After years of lip-service, Sony’s various divisions are finally working in unison. But while the collaborations between PlayStation and Sony Pictures have been obvious – The Last of Us is shooting in Canada right now, and Uncharted has been a big hit at the Box Office – we’ve seen less crossover with Sony Music.
You may recall Jaden Smith released a song for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which was one example of the two media companies collaborating – well, now it’s dropped an exclusive track for Gran Turismo 7, by British hip-hop trio The FaNaTiX. The headline here, though, is that it features movie star Idris Elba, who pops up with a pretty spicy verse.
As you’d expect, the song is called Vroom and its lyrics are all about supercars, like Bugattis and Maseratis. We quite like the tune – it’s wheedled its way into our sub-conscious over the course of the day – but knowing the tastes of readers on this website, we’re going to assume the comments section won’t be kind. In before who?!
This has been stuck in my head all day.
@Fragile Well done.
He's a singer and a DJ. This isn't that weird.
Idris should consider covering Unknown From M.E. - bring back the Knuckles raps!
Just listened to the song, it's a good tune to be fair.
Not bad. I'm not the biggest fan of hip hop, but I like some stuff. I'll have to give it a couple more listens to figure out what I really think of it. 🤔
Mumble mumble mumble
Cool . sony. And idris doing theyre thing.word up son
This is a reminder of why I don't like hip hop/rap/r&b, whatever you want to call it nowadays. Pretty good beat, some decent rap verses, but the typical repeating the same word over and over in the chorus. Would have been a good song if it had an actual chorus.
Oh well, if it helps promote the game, then I guess it served it's purpose and my opinion means nothing.
Seem to be stuck in my rock n’ roll ways, not an afrobeat convert as of yet 🤪 either I’m a dinosaur or have remarkable powers of resilience.
Well nice tune for real.
That's pretty darn catchy.
@SystemAddict Afrobeat? Like… Fela Kuti?
Some people didn't sit through the credits to Bastille Day (2016) and it shows 🤣
Pretty catchy tune. Listened to it a few times as i was going for gold whilst waiting for the main game to download. Quite liked the music rally actually.
Main raving tho and the music goes off completely. I need to be able to hear those engine tones.
The song isn't bad. But it doesn't fit Gran Turismo 7 at all. This sound like something you would find in Forza Horizon or a Need for Speed game.
The song is amazing it sinks into your soul, could be the best song in the game
No feeder on the soundtrack is a criminal mistake.
I like the cars in the clip but that is as much positive I can say about this garbage.
Nothing But Thieves and Bring Me the Horizon also made exclusive tracks for Gran Turismo 7.
Idris is not to shabby not my kind of music but not bad at all.
I kinda like it
@TuckNorris85 Oh I love nothing but thieves, thanks for sharing that info mate.
Time to listen to some songs 🎵
Maserati. Bugatti. Ducati.
Ferrari called, they also want in.
Nothing beats Snoop Dogg rapping about how much he loves Gran Turismo on the PS2
Music is subjective I believe. I think the music and the video are both awful. Yes I'm old really old. 😟😟
How did I miss this?
@RawnDawn I saw NBT twice last year, Norwich and O2 Arena, both were brilliant shows.
Saw Bring Me the Horizon last year too, they were at o2 a week or so before Nothing But Thieves
A lot of people saying they don't like it because they're too old? How old are you people? Hip hop has been around since 1973.
Anyways, this song is dope.
