Perhaps one of the biggest announcements during Sony's PlayStation LineUp Tour event, the head of Yakuza Studio, Toshihiro Nagoshi, revealed a brand new title. It's called Judge Eyes (or Project Judge), and sees you playing as a detective solving mysteries.
It appears to be based on the same engine as Yakuza 6, as it bears a strong resemblance to the popular series. From the above trailer, the tone seems to be a little more serious, and we're wondering whether there will be a stronger emphasis on the main story. We should learn more about this game during Tokyo Game Show, so stay tuned for new information as it emerges. For those with a Japanese PSN account, there's a demo available right now, so you'll be able to give it a try straight away. The game releases 13th December 2018 in Japan, and next year in the West.
What do you think of Judge Eyes? Are you excited for Yakuza Studio's new IP? Sleuth around in the comments below.

Another day one buy, excited for this one.
This looked great! Definitely the highlight of the show for me.
This looks SO good.
Can't find the demo on the JP Store?
Looks like there might be a bit of murder mystery to it. Maybe the killer takes the victims' eyes?
Anyway, this looks great. I'll definitely be keeping two eyes on this one. 😎
Hey, guys. There is an official website for Judge Eyes. It also has a short gameplay video describing core gameplay mechanics. Too bad it's japanese only.

@Zercin Thanks for sharing!
@Zercin THANK YOU
@get2sammyb DUDE WERE IS THE DEMO???
I NEED GET MY PHONIEX WRIGHT ON.
Obviously I'll be getting this. Love the games the Yakuza team makes.
so it's a japanese version of LA noire, that is what it looks like anyway.
@Zercin does the demo have english subtitles? i may give it a go.
I actually think it potentially looks even better than Yakuza, love the tone and vibe of it so far. Very excited!
This looks ace. I'd love more games where you play as a cop/detective.
Looks pretty good!!
@Cordeceps Same here.
Even considering reused assets, I'm always baffled how prolific team rgg is.
@huyi Yeah, LA Noire being the first ever game where you play as a detective or solve crimes.
Ohhhh i will keep an eye out for this
I hope there's no karaoke gameplay in this game. Takuya Kimura doesn't have a good singing voice.
One of the characters looks like sawano!
Going on the buy list.
@huyi I haven't seen any option for language settings. But I doubt it has.
The demo is disappointingly short... I've finished it in about 20~25 minutes. It has fight gameplay, "suspect search" gameplay, chase gameplay and a "boss fight". No side activities or shops available. Some parts of the demo are seen in the gameplay video from the official website.
@Zercin So it's basically another Yakuza game with added detectiveness? Hell yeah!!
@RainbowGazelle Well, yes. But "Project Judge" gives me a kind of "more serious" feeling compared to Yakuza which is full of wacky fights and events. This game feels more like a "Japanese crime drama simulator".
