Konami remembered it's a game publisher in the last few years or so, and while it's been finding success with major releases like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2, it's also making space for some smaller games.
One example is Darwin's Paradox, which was announced earlier this year. Developed by ZeDrimeTim, this is a side-scrolling platformer adventure in which you play as an unfortunate blue octopus getting into all kinds of scrapes.
The publisher just released a new gameplay trailer, and it looks like it could be good fun:
It sort of reminds us of Oddworld, in a sense; it's the vibe, the sort of cinematic nature of the action, and the deadly platforming you have to pull off.

We're definitely on board to give this a shot, but it won't be until 2026. The release window is revealed at the end of the new trailer.
So, we'll have to wait a while longer to play Darwin's Paradox ourselves, but it's looking fairly promising so far.

Really excited for this game to release next year. Looks like a ton of fun and really quirky.
The first half of the trailer is so promising! Beautiful underwater scenery with colorful designs and what looks like a fun swimming mechanic but then…you’re on land in a world of brown. Still might be worth a try, though.
Looked great since the first trailer. Bring it on.
I love the look of this, like a comedic version of Inside. Plus Octopuses are awesome.
Looks a bit like 'Inside' which is a good thing!
Damn. Octodad's origin story looks crazy.
This looks so much fun. Can't wait 😁
This caught my eye the first time it was announced earlier this year. Gives me vibes of Oddworld, Octodad, and Little Nightmares.
Totally forgot about this game, still looks fun!
Been waiting patiently for those game since the first trailer... can't come soon enough..
