly weightier context to Horii's new comments. As franchise fans may already know, Dragon Quest Day is fast approaching. The annual celebration takes place on the 27th May — and Horii's recent press tour could hint that there's something in the works.

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake is pretty much a lock for the event, but could Dragon Quest 12 finally make an appearance? Feel free to get your hopes up in the comments section below.
