Re: Naughty Dog Is Against Announcing Its Secret Project Too Soon

Deoxyr1bose

I’m glad that, at least from the outside, it looks like Naughty Dog is making strides for improving workplace culture, not feeling the pressure to announce things early as well as their recent shift to including more producer roles will ultimately be best for everyone. It doesn’t forgive the alleged hardship the devs experienced with TLOU2, but it does bring good signs for the future.

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5, PS4 Developer of 2022

Deoxyr1bose

I know most people are saying Santa Monica because the game they released is phenomenal, but I think they deserve it due to their openness with GoW—at least when the marketing push started. At first you still had the devs talking about it and the experience making it on twitter. However, since the second trailer they’ve been consistent with developer uploads detailing every aspect of the game, going into both the creative process and the actual features. They even made another thank you video for ragnarok’s reception, which I haven’t seen any other dev do. Santa Monica definitely was one of the most open developers when they were allowed.

Re: Fire Emblem Veteran Plotting SRPG Redemption Reapers for PS4

This dude directed Path of Radiance, widely agreed to be among the elite Fire Emblem games alongside Blazing Sword and Genealogy of the Holy War. We’ve all learned that big names don’t equate to good games, but I’m always down for more SRPGs like FE. Hopefully it has a permadeath option and a way that develops the characters like the support system.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Game Awards 2022?

Deoxyr1bose

The only thing I disliked is Geoff’s insistence on using film and tv industry people for The Game Awards

Not only is the gaming industry bigger than those since the pandemic, but it takes away an opportunity to celebrate the creatives behind the games to just give them to Hollywood actors instead

Besides that phenomenal show loved most announcements and the award picks were great as well

Re: Sonic Frontiers, Genshin Impact Fans at War Over Players' Voice Award

Deoxyr1bose

There’s been people in my mentions for the past two days on twitter arguing about this still

The Game Awards discord is now just debates on Genshin vs Sonic

The subreddits for Genshin and Sonic are filled with debate over this while the Elden Ring and God of War subs aren’t even acknowledging it

This is the most annoying I’ve seen the Genshin and especially the Sonic fanbase in a long time

Re: Poll: Did You Buy The Callisto Protocol?

Deoxyr1bose

After reviews, I’m gonna wait and see. I’ve seen some of the reviews, and idk how severe the issues are cuz if I handle unfair difficulty and unoriginality if it isn’t extreme. Probably for like $20 if Dead Space doesn’t blow it out of the water.

Re: The Winter Soldier Joins Marvel's Avengers This Month

Deoxyr1bose

Genuinely regardless of the quality of this game, these characters are really bad. Most of them have been characters that are extremely close to other characters if I remember correctly (Hawkeye’s daughter, mighty Thor, she-hulk I think, and now the winter soldier to an extent) and the ones that weren’t were Hawkeye which isn’t gonna break the internet, a PlayStation exclusive, and Black Panther which was genuinely cool. Where’s Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Daredevil, anyone unique?

Re: You Won't Be Waiting Too Long for Silent Hill 2 on PS5

Deoxyr1bose

This is definitely still a wait and see for me. If there’s a publisher I don’t trust it’s Konami and if there’s a developer I don’t trust it’s Bloober Team. It will be hard to mess this up so I have more faith in it than I would otherwise, but I’m still worried and more willing to put my dollar towards RE4.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster for PS5 Reportedly in Development

Deoxyr1bose

Remasters aren’t a bad thing. Last of Us remastered allowed so many more people to play that game, and while it’s still early to tell, Uncharted’s remaster PS5 and especially PC could bring a lot more people in. Makes sense especially if Forbidden West is one of the most owned games with the system due to all the bundles.

Re: Sony Won't Let Microsoft's $69 Billion Activision Acquisition Go, Stresses It's Bad for Gaming

Deoxyr1bose

This has to be the most annoying thing in gaming for a while for me. A company that I don’t like at all gets bought for billions, multi platform games are about to become exclusive, the rightfully earned Activision controversy gets swept under the rug and is the only reason this deal was able to happen, Sony keeps on gassing up Call of Duty like it’s the savior of the industry, and fanboys are now calling for more publishers to be bought.

Hate it here

Re: Poll: Was Sony's Latest State of Play a Show to Remember?

Deoxyr1bose

As a 20 minute showcase with it already setting expectations on Japanese games, that was pretty good. Tekken 8, God of War, the Yakuza Samurai series coming to the west, Rise of the Ronin, and Stellar Blade. Definitely better than the Farm Direct today, everything felt pretty snappy and clean besides some PlayStation Stars stuff, even if there wasn’t a huge showstopper.
