I'll buy it at some point as we all do for nostalgia. Great games in their time and still hold up incredibly well today. Once the price drops I'll invest in it.

@Ryany I've never actually played 4, so I have something to look forward too, so far 2 is definitely my favourite. And to your other comment, yeah I can see why you wouldn't like either tbh. They are definitely very different to other resi games.

Actually finished this yesterday, much prefer village. Great game none the less, but it was definitely refined and better. Very few puzzles compared to village. All personal opinion

We should just feel sorry for them. They are that bad at CoD that they have to cheat to succeed. I think this is a good idea.

I'd love to see a FF8 style story, essentially two stories interwoven into one. Have the main cast and the original story, followed by a new adapted story with Zack as the protagonist. Switch in and out so they follow similar paths but slightly different. And then at the end, bang them together - so part 3 would include all the remaining characters. I'm happy with having the classic separate from this, those memories I'd rather not have tarnished.

Impressive! When side by side, you really do notice how much they have changed it. Great game though, was a gem on the PSP. Probably my main reason I bought one back then.

@DETfaninATL that's a hard one! While I'd love to say the classics, they aren't entirely easy for newcomers due to the battle system that is used. I think if you do like games like DOOM, then FF7 Remake might be best suited as it's a very fast combat system. But hey, if you can play the classics then 7,8 and 9 are all fantastic games.

@naruball oh no, I know it's for extras like gameplay, I get that. But I would be nice for a little extra content.

The price will definitely hurt this release, especially without factions too. The game will look great, graphically it's a no brainer. But I couldn't justify paying £70 for essentially the same game but nicer graphics. For the first time buyers it will definitely be worth it.

Maybe they should add some new segments or an after story attachment as to what happens between part 1 and 2. That would bolster the reasons for purchase.

How are we not back to live events with games yet? I work in the industry myself and over here in the UK, they have been going smoothly for the past year now.

I'll play this at some point definitely! Enjoyed until dawn. Probably just wait for the price to drop a little.

I actually started RE7 in VR but never finished it, so good timing on the ps5 version, as I already own it makes sense! I doubt I'll rebuy the other two.

E3 could have totally done much better, it was unfortunately a dying exhibition due to the costs involved and the charges that they were putting forward for slots and stands space. So you can't blame the Devs for pushing forward with their own plans. I do miss the whole week hype though! We just need an organiser to create something where the publishers take control but benefit from the original E3 hype.

In all honesty, I'm expecting this to release next Spring, Id be very surprised if we manage to get this game this year. If I was a betting man, I would say this is 2023 and they have made Last of us remake this year's heavy hitter.

I just wish they did a RE2 Remake treatment on Dino crisis. Could be so good! And what competition do they have in the Dino market!?

Used to love Unlimited, played so much of that on the Xbox back in the day, driving around Hawaii was great fun.

@OrtadragoonX I don't mean cut Enix off quite like that, I mean in more of a sense that most people associate Squares best years when they were Squaresoft. Nostalgic. Even though Enix did have a very large franchise. Which is still successful, in the west Squaresoft was always more known.

I'd imagine if any of this was true, Sony would have made it abundantly clear what their main focus would be with the buy out. And those extra devisions would have made the total by out, much more costly. So, probably in agreement - SE decided to sell the excess off (gain captial) and sell the rest to Sony for a lower cost. Let's face it, we all know what franchises Sony want from Square. And while we are at it, if Sony do the buyout.. let's go back to Squaresoft.

What about the people who have recently had their subs expried.. weirdly Microsoft actually embraced the whole upgrade thing to gamepass. In some cases it might get people to stay in the ps eco system.

They're just doubling down on this, and you can't blame them. I think being able to release the first game again alongside the shows release, they are looking for either side to take part. Casuals might love the show and take a fancy with the remake, and we all know that us gamers (if you enjoy the story) will watch the show. Obviously they will need to make things worthwhile and they can just make sure everything ties up as it should and there won't be any inconsistencies.

Bit extreme on the cost, I'll get this at some point but I'd rather pay a little less considering these very old games.

I don't think I couldn't buy this, nostalgia all over for myself as this is literally my childhood. Interesting that Amy is on the cover too! I'm guessing a playable character for CD considering she's actually in the game.

PLEASE SQEENIX. haha, aslong as this is done properly I'd be so game. Very underated game. I feel like they could manage to do this all in one go due to the style. I just can't picture this being created the same way as F7R. I'd love them to make this retro and go completely turn based like the original.

Outer wilds is actually very very good. I haven't played much of it, but there is an expansion too I believe.

I'm going out on a limb here.. Sega. With the catalogue of games they have, plus recently the blue blur making his 2nd pretty successful movie, that would be beneficial to Sony on both sides.

Waste of the Dosh. Save the money.

I find it strange that Sony gave some kind of backing to this.. if they have nothing, did they just tell Sony what they wanted to hear and they believed them..?
They must have had gameplay or something. It's just all rather strange.

@themightyant I 100% agree with you! that it's all opinion based. And while we can agree and disagree, I suppose that's how the world works. And yes of course the reviews were great for those games mentioned, and I do see your point. But they are all opinions too. The user ratings are all lower that the critics. Which again for be many reasons. Good discussion though mate! All subjective!

@themightyant oh because reviewers opinions are what have made all those games great? I'm not saying those are terrible games. I'm saying they are not as good as what have previously been released. Just because Tom from a review site has rated an Xbox game 9/10 it doesn't mean the game is indeed that score. It's all subjective. Previous Xbox franchises have indeed fallen in quality over the years.

@KingDazzar the games they used to release were incredible. True gaming at its core, unfortunately the damage was done years ago and they are still playing catch up. Plus the introduction of game pass, while amazing value... Quality suffers.

@Bleachedsmiles I certainly have.. ironically I've always been an Xbox player. From day 1. This is my first year in buying a playstation. So I've been playing halo since the beginning. The new game is better than 5 of course. But it's still poor for Halo. Flight sim is a niche, granted pretty. And yes phyco has been acclaimed. Is that it? Anyone that tells you Microsoft has improved (correct) but In the grand scheme of things the games have not. Most xbots who are dedicated to the cause have only been on there for a few years and havent seen previous quality.

I agree. I know people will be saying Microsoft does it, but I have genuinely seen a drop in quality.(apart from Forza) I'd rather they keep pushing the boundaries and investing in the games. Aim for 10's don't aim for 7's

@danzoEX, PS Now does offer a reasonable amount already, so I suppose it does depend on what games they decide to put up.

Yeah I was lucky, literally signed up to Now a few months back, got it really cheap when the promo was on, so this works for me. Tbh though, I've not even used it, so I wouldn't renew.

Any chance we can get a PS Plus without the free games. Because I'd much rather pay a little less than to keep paying for the games they provide "free" I don't think I've played one game from PS plus this year. (I know its just a rumor at this stage)

Yeah I completely agree, I've used alot of controllers and it definitely stands above most. The sense features just push it above all others.

Traded this in long ago, couldn't get the final few collectables I needed so gave up. I wouldnt be buying it again for £50. Great game though! If I still had it I'd definitely give this a whirl.
