I don't care how expensive it is for Sony, I'm not the one paying, I want to see Shawn uncomfortably giving his speech.

I thought it was a reskinned version of scalebound after the partnership with Microsoft fell through, but it's a different developer. It looks nice, but I'd like more creativity in the environments.

It could be their best work ever. Bloodborne was only slightly different than dark souls, but I'd have it no other way. Sekiro might be different enough though.

It sounds like the reviews are split between people fine with the same old formula and of those who wished they expanded on the game. With developers really nothing up their creativity in 2018, it seems the same old formula didn't cut it for some reviewers.

Lol. Thanks to EA, "player choice" has been redefined as microtransactions.

I think Judge Eyes was my favorite announcement. It didn't have much context, but the Yakuza crew creates some of the best stories I've ever experienced.

@thedevilsjester Ah, yes. I'd agree with that. I don't want to do away with review scores, but changing it from 1 to 5 would help tighten everybody's perspective.

@thedevilsjester If people bothered reading the review, they'd understand what the reviewer liked and didn't like about the game. By not reading, they misunderstand the score anyway. Scores are a quick way to guage the quality of a game, and I don't want to lose that because of what happened when gamexplain got rid of their scores.

I don't trust Activision after their launch debacle. Jim Sterling gave the og launch an 8 out of 10, but then promptly turned on it when bungie locked people out of events and started throttling experience points to push microtransactions. I'm staying as far away as possible from "live services".

@thedevilsjester Yeah, but a scoring system achieves the same results. 7 is average, 8 is great, 9 is exceptional, and 10 is perfect. It just sounds like we want to change a few words around over nothing.

GameXplain moved away from review scores and it has lost any meaning to the quality of the game. They recommended color trash, federation force, starfox 0, and pocket card jockey because they enjoyed them enough to "like" and even "love" them. It really brings down worthwhile quality games such as Samus returns, Bayonetta, botw, and Mario Odyssey when they're lumped with uninspired and bad games because they enjoyed them.

I skip any game with microtransactions.

It's a great year for Yakuza fans.

@TheArt Yeah, when you point that out, it is a legitimate criticism, and should be something they address. It was still my goty for 2017 though, but only because I was a fool for not playing Yakuza 0 sooner.

If it was from software saying it, then I'd put my guard down, but Activision said it. They probably just made a new word to replace microtransactions.

It makes me wonder if they were inspired by the trailer, "dog of war". Maybe they were trying to be clever too.

I really hope from software has much more leverage over Activision than the other way around. I will not buy it if it has any microtransactions.

It's the Activision logo that gives me pause. Now I'm suspicious about those in game coins.

Started with Yakuza 0, then kiwami. Was going to hold off on Yakuza 6 until the rest come out to play in order, but couldn't help myself. Yakuza 6's story is my favorite of the series so far.

@Ps4_all_the_way The story is definitely the reason why you play it. It's weird cause I'm a gameplay first, story second kind of guy, but the story makes the game.

It'll be interesting to see what happens next. I'm betting Sony will cave on this game, but if they cave on one inconsequential game, the floodgates may open for more.

I wasn't going to, but Yakuza does a cool karaoke mini game, and so I'm interested.

It's like saying phones would replace consoles; not without some severe consequences.

No Yakuza 6? Here's hoping it comes to PC then.

Yakuza 2 easy.

I downloaded a demo for soukiden kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 today. Not sure if that counts as a psn issue though.

I would be more impressed if they released a triple A game because then it'd be out of their comfort zone.

I was never interested in rhythm games until I tried it in Yakuza. I suppose you have to try it to see if you like it.

Yakuza 0 would be a great PS plus game. It's in a weird situation where you have to try it to see if you like it.

God of war needs those patches. When I first encountered the troll and died, it suddenly went into slow mo, and stayed that way. I just watched the troll try to smash my dead corpse for ten minutes before turning it off.

You know EA are going to jump on this article and try to put humans in front of their business. I won't give them the time of day, but Corey and his team deserve the accolades.

Whoever keeps falling for their "apologies" are asking to get burned. They apologize for their bad behavior when their next game is releasing. Thanks to Activision, I wait two years before even considering buying a product from them.

I'm personally hoping for a Rayman movie tie-in announcement from them at e3.

I personally can't wait to see what new microtransactions, lootboxes, and pay to win mechanics EA put into the game.

Finally! A decent sequel to Sugar Rush.

They have this figured out; release the game without any insidious payment method for the high scores and sales, then implememt pay to win only after people bought the game.

I wonder if the Nintendo president had similar thoughts when Miyomoto presented ocarina of Time and Mario 64.

Weird how that works; prioritizing quality helps to sell your game, but no, EA, Activision, and Konami require microtransactions and lootboxes for their money. Just goes to show you which companies are more talented.

As a child, I saw a movie called South Park: bigger, longer, and uncut. I was disappointed to see many cuts to the camera shots and gave it 0/10. Perhaps god of war will finally give me an uncut experience.
