Konami remembered it's a game publisher in the last few years or so, and while it's been finding success with major releases like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2, it's also making space for some smaller games.

One example is Darwin's Paradox, which was announced earlier this year. Developed by ZeDrimeTim, this is a side-scrolling platformer adventure in which you play as an unfortunate blue octopus getting into all kinds of scrapes.

The publisher just released a new gameplay trailer, and it looks like it could be good fun:

It sort of reminds us of Oddworld, in a sense; it's the vibe, the sort of cinematic nature of the action, and the deadly platforming you have to pull off.

We're definitely on board to give this a shot, but it won't be until 2026. The release window is revealed at the end of the new trailer.

So, we'll have to wait a while longer to play Darwin's Paradox ourselves, but it's looking fairly promising so far.
