@Neolit you hit the nail on the head. Sony's like, "screw the fans who held onto and took care of their discs. Let's make them pay for it again!" Wii U and XBOX One got it right.
Great review! I still have the trilogy for my SNES and revisited them recently and man are those hard games. I contemplated dusting off the game genie at a few points.
I just can't see myself paying much for a lot of these when I own them already it can get the physical copy for cheap. My OG PS3 died so I'd like to be able to play the PS2 disc in my PS4. However if they put Rule of Rose or the .hack series on there I might pick them up because physicality copies are so expensive.
I just went to play this and it won't start. It's still in perfect shape and my system works fine. Upon further inspection it seems that I've come across my first case of disc rot. At least it wasn't on a rare game like Valkyrie Chronicles...
Playing Drake's Fortune currently and even with a fresh coat of paint it feels dated. Some of the mechanics, empty square rooms, weird camera angles and funky physics are things I hoped they would fix.
Is the season pass included with the collectors edition? I like new content but I think they should do something to reward early adopter, say 25% off all DLC. I think the trend with season passes is getting out of hand. The Witcher 3 did DLC right.
@ApostateMage It had good character but I didn't enjoy it as much as similar games, but it did well with reviewers. I feel it didn't get nearly as much press as my previously mentioned open world games.
@ShogunRok @get2sammyb Open world games need to do something to stand out otherwise they just get lost in the crowd. Just cause 2/3, The Elder Scrolls and fallout are all fun because of the unique gameplay and new experienced while games like Sleeping dogs and Watch_dogs fell by the wayside. Watch_dogs tried to be different but it got boring and wasn't all that fun.
@sinalefa I knew what you meant. I think they should at least rerelease these but I'd like to see these remastered instead of some game that's already HD.
@sinalefa I think the way you phrased your first comment can be taken 2 ways. You said "don't be dumb and remaster these games". I think you meant "don't be dumb and not remaster these games".
Great games but that's a weird list. I'm not sure if I would even put some if these on a top 50 list. Zelda, FFVII and TLoU definitely deserve to be on here though

Dark Cloud and Twisted Metal are the only two with reasonable prices. You can get any PS2 GTA for $5 at a second hand games store.
