Re: 'It's a Huge Upgrade': PS5 Pro Poised to Improve Massively in 2026

LordAinsley

@nessisonett Obviously its expensive, but I got a Dualsense Edge and just got some stick drift after 2 years of serious use,

as you can replace the modules unlike the OG DS, a repair is really cheap and you're back to gaming again.

Its a spend more to save later thing of course, but I was quite happy with the results

I think it was Silksong that finally did it for my left stick. I think all that jerking the stick about messed it up

Re: Sony Accused of Using Generative AI Art for PlayStation Advent Calendar Promo

LordAinsley

@themightyant
I'm not a fan of your argument, even if in this case you're right? Thats...a strange thing to say.

I'm not even anti-AI, and its become such a difficult subject to discuss because people act like this is some sort of weird culture war.

Its super useful for coding etc, and it will revolutionize some stuff for sure. It's actually really useful in the video game space.

That being said, the art just looks bad and I dont want it jammed in my face on every billboard and blasted into my face at every opportunity because someone said "hey, this is fast, doesnt matter that it looks like utter garbage because it was fast"

Sometimes nothing is the better option and I think AI has broken this in peoples minds.

Re: Sony Accused of Using Generative AI Art for PlayStation Advent Calendar Promo

LordAinsley

To the defenders here, I'd say this.

This kind of stuff is to try and normalize the usage. Downplaying it enables this and it'll creep into every aspect.

The fact is that it does look bad and it does look like AI. It used to be that if you were going to do something but it was going to look bad, you'd deem it not worth it and cancel it. But now, you just use AI, it looks bad and you just shrug.

Just because the time constraints have been reduced, doesnt make it good. It looks bad and therefore, you should have either got some actual art or maybe just cancelled the whole campaign because it doesnt work

Re: Silent Hill F Made Easier in Difficulty Overhaul, Adds Casual Mode

LordAinsley

These are good fixes. I have the Platinum now but replaying the whole game multiple times was a chore, the option to skip sections I think is a good compromise.

The story was great. I hope the next game has better combat and maybe includes these changes from the get go. I really didnt feel like redoing the entire house or school sections of the game 3 times added anything to my playthroughs I was just beelining through trying to get to the next bit of story

Re: Poll: Is Fallout 4 Underrated, 10 Years Later?

LordAinsley

I hated it.

I don't like the lack of dialogue choice and I think the radiant quests are one of the worst things ever put into a Bethesda game.

I also dont like the base building, which would be fine if it wasnt painfully obvious that the rest of the development suffered to include it

Re: Sony Is a 'Terrible Company' That's 'Blowing It in the Games Business', Says Michael Pachter

LordAinsley

It feels like a wave of amnesia has hit gaming press.

It felt like maybe, a decade ago?, people just stopped reporting on what he said because he just guesses and talks nonsense and doesnt know what he's talking about.

Then suddenly, the last year, I'm hearing his lukewarm takes again. What gives? Either journalists have collevtively gone insane or a new wave of journalists who don't remember this grifter from the last 10 years ago are posting about him without the background knowledge

Re: The End of the F***ing World's Scribe Signed for Live Action Life Is Strange TV Show

LordAinsley

@nessisonett I was going to make a comment about how the game was set a decade before it came out so has this sort of weird nostalgic touch to its dialogue etc so it wasnt really cringe but I just did a quick google, apparently its set more or less the year of development.

thats insane, I played it on launch and always just assumed it was supposed to be set in like 1995 or something and its dialogue etc was kind of cringey because it was supposed to be indicative of how people were talking a decade before.

Apparently it was just cringe

Re: PS5 Pro Pockets a Native 8K, 60fps Game

LordAinsley

I really like the idea of making games that are almost tech demos around more simplistic topics like Pool.

Big fan of Rockstar Table Tennis and thought it was an incredible demonstration of the then new RAGE engine

Re: Rumour: Sony Wants Warner Bros' Gaming Assets, Like Mortal Kombat

LordAinsley

Bad source in my opinion.

There's no reason why a wrestling website would be able to find this out, people are pointing towards the fact that AEW is broadcast on WBD channels and HBO Max but it just seems so unlikely even if a wrestling site has some insiders at AEW, that anyone there would be aware of this kind of deal.

The Variety piece is interesting and builds on some previous announcements they had made around their gaming division months ago
