The question is, would people have enjoyed it more if it was paid DLC but with more content? Or would they have complained about it being "live servicey"?
The mode was free in an update, can't really complain about it lol.
Looking at the numbers, it makes sense why Sony is going so hard in the live service venture. We're looking at the player numbers for games on the console for the first time and they've seen this for years.
While I think it's a step in the right direction, you should be able to see more games then just the Top 10, cause heavy hitters won't exactly change much. It's like how the Steam charts has Counter-Strike 2 at the top spot day in and day out.
Kinda funny how so many dismiss the game cause it's not releasing on PS5 at the same time as other platforms, which falls on Sony's outdated policy. People are saying the early access is pretty solid at the time, so it seems worth while in it's current state.
@Cherip-the-Ripper And yet here we are, discussing on an article talking about sales estimates for Saros.
Cause there's no Steam charts for consoles so the only thing we can do is discuss estimates from sources that compile the data and put out the information.
Besides, PushSquare had an article talking about Marathon's sale numbers a few months back, and that's what I'm hearkening back to.
Makes sense that the sales would really slow down cause the game doesn't have the post-game grind compared to older MH games and I think people are waiting for an expansion before hopping back in, or even buying for the first time.
I feel like what he said was just generic corporate speak.
The industry has tons of layoffs, underwhelming sales numbers, games going offline, studios being closed and of course Concord.
Yeah, there's tons of great games being released, but you'd have to be clinically blind to not see the issues that are plaguing the industry at a eye-opening rate.
I know peeps don't like the discussion, but I genuinely wonder how the sales would've been if it released day and date on PC as well as PS5, especially judging by Marathon's sale numbers.
If Housemarque is shut down it'll be a shame cause you can tell they have passion for what they make.
Having the hall effect sticks is a big improvement for the controller, but the rubber grips on the handles give it that Mad Catz controller look lol, and it's kinda ugly in my eyes.
Also for $220 and the lack of rumble makes this not really worth it in my eyes.
I could possibly see it release on PS5 a few months down the line after release, but I could also see it not release on PS5 at all. Guess we'll see what Micorosoft decides on when the game gets a release date.
It's a great game and still is a beaut in the visual department 10 years later. I do think the second game is my favorite in the series with the fourth right after.
I get the game is supposed to provoke nostalgic memories of being young and hanging out with friends, which is cool, but games that essentially play themselves isn't my cup of tea. It's kinda the reason I couldn't get into Quantic Dream's games or even Telltale's games.
The game is still cool but I quit playing it a while ago cause it's such a grindfest to get super credits, which is a big turn off for my friends who just want to play with the toys the game gives without having to drop hours in credit grinding to get anything outside of the initial warbond.
I'm not a fan of ai but I feel it's something that's going to be inevitably used more and more in the AAA space as time goes on, and it's not going to be disclosed when it's used by bigger dev teams.
I kinda doubt it cause Nintendo, and in turn their own IPs, are just too strong in Japan. I think the Switch doubling as Nintendo's console and handheld helps a ton.
From the small bit I've played so far, I do agree the combat is pretty meh and the menu ui is bad lol. But the rest of the game is pretty neat-o. I need to play a bit more though. I'm someone that doesn't really play gachas so I don't have a point of reference for that portion of the game.

Re: Sony Reportedly Confirms Shift Back to PS5 Single Player Exclusive Games
Sony ya messed up, all I wanted was the Demon Souls Remake on PC before ya changed stances lol.
Ah well, I can just toss the disc into my PS5 and play it, I've had it since I got my PS5 on launch day.
Re: Gravity Rush 2 Fans Find a Way to Play Sony's Neglected PS4 Classic at 4K, 60fps
I love both Gravity Rush games, it's a shame the ip has been dormant since the second game's release.
But I'll have to give the game's another playthrough via emulator.
Re: GTA 6 Originally Meant to Launch 18 Months Ago, But We're Still Waiting for Trailer 3 and Pre-Orders
I could see the game delayed into q1 2027 if Rockstar were to delay it again.

Re: 'There's Truth to It': Sony 'Considering' Bringing Back Your Fave Franchises on PS5
Really hoping there's truth to this, Sony has so many great ips that are dormant, and so many of said ips are close to my heart.
Re: Poll: Would You Buy an inFAMOUS Collection for PS5?
Even if it's just a remaster collection of 1 & 2, free them from their ps3 prison.
Re: You'll No Longer Need a Pricey Headset to Play Two of PSVR2's Best Games

Re: Marvel Rivals Goes Wild with Ferocious New Character in Season 8 on PS5
Huh, I never knew about Devil Dinosaur. Kinda cool that he's being added into Rivals.
Gotta give the devs credit for adding characters from the Marvel universe that I have no idea who they are.
Re: Dead Rising Franchise Still Alive as Capcom Considers Sequels, Remakes
The Dead Rising Remake was a fun remake so I'm happy to see the IP isn't abandoned.

Re: Lies of P 2 Still at Early Stage, But the Potential Is Promising
Super excited! I still think Lies of P is the best Soulslike out there and is easily up there with From Soft's games.

I still need to get my hands on this game, it looks really good.
Re: PS5 Fighter Marvel Tokon Has a 10-Hour Single Player Story, But It's a Comic with No Gameplay
Pretty similar to Guilty Gear then, which is disappointing in all honesty, but It's kinda Arc System's thing.
At least DB FighterZ and KLK If both had gameplay in the story modes, and they were done by Arc System.

Re: You Need a PS5 Pro to Play 007 First Light at Its Best on Console

Re: PS2 May Survive the Switch's Assault on Gaming History
With prices going up on the Switch 2, I could honestly see the Switch surpass the PS2, just going to take a bit before it does.
Crazy that the PS2 sold that many consoles, but it is a great console.

Just my two cents on the game.

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Month (April 2026)
Definitely Pragmata but I also really enjoyed Mouse PI. NTE is cool too but I only played it for like an hour so far lol.
