@__jamiie how many game console demos have you seen that the console wasn’t in the middle, directly below the tv? The ps5 will be in that position in that demo, I assure you.

@Boomtown_Raider it’s not a very clear picture, there very well could be ventilation from the rear or other area.

@JON22 if I was in a hotspot I’d certainly agree with that. Where I am though there are no cases that aren’t isolated so I’d definitely be up for giving it a go!

@Milt no, he’s right. That’s where the console would be situated (it even has a security lock). The other cap could be another portion or back of the display (possibly displaying the optional accessories).

Edit: in fact you can already see the power cord (edit: or HDMI - it’s not a clear pic of it) fed into the box for the ps5 if you zoom in.

@Makina except as many have said on this reply board alone there are many people that are absolutely fine with 30fps so the narrative you’re pushing is false.

@playstation_king that’s not going to happen imo. They’re the ones who made yearly subscriptions for online play, they’re not about to get rid of it completely. Expect more integration between their products as this is clearly something along those lines.

Edit: perhaps you were too quick to believe this, there were quite a few twitter accounts that were accessed fraudulently - this may be a case of that (or the infinitely more likely scenario of someone speaking about something they didn’t have all the information for). Safe to say it wasn’t accurate if the tweet was removed.

Edit: I mean really, what person would believe the ONE X would be 4K but not the much more powerful PS5 🤦‍♂️

@Dyrual Also, Sony has clearly already said that games released after a certain point in time need to work on the ps5 (meaning natively - which would assure increased performance).

@Dyrual why wouldn’t we know a major third party game will run better on the ps5? Are we expected to believe the company will put work into optimizing for the series x but not the PlayStation 5 when PlayStation is a larger platform?

@Dyrual Two things - Microsoft is not talking about adding ray tracing to Xbox one titles running on Series X (other than ones made for ray tracing of course) and Sony doesn’t need to have a badge to show whether a game is made for ps5 - They have PS5 game cases for that 🤦‍♂️

@huyi they have said that PS4 accessories will be compatible so it’s likely, although controllers have not been confirmed for sure.

The combat feels so good in this. I haven’t played long but what I have played so far both looked and felt amazing.

Edit: i really like the digital deluxe editions horse by the way, strange that it locks your choice to the one horse though.

I doubt it, isn’t their focus supposed to be on first party games? Highlighting a major 3rd party multi-platform game is the opposite of that 😂.

@JJ2 it’s not even logic that’s difficult to come to or without precedence: Resident Evil Village had to cut previous gen support to be able to fulfill their vision. Bungie had to cut support of previous gen in destiny so it could do things that the previous gen was holding back from.

The people saying it won’t affect games haven’t been paying attention and are ignorant of the actual facts.

@BlueOcean first two years of games minimum - not the first few games as you’re saying. You can bet this will extend if the sales aren’t what they want them to be for the Series X.

As for your comment saying he didn’t say what it’s being made to look like he said: it’s very clear that’s what he was doing and don’t try to act like it wasn’t. It’s very reminiscent of when closet bigot/racists act like a racist isn’t making a racist comment because it’s mildly hidden in the message.

@darksoul77 for all you know this could be information given to throw Microsoft off of their real pricing plans. Things like that are done in business all the time, especialy with the information coming from unnamed “sources”.

Edit: also mysteriously absent was any mention of the second presumably cheaper to manufacture model. Which would further encourage skepticism on the reported information.

@ThaBEN it’s Microsoft who are only selling proprietary drives.

You can install any sufficiently speedy drive that physically fits into the m.2 slot. Sony is going to be releasing information on supported drives at a later date.

This sounds cool. I’ve been meaning to dust this off and start a new play through with psvr and PlayStation move controllers. I played through once without psvr and played some in from time to time but the grind has kept me from getting pulled back in. I wish there was a mode to just be a space pirate without having all the grind.

Day one for me so this is excellent news!

@MedaXbot Has to do with map traversal and fast travel apparently. Sufficient to say because they’ve rebuilt the game for ps5 though, it’s as simple as that really.

Here’s what we know from the information given:

The overwhelming majority of PS4 games will be playable on the ps5 (with perhaps increased framerates/resolution), some however may not work as intended which is always a possibility with software running on hardware it wasn’t designed for.

This is not something that is added later; developers could update their titles to make them work at a later date if they wish but that’s something else entirely.

@swagbag713 I’m sorry I got frustrated with you, it’s just this narrative is pushed all the time needlessly when the information is readily available.

Look at Sony’s history with backwards compatibility:

ps2: ps1 compatibility right away did not add it after the fact.

Ps3: ps2 and ps1 compatibility right away didn’t need to add it after (actually removed compatibility after to make the system cheaper)

When they’ve had it it was an automatic thing not at all like Microsoft which is seemingly what you’re basing your expectations on..
