Tried the demo. Got a couple of laughs out of it. But after falling over, and gliding all the way down, from a hill that I been trying to get to the top off, it already started to feel like a chore.😮💨 Didn't even finish the demo. There's just no way in h*ll, that this deserves a higher score, than Silent Hill f... 🤣
Best shmup in a LONG time. It was definitely worth the wait. Gonna pick up the Mega Drive cart as well, next year. I hope Ancient continues to make more MD games
I hope they go back to making the battles as epic, as in the original trilogy, with hordes of enemies attacking from everywhere. And I also don't want the camera to be stuck behind Kratos all the time. I miss how the camera angles changed, depending on the action on screen. And getting those epic shots of the environments and the gigantic bosses, was amazing. Unleash old-school Kratos, and don't involve Atreus in the next game.
@PinderSchloss Yeah, I didn't even finish the demo, due to the boring characters. The entire genre have become generic, and just feels like copy/paste of the same clichés, characters and stories...
Picked up a PS1 on the release, with a copy of Toshinden. Even got plenty of enjoyment, from that Demo1 disc, with Wipeout, Tekken, and was it Loaded as well? So many games on the system, that I still enjoy to play today.
PS1-PS3 was the best PS generations for me. Even the AAA titles were original and took risks back then. So many crazy ideas, before the industry got safe...
Played the demo. But after a promising opening, it quickly turn into the same boring open-world fluff as usual. The world is so damn boring. I prefer the first game.
I expected this to happen. Looked nothing like Perfect Dark. With the direction they were going with this one, I couldn't care less that it got cancelled. Hopefully, another developer, can make a game, more faithful to the original, in the future.
This is gonna become one of those "So bad it's good", cult classic, in the future. 😂
I saved some of my sanity, by playing the demo with the Japan dub.
VERY generic... Refunded on Steam. Gonna save the money for Cronos instead. Might pick up the game again, on a deep sale, if they have improved the game with updates. Had high hopes for this one...
At least we have Ninja Gaiden 4 coming up, which will hopefully deliver the hack n slash goods.
Even back in the NES days, I remember some games having really bad performance. After being used to the smooth C64 port, the 20fps port of Ghosts 'n Goblins was VERY jarring, or the horrible slowdowns in Gradius 3 and Super R-Type on SNES, were REALLY annoying. And who can forget, some of the insanely terrible arcade ports, that ran at 5-10 fps on Amiga/Atari ST?
So people DID notice and talk about performance problems back then as well, it's just that we didn't have internet back then, to discuss these things. That's why it seems that people are more critical about these things today.
@Ashcrapper
The only reviews about performance and other issues, that I trust, is from YT channels that analyses games, or comments in proper gaming forums.
@belmont I bought the Steam version, for 52 euros on Eneba. I only buy games during sales, on Steam. Brand new games are much cheaper on CDKey's, Eneba etc. Bought Cronos, for only 30 euros.
Played for an hour, until I shut it off and uninstalled the game. All these Falcom JRPGs feels the same now. Same kind of characters, story etc, rinse and repeat. 80 hours of this? No thanks...
They should offer a free upgrade, or at least a discount, for owners of the original. As soon as I heard the news about this re-release (just a short while after buying the original on PC), I got so pissed about it, that I didn't bother to play any further.
So damn tired of this trend of re-releasing a much better version of a JRPG, just a year or two later. Could have put all that work on a sequel instead.
Not gonna buy YS XI on release, if they will continue to do this with the series...
@Jammer Carpenter is my favorite director, and I would love a new movie. But from interviews etc, he just don't wanna make anymore movies. Which I can understand, as he was screwed by Hollywood, plenty of times. It burned him out. Music is his main passion now, and he still makes music for movies from time to time. Plus he's a huge gamer.
Great that we can play in third-person, from day 1. Hope they keep this option, from now on, in all future sequels. First person worked great in VII, but once was enough.
@Project13 Yes we want new QUALITY games, not generic crap like this, that rips off multiple AA and AAA games. And the cyberpunk genre, is getting beyond overused now. When bootleg "Morpheus" showed up, it felt like I was watching one of those fake AI trailers.
Incredible how the shops, on Nintendo, Xbox and PS consoles, have just gotten worse, instead of improving.
Switch 2 is a bit better, but still have issues.
I'll just wait for the PC release. Just as with GTA5 on PS3, it will probably have a very unstable framerate, and be filled with bugs (which the PS4 version mostly fixed). And the PS6 version, is the one that I would wait for, if I didn't have a PC.
I'll let the current gen owners, be the guinea pigs.
Wish Falcom would go for quality over quantity. 30-40 hour of a more focused storytelling, without bloat. As a fan of YS, from the very first game, the last one, felt more like Trails, than YS, and made me drop it, after only 10 hours. It's like all their franchises, just blends together now.
Maybe I should try the original version instead, if it's less bloated?
The negative comments on that video, is probably from all the REAL 30+ years olds, still living in their parents basement, getting offended by the game
Kinda reminds me of the first hour in Death Stranding, trying to not fall over with my gear, and learning the mechanics
Would it kill them, to try another artstyle and character design?
Feels like Falcom uses the same template for all their games.
Character designs in the style of Berzerk or Ghost in the Shell, would be nice.
I tried to get into Cold Steel, but the amount of characters, pointless dialogue and padding, just made me drop it.
I wonder how much padding they put into the Trials in the Sky remake...
"Ruthless difficulty may frustrate"
Why is this a con?
It's what keeps us coming back, to give it another try, learning the patterns, and improving our tactics.

This isn't exclusive to Konami, as there are plenty more games, that suffers from PSSR artifacts/shimmering.
Even Spider-Man 2 has some.

Re: Silent Hill F Is Another Game That Stumbles on PS5 Pro
This is why I prefer PC, where I myself, can choose what upscalers and settings to use or not.
It's time to end PSSR, and use FSR4 instead.
Re: Silent Hill F Is Another Game That Stumbles on PS5 Pro
They should just stop using PSSR...

People who complain about 13 hours, are too used to bloated open world games or JRPG's.
Too me it's perfect.

And yet the review on this site says:
"The remake targets 60fps, and it maintains that the vast majority of the time. " and "Slight frame rate drops"?
Well, we know that ain't true.
Not gonna trust any mention of performances, in their reviews.

Hope you find a good deal

You can find it here. I always use Allkeyshop, to search for the cheapest store. I see that Cronos costs around 40 euros now. Still a good price.

I don't know how to feel yet.
