Re: Guide: PS4 Pro vs PS4 - Which One Should You Buy?

NESguy94

I have a launch model PS4 and one of my close friends has the Pro and a 4K TV. If you have a nice 4K tv it does make a noticeable difference in some games. Also, if you have PSVR it is nice to have the pro. However, even after using a pro and going back to my vanilla model I didn’t feel the need to upgrade.

Re: Belgium Reckons Loot Boxes Are Gambling, Wants Them Banned in Europe

NESguy94

@get2sammyb my thoughts exactly. Disney can’t be happy right now. I hope EA doesn’t cancel other Star Wars games because of this; Star Wars 1313 needs to happen.

Unfortunately if they took the license from EA there wouldn’t be too many developers left who have worked on Star Wars games in the past.
Although, could you imagine a Naughty Dog Star Wars game?

Re: January's PlayStation Plus Games Have Been Revealed

NESguy94

It seems like Sony would be pushing hard right now to get people to subscribe as many people's subscriptions end in November- January (black Friday & Christmas). Now would be a good time to throw in a AAA title. Mine ends on the 5th and I won't be renewing my subscription.

Re: Review: Final Fantasy XV (PS4)

NESguy94

I think most people think it's excellent as well but I've heard complaints from everyone I know who's played it. Many of their complaints mirror the ones in this comment section so I think it's fair to say the game has its flaws.

Re: Review: Final Fantasy XV (PS4)

NESguy94

I'm still on the fence about buying this. There just seem to be a lot of small things that the developers glossed over. Every major feature (story, combat, exploration, etc) at contains one of those small issues so it feels that there no truely outstanding part of this game. I feel that they could have fixed most of the issues had they allowed more people to playtest it and if they would have pushed it back a few months.

Re: Poll: Does The Last Guardian Dazzle After a Decade?

NESguy94

I'm hoping to get it for Christmas so I only played a little at the store. I did have a little bit of an issue with the camera in a tight corridor when Trico was taking up too much of the screen, but it wasn't that bad as IGN and a few other "reviewers" are making it out to be. It's not the prettiest game I've ever seen but it's not last generation graphics. It has its shortcomings but it's a solid 9/10

Re: Round Up: The Last Guardian PS4 Reviews Embrace the Strange

NESguy94

@Frank90 I totally agree about IGN. They can give great FPSs that are the same every year an 8-9 but an equally great game that is weird or different gets a 6-7. I feel like the score can vary 2 points depending on who reviews the game. This is definitely a cultural thing as well. Some people I know can't stand anything that seems Japanese.
I can't wait to play this but it's the only thing I asked for for Christmas so I'll have ot wait.

Re: Hands On: Does PlayStation VR Really Have Tracking Issues?

NESguy94

@get2sammyb Definitely. It's also worth mentioning that I have had a lot of issues running the Oculus CV1 on our $1000, 2014 Alienware PC (which is more powerful than a PS4). I have to play it on a custom VR PC that we built for the college and it cost almost $3000.
It's like comparing apples and oranges when it really comes down to it.

Re: Hands On: Does PlayStation VR Really Have Tracking Issues?

NESguy94

Also, you may want to try it out in a room with fewer reflective surfaces. I believe the move uses IR sensor the same way the Wii does, and Windows, mirrors and other shiny object will bounce the signal all over the room and give hi those "jitters". I used to have my Wii in a big room with Anya window and had some jitters but I noticed that my friends' Wiis didn't do that. After I moved it into my room where I only have a small window the problem went away.

Re: Hands On: Does PlayStation VR Really Have Tracking Issues?

NESguy94

Thanks for the article. Giant bomb were the only ones I'd seen that had this issue (at least to this extent). Like you said, it's not perfect but I'd bet they have a defective unit. I've done a lot with Rift through my university program and I'd say that it's a better overall experience so far but they've had a lot more time to work out the bugs than Sony has.

Re: Poll: Will You Pay Full Price for Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4?

NESguy94

No, not even if it has all the DLC and extras. Don't get me wrong, I really want to play this but my backlog is big eniugh that it'll be cheap by the time I get around to it. Plus there's a lot of great games I missed out on, like Arkham Knight & Witcher 3, that are getting cheap and I'll buy those first.

Re: Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4's Still Holed Up in Croft Manor

NESguy94

I loved the reboot being a timed exclusive is crap. Eidos started this franchise on PS1 and SEGA Saturn; why would they screw their original and biggest fanbase? I'm not even a Sony fanboy and I think this is stupid. Heck, I played the first one on my 360. Even at $30 bucks I'd have to seriously consider buying this.

Re: Your June PlayStation Plus Games Have Been Revealed

@get2sammyb
SPOILER ALERT
I was actually glad for the happy ending (especially when people who are LGBT are at higher risk of suicide). It just wasn't expecting it. I guess that's what makes it clever story-telling. I almost expected a Romeo and Juliet ending.

Re: Your June PlayStation Plus Games Have Been Revealed

NESguy94

Meh, Sports games aren't my thing. Gone home was an interesting experience but it was anti-climactic.

SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
I'm not anti-LGBT+ but the game felt like it was pushing an agenda by the end instead of answering questions, like, what happened to the parents? Would this game have received the same acclaim if it was about a couple of rebellious straight high schoolers in stead. Please don't hate me.
SPOILERS END HERE

Re: Batman: Return to Arkham Is Looking Like a Pretty Rough PS4 Remaster

NESguy94

I don't get why we need remaster of such new games. I understand games that are system sellers like The Last of Us. It also made sense since they wanted to make sure people who sold their PS3s could still enjoy it. Sleeping Dogs, Dishonored, and Tomb Raider were all great but again they didn't need to be remastered. Grimm Fandango was remaster done right. A classic game that was difficult to find, remastered for a more mainstream audience.

Give me backwards compatibility and I'll be happy. Then I can play all of these games on my PS4 without purchasing them again.

Re: Review: Broforce (PS4)

NESguy94

The lag at the beginning of stages was really unimpressive. There were a few levels that felt almost impossible to survive because of that. How did they miss that? Other than that it's been a great game.

Re: You Won't Be Reading Any The Division Reviews on Launch Day

NESguy94

I guess I can see both sides of this. On one hand it seems like a way to make sure there's no negative reviews out before the game releases. On the other hand, with multiplayer centric games it would be difficult to review until everything is up and running with many people playing. I've never made a game so I don't know how mich a company gone tunes the mechanics on the few days before launch.

Re: Review: Firewatch (PS4)

NESguy94

I really wanted this to do well. Even if it is a "walking simulator" it seems l like something that we haven't seen before. I'll play it at some point but I like my strong narratives and a lot of people have said this one is fairly mediocre.

Re: Looks Like Star Wars 1313 May Happen After All

NESguy94

I was excited and then I remembered that EA now controls it. They didn't even come I put swinging on their first AAA Star Wars game since acquiring the rights. It will be a long time before we see a good Star Wars game again.
