Gamescom ONL 2023

Gamescom's Opening Night Live event was briefly derailed when a man invaded the stage, interrupting host and producer Geoff Keighley. The man appeared to repeat the phrase “Bill Clinton wants to play GTA 6" several times before being led away by security.

The phrase is apparently in reference to Matan Even, AKA "The Bill Clinton Kid", who was arrested at Keighley's Game Awards last year after following FromSoftware's Hidetaka Miyazaki onstage to accept Elden Ring's Game of the Year award. Both incidents were quite shocking in how seemingly easy it was for members of the audience to get on stage.

After the show, Keighley said: "That’s just so disappointing. This is such a special night for so many developers; it’s really disappointing to see someone act that way. Really, it’s just so sad to me to see something like that happen on a night when we’re here to celebrate games and this community and how much they mean to us.”

While unconfirmed, it's been speculated that this may be the same individual who recently crashed an episode of a German sporting show and had interrupted a T.V. game show two years prior, each time inexplicably asking for updates on when Grand Theft Auto VI might be released.

What do you make of this whole mess, and how was security not ready for this, considering what happened at The Game Awards? Let us know how badly you want Rockstar's next release in the comments section below.
