It wouldn’t be a Bungie release week without a completely empty release calendar. We can’t help but feel sorry for NHL 15, but we suppose that fans of ice hockey will pick up EA Sports’ latest trip to the ring regardless of the colossal Destiny banners plastered, well, everywhere. If you’re not looking forward to Activision’s first-person shooter, then you may want to program some kind of internal filter over the next few days, because we’re going to be blowing the intergalactic excursion wide open – starting with our regular Pick of the Week...
Pick of the Week: Destiny
It feels like an absolute eternity since four awkward looking Bungie employees appeared on Sony’s stage at last February’s PlayStation Meeting to announce that it had a signed a strategic partnership with the platform holder regarding its first original property in over ten years. Since then, the Japanese giant has revelled in every opportunity to remind you that the first-person shooter will be the best on the PlayStation 4 – now it just needs to keep the PlayStation Network online long enough for people to properly enjoy it.
Assuming that Sony can bat aside any impending DDoS attacks, then this week will find you finally able to explore the galaxy in your finest piece of armour, shooting strange little spacemen in the face with your friends – and the strangers that you encounter along the way. While we really enjoyed the beta, we do have some pressing questions about the quality of the final game. Will the story actually matter, for example? Is the Tower going to prove anything more than a glorified interactive menu? Will there be enough gear in the title to keep our loot lust satisfied? All will be revealed scarily soon.

How about a PS3 vs PS4 poll for Destiny? Aren't you curious how the readership breaks out, or do you already know the % of PS4 ownership? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only 1 w/o it. Though I may be the only 1 w/o either a PS4 or Vita, but hey the PS3 games keep coming. LBP3, DQ:Heroes. AC:Last Gen, Godzilla. And apparently Destiny is on the PS3 as well, who knew
@rjejr If we listed separate SKUs for Destiny in the poll, we'd have to do it for all of them. I am curious what the split is, though - we should get some information after release.

Do you mean different packaging like limited editions and collectors boxes, I'm not following the game at all except what's on here, or consoles? I don't think it matters what edition somebody buys, the game is the game, but yeah PS3, PS4, X1, X360, PC, whatever else, Vita, Ouya, FireTV, I know 3DS and Wii U didn't get it. I'm sure anybody who owns a PS4 and visits this site would buy it on there, but I suppose a few PS4 owners may like FPS on PC.

OK, no PC version, just the 4 non-Nintendo home consoles,which makes it a short poll.
Though this may complicate some people purchase decisions. Why not buy the PS3 version and let your kid brother play wile you play on your shiny new PS4 for free? (I'm thinking of doing this w/ Skylanders, buy Wii version get Wii U for free as we use both systems in different rooms in hour house.)

@THEundying27 you're not the only one mate. The lack of single player killed it before release for me.
Probably just as well NHL 15 will get swamped by Destiny after hearing all the modes that are missing from last year.

@BLPs Watch Dogs was far from a flop, seeing as it was the fastest selling new IP in history.
I'm not much of an offline/SP gamer anymore its all about online for me so its Destiny ALLL the way i had enough couch co op and SP to last me a lifetime before the internet was invented, toodles and i cannny wait!!!!
Also Watchdogs didnt do it for me either i actually bought the game TWICE before i came to that conclusion so i gave it a decent go, an open world without anybody else is in, is still an empty world...

Can't wait to shoot aliens, and drive a landspeeder.
I'm itching to visit all these planets and just gaze at the landscape. Pure escapism at its best. Mix in kicking alien butt with friends/strangers sounds fun. Us v them. I'm gonna join a clan ASAP!
I saw the Glacial White PS4 at E3 and started drooling... then my friend was like, "It comes with Destiny too," and I was like, "Huh how about that." I'm not really excited for DESTINY so much as excited for my new console. I don't play FPSes, but I'll certainly give it a whirl!

Destiny tops the list but I was also really hyped for next-gen NHL... Then I saw the features it was missing on PS4 and X1.
