@jwn85 I would like to, but never played a game like this before, so it's very difficult to stump up the money for it. especially as it's download only. so if I don't get along with it, I've spent a good chunk of money.
I haven't played a multiplayer game in years and honestly doesn't appeal to me anymore now I have got older. Time is very restricted, so id much rather use that on a story. I think if live service could be done right it could actually be really popular. But they all seem to follow the same trends and never actually experiment. Very few have succeeded and kept going to many years and I highly doubt there will be more like that. Will probably end up being a smaller dev somewhere in the world with the next big hit.
This could become an Anthem situation, EA pushed them and it really hurt their reputation. Never fully come back from that. I understand that these publishers and Devs want as much money as possible (it's a business) but there has to be a time when they understand not all micro transaction games will be a success.
I think the noms will be Zelda, Alan Wake for sure. I haven't played Baldurs Gate so I honestly can't comment on that, but it has a great reception - FF16, Spiderman 2. I don't think Zelda should win it even though I thought it was a great game - too much of the same as BOTW. so far my pick is Alan Wake 2.
I don't think it will happen. Maybe at the start of the 3rd game this well may be the case, but I feel we could end up seeing a closer link to altered dimensions and that's where Miles will be taken, with Peter forcibly having to take up the mantle with Moon to protect the city against Norman. While Miles is jumping around time and inevitably meeting Gwen.
There is just still too much story that directly links it to Peter.
Norman, Carnage and Osborne have all been present in the final parts and Peter is a huge part of that.
I pre-ordered this in like April, I never had any doubt it wouldn't score well and be highly rated. such a good developer and they have never disappointed (well me anyway)
Yeah I have this and Spiderman on pre-order. I actually got the ultimate edition of this through the turkey store ages ago (before the price increases) so I think I paid like £15. I've never played a bad game from this dev. So I'm banking on this being very good and any DLC just being an extension of the game.
Disco is very good. I did get stuck and stopped playing it though.so just be mindful on that, it's a very heavy very story driven game, so if you don't want a game you need to spend loads of time on I wouldn't bother. 100% worth playing though, I enjoyed what I had played.
@AhmadSumadi that's literally it. Even the highest accoladed actors have at least one film that didn't do so well. Tom cruise is a fine example. Some great bangers, but he has a few awful ones.
I just kept remake as a separate game to the OG, like many, the OG is a special game for me! Remake was fantastic as a separate game and no doubt part 2 will offer some changes too! Very excited for it, now we have the basis for the world, hopefully part 3 should be a quicker turnaround.
Give it a year and you'll need to spend another £1200 as they will nuke the battery even more. Might last 30mins at the moment, but next year it will last 30 seconds.
I throughly enjoyed the game, but didn't do any side quests as they were awful. But... I've been playing through FF6 for the first time, and you just can't ingnore the magic those old games had.
well, keep an eye out for the inevitable price reductions in store. they did this not long ago and everything they had in stock sold for silly money, I remember getting a switch for £70
In all honesty, 10 years is a long while, and while COD has been king for what 16 years now in that area, things change dramatically. New generations of gamers are what will decide the fate of future games and series. Who knows what will happen.
100% it will be the lost eikon story. Will need to be set prior to the events of this story of course, but it could be good. I'd also love the option to change members during battle. Do what they did with FF15. create smaller stories for Cid, Jill, Joshua and then make those playable. They all have different skills to Clive, so it would add variety, heck even just give us an Eikon Vs Eikon playground and let us have customised battles so we can play with all the eikons.
On my NG+ and I'm enjoying it even more this time around, much more challenging but I'm now much more skilled, so it's very fluid. I would agree with the rankings tbh. It's definitely up there.
The main story missions I've really enjoyed, especially the build up to a boss fight and then the boss fight itself. Some are very good set pieces. While it's not the FF of old, it's a great game none the less and definitely better than 15. I just couldn't get on with that. Nearing the end now I think and I'd say definitely worth a 9.
loving the story on this, but Christ the filler in between is absolutely dreadful, my recommendation for anyone is just to skip the side quests, I've done about 15 and have all been fetch quests.
Wasn't bothered at all. I preordered this (admittedly cheap £13) but still, I have every faith in this dev. Always polished and very good games. For me personally anyway.
I'd actually quite like them to remake this in the 2D/3D style. Voice acting, cutscenes. Could be an easier remake and beautiful (plus it keeps it turnbased)
If the past 3 games noted got high scores, then I wouldn't read too much into it. As they were all very subpar games. I've got it downloaded anyway, so got it regardless. but I wouldn't take much notice until they have loads of scores. I'm betting mostly 9's
@gpimlott the game isn't broken. It's not like the game is full of bugs and a write off. Im sure those who struggle with an internet connection will be fine playing the standard game.
I wouldn't quibble over something so small. So games have 10gb or more for a day one patch. Heck. Starfield, which I'm sure will be good.. will 100% have a huge day one patch to squash some bugs.
Tbh I usually end up sticking with one or two suits most of the time. Always find my favourites. So decided against the deluxe personally. Now.. if they decided to do some kind of Carnage suit for Peter, that would look cool and I probably would have got that.
@KaijuKaiser yeah I never seemed to think that, different now but when I was 8 it was a different story. Haha, see I found 7 remake far too easy (even on the harder difficulty), I suppose it's opinions. Either way, the FF7 remake combat was a good progression I found and this takes it one step further. As always I'm sure the next FF games will have different systems.
@KaijuKaiser I think turnbased was well and truly gone years ago, they have just been trying to find a formula that actually works and fans enjoy. Most of the ideas they have implemented over the years have not worked very well at all, some fared better than others, but it seems like this was a logical transition! I think fans love turnbased so much 1. Nostalgia 2. As it's more tactical. But we original fans grow older, new audiences are needed and turnbased is not popular anymore. FF9 is rumoured to be turnbased, but yeah any new entry is definitely going in this direction.
Incredible. I haven't been this stoked for a FF game since FF10. and that was many moons ago. I was always going to get this, but it just made me pre-order. If you haven't played it (even if you dislike FF) I would definitely recommend you do. We have a big release on our hands here.
Finished the demo today, very good. Deserves the hype. Currently Zelda is my GOTY, but this could quite well overtake that. The music, gameplay, graphics. All very clean and very well done. I just hope the story is amazing.
@FenIsMightier couldn't agree more, and while it's subjective.. I found the handling to be pretty decent and snappy. So it shouldn't be an issue on that front (unless it changes)
