Re: PS5 Is Edging Out the Switch 2 in the UK So Far This Year

MamaSymphonia

Wow this is quite the comment section lol. Personally, I have both a Switch 2 and a PS5 and love them both. And it's not like I'm super rich or anything; both systems cost about $1000 combined over 5 years, which was an amount I was easily able to save up for just by giving up McDonald's once a week.

This idea that there has to be a huge war over which one people should buy when both systems have incredible value and amazing entertainment experiences is so ridiculous.

Re: Horizon Sales Update Cements It As One of Sony's Strongest Franchises

MamaSymphonia

I only got about 5 hours into the first game and never bothered to play the sequel. It struck me as extremely competently made and obviously very expensive, but with very little soul; what little there was seemed ripped out of a bargain bin Pixar or Dreamworks movie. I don't see myself ever returning to the franchise, but the people clearly know what they want, and I'm glad it makes them happy.

Re: PS5 Is the Second Fastest Selling PlayStation Ever in the US, Despite Price Hikes and Production Issues

For me, PS5's biggest issue is that it doesn't have many exclusives. Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2 are there now, but a PC release is certainly on the horizon for both (if not already confirmed). So, if my PC can play all the games that come out on PS5 and all the games that come out on Xbox, why get either one?

I would like to see a stronger focus on making the next PlayStation either a very unique place to play or a better value place to play than my PC, because if all they offer is a straight hardware upgrade, I may skip PlayStation the next generation and just play their (amazing) games when they inevitably come to Steam.

Re: Rumour: To Avoid Even More PS5 Price Increases, Digital Edition to Get Reduced SSD Space

Gamers in general have had it pretty cushy, as the industry has been more or less immune to changing economic circumstances. They're getting their first real taste of economics now, but unfortunately most don't have the specialized education to understand why Sony (and Nintendo) can't just "make things cheaper." And it would be an absolute waste trying to explain it in a forum thread. This brainrot generation will only ever understand "CEO bad / company greedy" as the only reason things are so expensive.

Re: New PS5 Games for June and July 2025

MamaSymphonia

It's gonna be a quiet month on PS5 for me. I think Switch 2 will probably eat up all my time (between Mario Kart, Rune Factory, Fantasy Life, and dipping into some GameCube). I'm sure Death Stranding 2 will be sublime, but it will be a sale game for me sometime down the line.

Re: Even More PS5 Price Increases Being Considered by Sony

@heavyartillery56 Tariffs aren't bad by themselves. They can be powerful and even surgical economic tools. But they're better used as a scalpel than a sledgehammer. All these whole cloth reciprocal tariffs will do is raise the price of everything, forever. Even if companies eventually shift production to the US to avoid them, the prices will stay up. And sure, that might make the trade deficit go down... yippee. I'm sure the average American cares more about that than being able to afford entertainment or even basic necessities... right?
