Re: Escape the Backrooms (PS5) - Impressively Expansive Co-Op Fun

"At first glance, Escape the Backrooms is just a cheap cash-grab to capitalise on the success of Kane Parson’s Backrooms movie."

The game has been on early access on Steam since 2022, roughly a year before the movie was announced lol.

Nitpicking a sentence aside, I always thought the game looked like a fun co-op romp through the Backrooms. Fun game for the lads during spooky month.

What's insane to me is the id tech engine that they had was such a marvel. Dark Ages and Indy were so well optimized while also being able to leverage stuff like raytracing, great lighting and multiple enemies/destructible environmental items without being a stutterfest like UE5.

But I guess since it's not littered with AI and required a fair bit of talented artists to work with it wasn't good enough in Microsoft's eyes. What a shame.

Re: Poll: Are You Considering Leaving PlayStation for PC?

I always went between a Sony console, a Nintendo console and my PC for years (last Xbox console I played a ton of was the 360), but over the last few years I've been playing my Sony consoles much less and my PC/Nintendo console much more. Mainly because I just prefer PC and I can get games much cheaper from Humble and Fanatical and Steam sales.

Re: Just 15% of All PS5 Software Was Purchased Physically Last Quarter

@WhoderMan One thing I like about PC/Steam is that there's sites like Humble Bundle and Fanatical that sell Steam/GoG games and the nice thing about them is they try to compete with each other to give people the best deals on games. So if a game is on sale for like $30 on Steam, Fanatical might have it for like $25 with some other offers like it comes with a free game or a 5% off coupon after you buy it. So if you buy from them, they'll give you a Steam key you redeem on Steam.

It sucks to see but when you look at the logistics, it makes sense to move away from physical, and I say that as someone that grew up loving physical games.

I moved to all digital quite a few years ago cause I was tired of getting shafted by Amazon/Best Buy with shipping new games like 5 days after release lol. Also the closest brick-n-mortar is a half hour drive from me.

Re: GTA 6 Not Expected to Run at 60fps on Any PS5 Console

@Perturbator I remember being a teenager and thinking the whole "pc master race" thing was an eye roller, but now as a 30+ year old, I think it's hilarious, especially when people legit get mad from it.

Anyways, I do think that in the year 2026, games should not be locked to 30fps and that's it. 60fps should really be the standard nowadays.
