Whats the point of remaking old Assassins Creed games, the games are all exactly the same anyway, playing Valhalla feels like playing Origins, Playing 2 feels like playing Brotherhood etc.

Please do not buy these titles. Ubisoft need to stop churning out Far Cry 3 reskinned and AC reskinned every few years and they won't learn if you buy them

I thought the last trilogy was decent, but sort of diminishing returns for each game.

The story wasn't super engaging either so would like to see improvements here. I really liked Lara and the Maori guy in the trilogy, but thought they should have built more on their friendship. The voice actors bounced off each other really well I wanted more of them

Surely you should be trying to make those 5% reductions across the board rather than pinpointing two entire studios and shutting them down.

Although I believe Intercept are a studio that was spun up to support Kerbal and help with Kerbal 2 and are directly responsible for Kerbal.

Aside from the fact the controversy is entirely ginned up by bad actors and waste of absolutely everyone's time, I don't think saying “stay tuned for updates” and thanking players for their “passion and feedback” is a tacit approval or even acknowledgement of the cringe inducing petition currently being run by some of the worst people in the space.

The time window on those breach chests are insane. I'm just making them but oof. I cant imagine how someone with slower reaction times would do it, and if you were color blind

@Porco agreed. I really like the gameplay which is keeping me hooked but the story is a real nothingburger and the VO is pretty awful

@DennisReynolds I think I prefer the combat in Stellar Blade to Nier, although yeah, the story and voice acting is nowhere near as strong.

Anyone gassed about "censorship" in this title, open the menu, go to the costume section and click your current costume.

It removes your current costume and thus, all of Eve's clothes.

@R_Ryder interesting take. I think the whole franchise just kind of sucks.

First game was too edgy with this depressing dull protag, second they overcorrected and the characters were too wacky.

Third game, they just blanked off and had no protag. Also bad. they cant win, I think they should trash the series

@wildcat_kickz I will probably just check the reviews, see if it requires you to invade 1000 strongholds and open 10,000 chests and then not buy the game if thats the case.

@somnambulance I'm with ya! Yeah I dont think I would have finished it if it wasnt a launch title, I was aching for stuff to play after Demon Souls and Miles Morales and just ploughed on with it.

AC Red has a lot to do to make up for some of these weaker elements, but any preview coverage I've read so far sounds a lot like they haven't learnt any lessons at all. I'll keep my fingers crossed though

@Supern0va I agree with that, the compartmentalisation of the story was a fun idea I thought, different Kings and characters to meet in each section. I also liked the future story in Valhalla for the first time in a while, I personally enjoyed how it paid off.

Yeah Viking stuff is probably more interesting to me also, I thought the egyptian stuff was dull and yeah, similar to you I skipped Odyssey.

I played Valhalla for 70hours but by about hour 35 I was kind of done. I found it too repetitive. Same with Origins. I kind of liked the story but found the gameplay lacking

@Fyz306903 I think at the time the stories seemed sweeping and interesting. replaying DE for the first time in 20 years really made me realise how far story in games has come over 2 decades though.

I think 2 still has the best narrative. 3 is interesting and a bit different although the open world gameplay wasnt great

I honestly think these titles haven't age well, gameplay wise and story wise.

I think it was impressive at the time, but comparable to actual gangster movies and newer games, the storys pretty average. And the gameplay is very dull 2 decades later.

3s an outlier and just kind of a bad game.

A full reboot is how I'd do it. Or just shelf the series.

I have never felt more disconnected from the majority than seeing It Takes Two win GOTY. An awful dull videogame full of annoying characters in my opinion.

I think Brothers is also very overrated. A Way Out is just rubbish

insane theres not a cameo honestly, even just a radio playing at the start of a scene or something. seems like an easy win

@gaston True, potentially some staffs work on 6 is complete and the project they were moved to in Pre-Production was one of the canned ones.

I agree its more accessible and recent but man, Fallout 4 sucks. Its just nowhere near as good as any of the others, even if it is a bit more technically competent.

I think it'd be a shame if we didn't get DS2, especially as its beloved and the groundwork has already been put in

@VaultGuy415 I think the only chance at this point is a Bloodborne Remake as a launch PS6 title. If this doesn't happen, its game over. We will never get anything.

good because presumably this means the performance will be improved, but its wild to think you can launch bad and then if the game doesnt sell, they'll just leave it in a janky state.
