Re: Stellar Blade Is Sony's Most Successful Single-Player PC Game to Date, Says Shift Up

@11001100110zero My guy, there is a full-on war going on out here in the dark underworld of the gaming sphere. A war between good and evil that will shape the future of the medium. You've probably strayed too far as this is very serious stuff that normal, well-adjusted citizens with actual lives just can't handle 😅

In short, western game develop has been infiltrated by the same ideology that has made pretty much everything in media worse over the past decade, whereas eastern game development hasn't.

Let's just say Eve's character design and choice of outfits offend a cultural minority whose privilege has landed them in positions of influence... although those people are now losing their jobs because the audience are voting with their wallet. (We are winning, and Eve's glorious, jiggling bazzongas are a symbol of that glory).

Re: Valve's Steam Machine May Not Be As Affordable As a PS5

Gr8VngnzN4esAngr

They have stated they aren't marketing this as a console, but as a PC. It is equal to or better than 70% of steam users' PC's and that's the market they are chasing while hoping to tempt anybody flirting with getting a PC. They will be confident in Devs optimising for it like they have done with the comparitively weak Steam Deck for years to come, while offering the opportunity to manually upgrade it if you wish. This will be $899/£899 at the cheapest, but compare that with pre-built PC's and many will see the value.

Re: Poll: Is Fallout 4 Underrated, 10 Years Later?

Gr8VngnzN4esAngr

BGS games have aged like milk, and most people have cottoned on to this after Starfield. I was already there after the disappointment of Fallout 4. Elder Scrolls 6 likely dictates the future of the studio now that Microsoft owns them, and if they release the same decades-old game design and tech, the game will fail and heads will roll.

Re: Now Xbox Owns Call of Duty, Sony's Investing Its Marketing Budget into Battlefield 6 Instead

Gr8VngnzN4esAngr

That marketing budget would likely have contributed to the inflated price Microsoft paid for Activision, too. Sony really does hold all the cards ATM, especially if the next Xbox is going to be a niche hardcore Xbox fan console. They keep saying the next console generation will be the last, but until consoles do die out, Sony will absolutely clean up ALL the money.

Re: PS6 May Go Uncontested as Rumours of Next-Gen Xbox Cancellation Spiral

Gr8VngnzN4esAngr

You'll hear a lot of talk about people should just abandon the PS6 for PC, but they forever ignore the obvious: not everyone can afford a gaming PC, nor do some people want a PC, which means the PS6 MUST be affordable, deliver value that a PC can't, and remain easy to use. Until streaming is perfect, there will always be a market for a console that can deliver your CoD's, GTA's etc. And most interestingly, MS will be relying on PS6 being very successful, as will all publishers.

Re: Hell Is Us Playable Demo Is Seemingly Imminent on PS5

Gr8VngnzN4esAngr

Has there been a more influential game than Dark Souls 1? And, yes, I'm aware of Demon's Souls.

With regards to soulslikes, they must be very good for me to play. Lies of P is a banger, and though I enjoyed the demo to The First Berserker I didn't think it was anything innovative or worth sinking dozens of hours into. I'll give this demo a shot and hopefully it adds its own flavour to the genre.

But the fatigue is real.

Re: God of War TV Series 'Honours' Norse Games, Teases Greek Saga

Gr8VngnzN4esAngr

It's just not possible to better the Norse saga games in another medium, especially TV. After the awful TLoU adaptation, I'd prefer they take the characters and world in an alternative direction rather than strictly following the source material. So long as they can emulate the feel of Kratos and the epic scale and brutality of that universe, it could be well worth it. Casting is crucial.

Re: Sony to Turn Horizon Zero Dawn into a Movie, Not a TV Show

Gr8VngnzN4esAngr

There absolutely is a way to make it work, but like pretty much any film, execution in all areas must be near perfect: casting, writing, directing, marketing.

I think it needs to have an amazing trailer that awes the general movie-going public rather than relying on fans of the games. The aim must be to emulate that palpable public reaction to the first Transformers (2007) trailer all those years ago.

And revamp Aloy's character from the boring, invulnerable plank she is in the games. In fact, character work must be bettered across the board. It is an IP that would benefit from some changes.

Only tease the lore, less is more, show how dangerous this world is while making it feel like an exciting place you would want to exist in, and DON'T use this as a canvas to lecture the great unwashed.

MAKE FILMS ESCAPISM AGAIN.

Re: Rumour: EA Going All-In on Battlefield 6 in Bold Attempt to Revitalise Franchise

Gr8VngnzN4esAngr

I just hope whatever campaign they make doesn't involve arrogant, authoritarian leaders provoking a dictator--who happens to lead a Nuclear superpower--via a proxy war directed by psycopaths that ends up with WW3 and the countless deaths of regular people whose tax money was appropriated for this mess in the first place.

Because, you know, I play games to escape from reality.
