Re: This Is One PS4 Bundle You Won't Find in Your Local Store

Luigi_Skywalker

The post exchange always had good deals on video games when I was in the Marines. And local co op is a must because you don't have always have access to Internet when they move you around all the time or when deployed on a ship, but local co op is great because you always have a bunch of friends around. Honestly tho we got the best deals abroad when we went to places like Singapore and Thailand. Half of my Gameboy Advance catalog was in Japanese.

Re: First Impressions: Coming Home to Grand Theft Auto V on PS4

Luigi_Skywalker

I never got to play this on PS3 as I had traded in my PS3 on a ps4 by the time this launched, so I can't compare to last gen GTA V. But u am 9% into the game and in love with it. I have been a fan of GTA since I played the top down Gameboy Color Gta II. Having lived in Los Angeles for a few years this is my favorite setting (they really nailed it). It's been quite the wait since Nico Belic tore up Liberty City but totally worth it!!

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PlayStation 4)

Luigi_Skywalker

I am thoroughly enjoying this. I almost didn't purchase it because I was not a fan of Ghosts, but I am very glad I did. Prior to Advanced Warfare, Black Ops II was my favorite Call of Duty (and I have played them all with the exception of MW3) and this is like Black Ops II on steroids! I have played a little of the Campaign and I was impressed with the graphics, but I absolutely love the multiplayer. They have made some awesome tweaks to the load out and how you level your weapons/camos. This will definitely keep me occupied until GTAV on the 18th.

Re: Sony's Still Bleeding Money, But PS4's in Beast Mode

Luigi_Skywalker

I think the fact that there was a 7 year wait between console this generation created a huge market full of consumers ready to jump to something bigger and better. Sony came out on top as the gamer friendly console, Microsoft had some really bad PR, and online player groups made group purchasing desicions. I personally persuaded about a dozen friends who primarily gamed on 360 to buy ps4s. I think this has a snowball effect- you want to play with as many of your friends as possible. For every ps4 sold, that person probably has a dozen or so real life friends who maybe hasn't bought into next gen yet that will check which console their friends already bought before committing to an Xbox one or a ps4. It was very good that Sony established an early lead, I think that will pay of exponentially in the coming years.

@get2sammyb I know I read rumors leading up to launch last year(I think some may have been on this site) saying sony expected to ship 15 million ps4s the first year. At the time everyone thought it was some sort of error like they moved a decimal point. Kudos Sony! This is only good news and it will propel devs to take advantage of the new hardware.

Re: Yoshida: DriveClub: PS Plus Edition Delayed on PS4 Until Further Notice

Luigi_Skywalker

I don't think anything nefarious is going on with sony as it pertains to driveclub. However, their press releases don't make any sense. Saying they want to hold the release back until they can provide the best possible experience doesn't jive. You already released a broken product, how much more damage is it going to do if all the ps+ people get the same broken offline experience. This makes it look like a scheme to sell the full version to people who are too impatient to wait for the ps+ version of the only first party non-rerelease of the year. I was contemplating buying the full version after trying out the ps+ version as I really enjoy racing games but after the way this was handled I will not purchase Driveclub on principle alone. Here's to hoping Gran Turismo 7 is out sooner rather than later.

Re: Talking Point: How Does Sony Solve a Problem Like Xbox One Price Cuts?

Luigi_Skywalker

@get2sammyb It definitely feels like Sony is becoming complacent. Their holiday lineup has zero exclusive big releases, the Drive Club ps+ edition debacle continues with no explanation. Worse yet, I don't think anyone actually believes that the dozen holiday releases that were pushed into the first quarter 2015 are actually going to release first quarter. More likely bloodborne, the witcher and the order are the 2015 holiday lineup.

Re: Soapbox: Why P.T. Has Me Petrified at the Prospect of Silent Hills

Luigi_Skywalker

@get2sammyb I was locking up my house last night with my iPhone flashlight and had a flashback to P.T. I love survival horror but last gen was a joke. This is showing some promise on ps4 with games like outlast and this. I agree wholeheartedly that this is the scariest game I've ever played. It's scarier because u can't die and it feels like it will never end.

Re: You'll Need to Find Your Sea Legs for the Darkest Assassin's Creed to Date

Luigi_Skywalker

I'm kinda glad I'm over this otherwise I would be upset that ibis oft would like me to downgrade to a ps3 to play their franchise. The publishers can put out games that require the less investment on last gen for the same price to a larger install base. This is why there is a Barren next gen exclusive release schedule. I would have rather the ps4 games cost an extra $10 like very other transition (it's only fair with inflation alone) than not get any new ps4 games! It makes my heart sad, this very we'll be the last console I buy (and I've bought every console since the Atari). Thank you, I will now step down from my soap box.

Re: The PlayStation 4 Just Can't Catch A Break In Japan

Luigi_Skywalker

@Jazzer94 I think the question is more likely"why make exclusives for a country that doesn't buy home consoles". Maybe they expected poor sales figures in Japan and that's why it launched there 4 months later than Europe and North America. I think they can do just fine without selling any ps4s at all there. I don't think sony needs to worry about japan not buying consoles, japan needs to be worried that no one is going to cater to them if the don't purchase the new hardware.
